Credits to Francyn Tan from my Former FB Group who kindly recommended this Eatery. Just as she mentioned, this place is located relatively near to Petaling Street Market 茨廠街 🛍️ so if you are already near that area, you can swing by to check it out. Although a Kopitiam, I was surprised to find it Air-Conditioned. ❄️ From the Signboard, it looks like it has been around since 1945? 😳 Wow this Restoran has been around for 80 years!? 😳

As I stepped in, I don't know why but something about this place gives me a Very HK Cha Chaan Ting type of Vibe. 🇭🇰😅 Maybe because all the Customers were conversing in Canto? 🗣️ There were a Few Customers and isn't Crowded on a Monday Afternoon.
Staffs are mostly Myanmar Folks. They are Friendly, Polite and mostly keep to themselves. Having said that, they aren't good in English and this probably resulted in a Slight Mistake that was committed as you will read later. 🤔 Anyway, it took 1 MIn for the 🐟 Raw Fish, 2 Mins for their 🥤 Herbal Tea, and 3 Mins for the 🐮🍜 Beef Noodles. Everything was served up within 3 Mins.

🥤 D1 Herbal Tea (Ice, No Sugar) = RM2.80
I am quite impressed that this is served in a Metal Cup that is actually custom made and branded with the Eatery's Name. 🥤🤔 I ordered this because according to the Staff, this is their Only Zero Sugar Drink. 🤔 Having said that, the Actual Drink still tasted Sweet, although the Sweetness is actually derived from Monkfruit 罗汉果, so in a way she is also Correct. 😅
If you are someone who is watching your Blood Sugar like me, Monkfruit is one of the few items that tastes Sweet and also won't spike. 😋👍 That said, the taste of this Monkfruit is also not those Gao Gao type. Sweetness is Light. Acceptable for a 罗汉果 Drink, but also nothing special. 😅 I don't feel this is Homemade. It tastes like its probably from some Supplier.
🐟 A10 Raw Fish Slices = RM9.00
Raw Fish Sashimi is certainly an Unusual Dish that is not usually seen in Beef Noodle Eateries. 🐟🤔 No Idea what Fish is used, and there are 10 Very Thin Slices of it. They're sliced so Thin, that they're Practically Translucent. 🔪🐟 I'm actually impressed with this because if this is not Sliced using some Tool or Machine, then whoever is able to slice it to this Consistent Thinness has really Excellent 刀功 indeed. 🔪👍
One Important Component in this Dish I realized, is the Copious use of an Oil Mix that tastes like Sesame Oil and Shallot Oil. 🍯🤔 This is a New Culinary Technique for me, and the 1st Time I'm seeing being used for Raw Fish. 🐟🤔

Culinary Wise, its Clever to use Oil like this because it works very well to cover up any Raw Fishiness. 🍯🐟 That said, as someone who prefer to taste the Original Taste 原味 of a Fish/Meat, I'm not a Fan of this. 🤔 While it is a Clever Technique, it also Completely Covers Up the Whole Taste Profile of the Fish. 🐟 I cannot taste the Original Taste of the Meat and all I taste is this Oil Mix. 🍯🤔
What this Oil Mix also tells me is that this is also a Very Cheap and Efficient Way to be able to cover up a Raw Fish that may not be Entirely Fresh. 🐟😅 That said though the Bite Texture of this Fish isn't Mushy and there weren't any Foul Odour. But still, I can't help but think that this is also a reason why they would use an Oil Mix like this. 🍯🤔

🌶️ The Chilli Condiment
This interestingly has a Slight Fruity Tart Taste, like they added some Citrusy Juice to it, I'm guessing Lime Juice. 🍋🟩🤔 It is Elevated Spicy although doesn't bite hard. 🌶️ Decent Chilli for a Beef Noodle.
🐮🍜 BS4 Beef Sliced, Beef Ball Noodle (Small, Kuey Teow) = RM12.00
Served in a Relatively Average Sized Bowl, I closely dissected and it comes with:
🍜 Noodles with Soup Broth
🐮 2 Small Beef Balls
🐮 About 10 Slices of Beef
🥬 A Few Stalks of Chye Sim.
🐷🐮 About 1 Tbsp of Minced Bak Chor
🍲 Quality of the Soup Broth
This Broth doesn't taste like how you would usually expect a Regular Beef Noodles Broth to taste like. 🍲🤔 Not Beefy at all, this doesn't taste like its Boiled using Beef Bones. 🐮🦴 Its actually leans more towards like a Braised 卤水 Taste. 🤔
Slightly Alkaliney due to the Presence of the Noodles, I would describe this Broth to taste more like a "Braised Wanton Mee Soup". 🤔 Not Beefy at all, this was Slightly Oily and Slightly Salty but also Not Overly So. First Time taste such a Unique Broth for Beef Noodles. 🤔 I neither like nor dislike this at first taste. Its just very Different I guess.
🍜 Quality of the Noodles
This is where the Mistake was committed by the Staff. 🤔 I had requested for Kway Teow but the Noodles I got was more like a Slightly Thicker Mee Kia. 🤔
This Noodles reminds me of the Same Type of WTM Noodles used by Tampoi Ah B Wanton Noodles in JB actually, which further reinforces the feeling of "Wanton Mee-Ness" in this Dish rather than a Beef Noodle. 🍜😅 Amount of Noodles given is Acceptable for the Price. Not QQ, this is more Soft in Texture, close to Mushy actually but not quite. Easy to Bite and Swallow. 🍜
🐮 Quality of the Beef Slices
Amount of Pieces are Acceptable for the Price. These were Velveted Soft Soft like Tze Char Style. 😋 Very Soft and Tender, you are not going to be able to taste the Natural Meaty Texture of Beef in this one. 🐮
I personally prefer my Beef Slices in Beef Noodles to have a More Natural Conventional Chewy Beefy Meaty Texture 🐮 so unfortunately this did not really appeal to me. 🤔 But if you are someone who enjoy such Velveted Type of Beef Slices, you are going to like this more. 👍

🐮 Quality of the Beef Balls
There are 2 Small Ones and while they are not Super Bouncy QQ, they still have what I'd call a "Soft Firmness" to them. 🤔 I do enjoy the Nice Release of Natural Beefiness 🐮 as I chew them and they don't have that type of Frozen Supermarket type of Taste. 👍 I have a Feeling that these may be 手工 Handmade.

🐷🐮 Quality of the Bak Chor
This is the One Component in this Dish that intrigues me the most because I've never seen Bak Chor being used for a Beef Noodle. They were Braised Saltish and I couldn't tell they were Beef or Pork. 🐮🐷🤔 What it does though is help flavour the Soup. 🍲

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At the Price of RM2.80 (S$0.90) for this Cup of Cold 罗汉果 Monkfruit Herbal Tea, 🥤 it was an Affordable Price although also Nothing Particularly Special.
Decent and Not Overly Diluted. It is what it is. 🤔 If you are looking for something that doesn't spike your Blood Sugar, this would be a Good Choice.
At the Price of RM9.00 (S$2.80) for this Plate of 10 Slices of Raw Fish 🐟 I dunno how to feel about it. On one hand, I am Culinarily Impressed because it is the First Time I'm seeing Raw Fish Sashimi being doused in an Oil Mix like this. 🐟🍯
On the Other Hand, this Technique itself also tells me it is also another Way to be able to mask and sell "Less-Than-Fresh" Raw Fish. 🐟🤔 Also as someone who prefers the Original Taste of a Fish/Meat, this style of Preparation is not something I would really go for. 🤔 I also feel the Slices of this Raw Fish is a Tad Too Thin tbh, although again I am impressed if this is cut without the use of any Special Tools. 🔪
At the Price of RM12.00 (S$3.70) is an Affordable Price for this 🐮🍜 Beef Noodle. The Amount of Ingredients given are Acceptable and Filling but this Dish really doesn't taste like a Conventional Beef Noodle that you may be familiar with. 🤔
Eating this feels more like eating a Lightly Braised version of WTM. 🍜😅 I thought the Main Taste Profile has a Very Monotone Braised Taste. 🤔 Adding Chilli will help spice it up a little. 🌶️ I wish they replace that Chye Sim with 酸菜 Mustard Green instead to further jazz it up. 🤔
Pairing the 🐟 Raw Fish Slices with this 🐮🍜 Beef Noodles was indeed an Unusual Combination. What you get in addition to the Already Unconventional Braised WTM sort of taste is a Hit of Sesame Shallot Oil Mix. 🍯 This Dish really has a Unique Taste that I've never tasted anywhere else. 🤔 I can't say I'm really enamoured or really enjoyed it, but its the Culinary Aspect of this Dish that intrigued me more. 🤔

Alot of things that is done in this Beef Noodles is not something that is done in other Beef Noodles. 🐮🍜 Heck if they are able to stay in Business for 80 Years since 1945, they are obviously doing something right. 👍 On that note, because this place has been around for 80 Years, 🤔 I have a feeling that this is perhaps a Very Traditional 古早味 Old School Way that 🐮🍜 Beef Noodles are prepared in the Past?
If anything, this Dish is probably Historically Significant because it is really a Very Unusual to make 🐮🍜 Beef Noodles like this and even more Unusual to pair it with 🐟 Raw Fish thats soaked in a 🍯 Sesame/Shallot Oil Mix.
Although admittedly not a Dish that I would try again, I can totally understand why this would appeal to someone else. 👍 If you are near Petaling Street Market 茨廠街 and is open to try a Very Unique Tasting 80 Years Old style of Beef Noodles 🐮🍜 that really doesn't taste like Conventional Modern Beef Noodles, I can definitely recommend this to give it a try. 👍
