About this SS2 Selera Malam

This is a Medan Selera (Food Court / Hawker Centre) located at Jalan SS2 hence the name SS2. 🤔 Its a Pretty Famous Food Court / Hawker Centre that has been mentioned in Various Food Blogs all over. 📝

The Whole Surrounding Area where this Medan Selera is located is actually quite a Large Place full of Eateries 🍽️ and for some reason, I thought the Whole Area has a Very Similar Vibe to Taman Mount Austin in Johor Bahru. 🤔

Having said that, when I was there at 7.00pm on a Tuesday Evening, only Half of this Medan Selera is actually open as you can see in the Attached Video. 🎥😅 Similar to Gurney Drive Hawker Centre that I visited in Penang previously. 😅

There is interestingly 1 Lone Stall that opened in the Closed Section 😳 which makes me think that the Closure is more of a Voluntary Basis rather than a Mandatory Closure? 🤔 I'm not too sure about the Rules regarding this.

As I'm unsure which days do each Section Open, I would recommend to skip this place if you are thinking of visiting on Weekdays. 🤔 I reckon Weekends are likely the Days when both Sections are Open. 🤔

Even for the Section that was Open, I also don't find this place really Very Popular or Crowded. 🤔 The Whole Medan Selera is Non-Airconditioned but still feels Airy. 🌬️ Completely Not Touristy, this Place seems to actually be more of a Local Hawker Center that is catered more for the Locals that are staying around Nearby. 👍



I also noticed that the Patrons in this Place seems to be a Older Middle Age Crowd and hardly see any Younger Gen-Z Types here. 🤔 This is perhaps because the Foods here are also more towards Local Malaysian Foods, 🇲🇾 not Fancy Hip Foods that would appeal to Younger Folks. 😅

Personally, I feel this Whole Place is really No Different from a Typical Singapore Hawker Centre. 🇸🇬😅 Unless you are already near the Area, I don't feel it is worth your time to specifically visit this place. 🤔 In fact, I feel the Surrounding Area with its Various Different Varieties of Eateries are actually more interesting than this Medan Selera itself. 😅
