🐔🍚 Nasi Ayam = RM3.50

📋 Here is the Full Menu of the Eatery/Restaurant.

Prices are Accurate as of the Date of the Post.

When I was researching in Google Reviews for Places to eat in KL, I came across this Place offering an Unbelievable Price of just RM3.50 for their Nasi Ayam. 💵😳 This is especially Unusual not only because I have never seen such a Price offered in JB, but even more Unbelievable that this is found in the Capital KL no less. 🇲🇾😳 So of course I wanted to visit personally to find out if this is true. 🤔

Small Trivia:
The Name of this Eatery is Super Adorable! 😅 "Pakcik Bawang" literally translates to "Uncle Onion". 🧅 In addition, thanks to my Malay Colleagues, "Pakcik Bawang" can also have a Side-Meaning of "A Gossipy Guy". 😅 So Cute!

The Area where this Eatery is located is Understandably located in a More Quieter Neighbourhood Suburb, 🤔 but it is also Not as Ulu as you may think. Just a short distance away, there is a Small M3 Shopping Mall 🏬 and what looks like a Quaint Little Food Street. 😋 Granted this M3 not a Top Tier Atas Mall, just a Small Neighbourhood Place but I can assure you this location is not like Super Ulu until Middle of Nowhere 鸟不生蛋 Level. 😅

The Eatery itself is located in what looks like a Very Adorable Mini Food Village 😄 with a Couple of Small Warungs together. I don't know why but I really love the Vibe of this place, it just gives me a Very Cozy Neighbourhood sort of Feel. ♥️

As for the Actual Eatery, the Google Reviewers are right. This is actually More like a Bicycle Shop 🚲 that has a Side-Food Business rather than a Dedicated Eatery. 🤔 From what I gather, the Owner is an Avid Cyclist himself 🚴 and he opened this "Eatery" also like a Sort of Chill Chill type of Resting Pit-Stop for Fellow Cyclists to come rest. 🚴😄

What I really LOVE was that some of their Dining Tables are made out of Recycled SINGER Sewing Machines! ♥️ OMG Classic Brand Right? How many people here still remember this Classic SINGER Brand nowadays? 😅

When I was there at 10.00am on a Tuesday Afternoon, the Whole Place has a Very Quiet Peaceful 世外桃源 sort of Feel. 😌 This was a Very Welcome Relief if you are trying to get away from the Hustle and Bustle Busy City Life of Central KL. 🇲🇾😅 Other than 1 Elderly Makcik and another Young Chap, there were no other Customers when I was there.

Manning the Place that day was a Very Friendly Kakak (Big Sister). She was Very Polite and Welcoming. 😄 I would advise if you can at least converse in some Basic Malay. 👍 Really Friendly Lady, even when I just ordered this RM3.50 without anything else, there is not a Single Sense of "Trying to Upsell or Push other Products". 🤔 This Nasi Ayam really is RM3.50 with No Strings Attached. 💵👍
The Whole Dish was served up very quickly in about 3 Mins with a Warm Friendly Smile. 😄

🐔🍚 Nasi Ayam = RM3.50

The Dish as you can see is Nothing Fancy. 🤔 I loved the Simple and Humble look it has. I'm impressed that for this Price, there was even a Bowl of Soup included. 🍲😳

🍲 Soup

Has a Cabbagey Base with a Slight Saltish Taste. 🥬 Tasted like MSG is added but also not too much. Very Basic Soup but I have Zero Complaints about this. 👍

🍚 Rice

This is Standard Jasmine Rice coloured Yellow which I'm guessing is due to Turmeric. 🤔 Doesn't taste Turmericky at all, this is Plain Tasting like a Standard Nasi Putih. 🍚 There isn't alot of Rice given, about maybe 3/4 of a Small Bowl? 🤔 Texture is Very Standard, Not Mushy. Again, I have Zero Complaints about this. 👍

🍯 The Sauce

Brownish Appearance, visually it looks like Chinese Style of Lor Zhup, 🍯🤔 but has a Tomatoey Aroma and Taste. 🍅 Slightly Sourish, Slightly Spicy. Its not a Very Complicated Complex type of Sauce, but its Presence added alot to Flavour the Rice. 🍯🍚 Again, I have Zero Complaints about this. 👍

🐔🍗 Chicken

The Amount given is Generous. 👍 It looks like about a Quarter of a Spring Chicken Breast Cut. 🐔🤔 What I liked is that it is actually Roasted. Meat is Dry and a Tad Cold, not the Best Spring Chicken in the World obviously. 🤔 Although Roasted, Its the Quality of this Roasted Chicken that made me think that this is probably not done In-House. 🤔 This 烧鸡好象烘的太好了. Let me Explain.

Because this is Primarily a Bicycle Shop 🚲 and not a Dedicated Eatery, the Place doesn't look like they have a Kitchen equipped with a Suitable Oven/Pit Roast that is required to roast a Chicken 🔥🐔 to this Level that I am seeing here. 🤔 Therefore I have a Suspicion that this Roast Spring Chicken may be either from a Supplier or directly purchased from a Supermarket 🛍️ that is being re-packaged for this Dish. 🤔 I cannot confirm but this is just my Observation about it.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM3.50 (S$1.10), without a doubt, this is the Most Affordable Dish of Nasi Ayam that I have ever eaten in Malaysia. 🇲🇾 💵👍Not even in JB can I find such a Price (Yet). So it is even more Unbelievable that I can find such a Price in the Capital KL of all Places. 😳
The Dish itself is actually Acceptably Filling and the Amount of Meat is Generous for what it is. 🍖👍 I have absolutely no issues with the Place here as it was Very Welcoming and I totally felt at home while eating here. 😄

Having said that, I also need to set your Expectation that this is obviously not a Dish that will blow your mind. 🤔 The Price set is meant more for Survival because in Today's Economy, RM3.50 is just not a Realistic Sustainable Selling Price for an Average Meal in Malaysia. 💵🤔 This leads me to think that this is done more out of Charity than anything else. 🤔
Regardless of how I feel in the Main Review, I have Zero Complaints simply because of this Charity Price they are offering. 💵👍 In fact I want to commend this place for being able to offer this Dish at this Price out of the Kindness and Goodness of their Hearts for People who really need it. ♥️

If you are thinking of visiting, do consider ordering their other (More Normal Priced) Dishes to be able to support them to keep them in Business for them to continue to offer this RM3.50 Nasi Ayam for the Community. 🍚♥️
Because this is also a Bicycle Shop, 🚲 you might even find something here if you are also a Cycling Enthusiast. 🚴🚴‍♀️ Every bit of your Support goes a Long Way I'd imagine. ♥️

Even if its not out for Charity, I can still recommend this place because this Whole Area is actually a Neighbourhood Food Street. 😋 Even if you don't want to eat here, I'm sure there are other Choices that will appeal to you. 👍 This Place is actually not as Ulu as you might imagine and I have a Feeling it is probably quite Happening in the Evenings. 🌃
