As I did my research for Eateries in Klang, I came across this place offering Strange and Unusual Twists for BKT so I thought I'd give it a try. 🤔
The Actual Place is a 2 Levels Air-Conditioned ❄️ Modern Cafe that is nicely renovated to have a Classic Retro Look. The 1st Level is the Actual Cafe, while the 2nd Level is used like some Floorspace to support Local Community Events. 🤔
There was some sort of Art Exhibition going on when I was there. I liked that they even offer Tours of Klang if you sign up for it. 🤔 Very Community initiative sort of Place.

The Cafe itself is run by Young Staffs in their 20s? They were Friendly, Polite and mostly keep to themselves. What impressed me as you can see in the Photo, is that they bake their Own Breads here. 👨🍳🍞 It was a pity I only knew of this AFTER my Meal or I would have tried it for the Review. 😅 Understandably because its a Weekday Morning when I was there, there weren't any Customers other than me. 🤔 Very Quiet Cafe Ambience with Soft Piano Pieces playing in the Background. 🎵🎶
Because this is a Modern Cafe, I requested for all of my Dishes to be served up together, and I'm happy they were able to do it. 👍 That said, it still took 20 Mins for all to be served up even though I was the Only Customer that day.

🍵 B13 Lemongrass Ginger Tea (Hot) = RM10.00
Nothing Particularly Special about this. This is not made using Actual Lemongrass and Ginger but is brewed using a Tea Bag. 🤔 Both Flavours are there, but they're also Very Dainty Light, not as Robust or Gao Gao as I imagine. 🤔 Acceptable, but nothing special because this is literally just a Tea Bag with Hot Water.
This is the Item that had some YouTubers Squirming and Gagging on Videos 🤢 that I watch for this Place so of course I had to try it because of course Ice-Cream and BKT is such an Unusual Pairing. 🍨🐷😅
Quality of the Vanilla Ice Cream
Beautifully Presented in a Coffee Cup with a Garnishing of Spring Onion, 🍨 they give about 1 Scoop of Vanilla Ice-Cream. It doesn't taste like they Homemade this, yet it also doesn't taste like its from some Simple Supermarket Tub. 🤔 Probably a Decent Quality Brand I reckon. Decently Creamy with a Light Sweetness. 😋

Quality of the BKT Braised Sauce
You need to actually Top Up Extra to be able to have this BKT Sauce poured on the Ice-Cream. 🤔 This Sauce does have a Very Faint, Somewhat Braised Aroma. It doesn't taste Herbal, but more Braised. 🤔 In fact, this reminds me more like a Braised Duck Gravy 卤水鸭 than BKT Gravy tbh. 🦆 It is Noticeably Salty. There are also what looks like Small Mushroom Cubes. 🍄 If you notice the Photo of the Young Lad kneading the Dough, you might also notice a Box of Klang Sauce on the Table. I reckon this Sauce is made from this Package. Probably some type of Powder Mix. 👍

How does it taste eating both the Ice-Cream and BKT Gravy together?
The Whole Taste is not as Strange as you may think. 😅 Try to imagine the having a Main Vanilla Ice-Cream Taste Profile 🍨 with a Hit of Saltish Braised Sauce 🍯 followed by Ocassional Pieces of Mushroom. 🍄 This is the Classic Concept of pairing Sweet and Savory together, not an Unheard of Concept actually. 🤔 If you are someone who is ok with eating French Fries 🍟 with Ice-Cream, 🍨 this is something similar.
That said, I can also understand why this would be Violently Rejected especially for People who cannot accept Tastes that are Too Contrasting like this. 🤢😅 I am personally ok with it because I am ok with Dishes that has a Decent Contrasting Taste if it works. 😅 Also, I feel this is Culinarily Creative. 👍 Never knew that Braised Sauce Lor Zhup can pair this Well with Ice-Cream like this. 😅🍯🍨
🥚 Klang BKT Chawanmushi = RM4.90
Chawanmushi is a Japanese Egg-Custardy Dish usually served more like a Side-Dish. 🥚 Beautifully Presented in a Faux Japan Style, this Chawanmushi has a Nice BKT Braised Aroma in addition to its Classic Chawanmushi Aroma. 😋 The Braised Sauce that is used in this is Noticeably Less Salty compared to the Version used in their Ice-Cream. 🍯🤔 I reckon its still the Generally Same Braised Sauce Base, only less Salty.

The Below Chawanmushi Section is decently made and tastes exactly like a Regular Chawanmushi. 😋 Soft and Smooth and Not Overly Eggy. Eating this with the Braised Sauce definitely isn't as Experimental or Contrasting like their Ice-Cream. 😅 Because both Components are Savoury, they pair together well. 👍 Imagine eating Chawanmushi with a Lor Zhup and you're not far off how this taste like.

🥧 S6 Klang Mini Tart (3 Pieces) = RM8.00
Ordered this because I thought 3 Tarts for RM8.00 seemed like a Good Deal, 🤔 but the Actual Tarts are actually Extremely Small. 😅 They do however exude a Noticeable BKT Braised type of Aroma. What this is is basically a Baby Tart Shell with abit of Egg Tart Filling and topped off with the Same Braised Sauce they used for both their Ice-Cream and Chawanmushi. 🍯🤔

Very Biscuity due to the Tart Shell, it forms the Main Texture for this. 🤔 I don't taste any of the Egg Filling as the Taste is mostly dominated by the Slightly Saltish Braised Sauce. 🍯🤔 Again, this is a Sweet + Savoury Combo but the Sweet in this is Very Much Subdued. Imagine trying to eat a Piece of Digestive Biscuit with Lor Zhup and this is what it is. 🍪🍯 Unusual, but not too Wierd Combination if you are someone who is ok with Savoury + Sweet Flavour like this. 😅

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
Because this is a Modern Cafe, all the Prices are Priced like a Cafe. Yes, that means Not Cheap. 💵🤔 At the Price of RM10.00 (S$3.04) for the Lemongrass Ginger Tea, 🍵 this is definitely not worth the Price 🤔 because what you're paying for is just a Tea Bag with Hot Water. 🤔 Had they used Actual Ingredients to brew this, I would have no issues.
At the Price of RM3.00 (S$1.00) for the Vanilla Ice-Cream and Top up RM5.00 (S$1.60) for a Total price of RM8.00 (S$2.60) is also Not Say Cheap but is still 勉强 a Reasonable Price to ask for this. 🍨🤔 Although doesn't taste Homemade, the Vanilla Ice-Cream also doesn't taste like its some Cheap Supermarket Product. 👍 Probably a Better Brand they used? Decent Quality. The Braised Sauce itself doesn't taste Exactly like BKT, more like 卤水鸭 Braised Duck Gravy actually. 🦆🤔
This is a Either Love it or Hate it Dish and is More for People who can accept Contrasting Tastes. 😅 People who are ok with the taste of French Fries with Ice-Cream 🍟🍨 would probably take to this better. I am personally ok with this Taste myself and I'm impressed with the Creativity shown here. 👍 Never knew Braised Sauce can pair this Decently with Ice-Cream. 🍨
At the Price of RM4.90 (S$1.50) for the BKT Chawanmushi is a Decent Price. 👍 Among all the Dishes I've tried, this Combo feels like the Best because both Components are Savoury and they pair together well. 😋
The Chawanmushi itself is decently made. 😋 Just imagine lum Lor Zhup onto it and this is what it is. 👍 If you enjoy eating Chawanmushi, this is an Affordable Price to try and you will probably enjoy this too.
At the Price of RM8.00 (S$2.50) for this BKT Tart is less that S$1.00 for each, but these were Very Small Tarts. 😅 Again, this is a Contrasting Taste sort of Dish like their BKT Ice-Cream although the Sweet Component is Very Much Subdued compared to the Savoury. 🤔 I don't have much issues with it as I am also ok with this. 😅 Think of it like eating a Digestive Biscuit with some Lor Zhup is what this tastes like. If that sounds ok to you, sure go ahead. 😅
At the End of the Day, this Eatery is not where you would go to fill you up. For me, this was a Very 吃玩玩 type of Place. 😅 If you are looking for Absolute Value and Bang for your Buck, this is probably not suitable for you. 🙅♂️ In fact, among all the Eateries I've visited in Klang, this one actually feels the Most Touristy. 😅 Not exactly a Popular Place, there aren't any Customers throughout the Whole Time I was there during a Weekday.

What this Place is for me, feels like a Group of Young People who have a Dream and are Brave enough to do a Business. 👍 Despite how Gimmicky or Touristy it was, I thought Some Dishes had some thought gone into them and were Culinary Creative. 👍 Don't let my Average Score Deter you. It's definitely Not a Die Die Must Come Place, 😅 but if you are Open to try something New, and is ok with the Prices in their Menu, I can still recommend to give this a Try to support these Young People. 👍 At the Very Least they Bake their own Bread here compared to some other Cafes. 🍞👍
