This is a Hong Kong styled Cha Chaan Tng Modern Kopitiam Eatery in the Mall. Very Stereotypical Gaudy Renovation, I thought the Faux HK-Styled Signboards they have looked kindda Adorable. I was surprised that the Music Background they play here were Mandarin Songs and Not Canto though. Interestingly No Bruce Lee Posters anywhere LOL.

Most of the Staffs were Myanmar Folks who were Quiet, Polite and Reserved. I liked their Effort in greeting 欢迎光临. They're not Fluent in English however, as they initially didn't understand me when I requested for an Extra Plate.
Quite a Popular Place filled with Customers even on a Weekday Morning although its not until Full House type of Situation.

One thing I noted is they have a Gigantic Menu with Lots of Items and Choices. Write down what you want using Pencil and Paper and Press Table Button or Reach out to a Staff Directly to order.

It took 5 MIns for the Milk Pudding, 7 Mins for the Herbal Soup Rice Dish, and surprisingly 14 Mins for the Milk Tea. You'd think Milk Tea would usually be the 1st to be served but no. In fact, there is an Issue with it too as you read on.

GM1 Hong Kong Milk Tea (Hot) = RM6.50

Ordered this because of course I have to since this Place itself is Modeled after a HK Cha Chaan Tng. I'm surprised this took the Longest to serve up but that's not even the Worst Thing about it.

Broken Plastic Hazard Found

As I sipped this, I caught a Piece of Plastic Debris within the Cup. Quite a Large Piece too with Sharp Edges, luckily I didn't drank this in. I did not make a Scene or Request to change for another one. As with all Eateries I visit, I'm here to only Silently Observe and record in my Findings even if there are any issues Encountered. I'm afraid I have to deduct Major Points for this. This is a Major Safety Hazard.

Hazard Aside, this Tea itself tasted Gao Gao and does taste somewhat close to HK-Style although it isn't Very Creamy. It was Unfortunate that I found that Plastic Hazard Piece so do be careful when you order anything from this Place.

TM27 雙皮奶 Egg White = RM6.90

I was amused they call this "Egg White" because the Actual Name for 雙皮奶 should be "Double Skin Milk Pudding" which is a Classic Macau Dessert I ate the other time at
義順牛奶公司 Leitaria I Son / Yee Shun Milk Company

Served in a Plastic Container which is Adorably Placed within a Cup for a Better Presentation, I didn't really have Much Expectations for this. Indeed at 1st Look can already tell this is Not Correctly Done.

Nothing about this is Correct.
- Not the Appearance (Where the Heck is the Milk Skin on Top?)
- Not the Texture (Like a Firmish Cream Cheese instead of Ultra Soft)
- Not the Taste (No Nespray Milk Powder Taste, tasted more like Coagulated Condensed Milk)
- Not even the Name (Of all the names to give, they call this "Egg White"? Seriously?)

No, No, No, and No.
This is Anything But a Proper 雙皮奶. Nuff Said.

CM148 Chicken Herbs Soak Cooked Rice = RM17.90

This Dish is apparently listed under their Top 10 Signatures, but after the Hazardous Milk Tea and the No, No, No, Milk Pudding, I looked upon this with Tired Jaded Eyes. Its
basically a Herbal Soup with a Bowl of Rice dunked into it.

I wished they served the Rice Separately because the Dish looks kindda Messy and even Lazy when presented like this. 卖相不是很雅观.
For a Dish listed as a Top 10 Signature, I feel it could be presented better.

Of course I dissected it closely which consists of:
A Bunch of Chinese Herbs, Goji Berries
1 Bowl of White Rice
5 Pieces of Chicken Cuts
3 Red Dates
3 Small Longans

Quality of the Herbal Soup

OK this perked me up a little. Noticeably Sweetish Herbal Taste, no doubt powered by the Red Dates and Logans, this Soup doesn't taste Dilluted.

Doesn't taste like MSG is added. Not Amazing or Overly Complex, but an Acceptable Decent Herbal Soup.

Quality of the Rice

Nothing Special about this. Its just a Bowl of Standard Jasmine White Rice dunked into it.

Nicely Soaked with the Broth, they tasted Decent as a Pseudo Porridge.

Quality of the Side Dishes

Nothing Special about the Half-Braised Egg, it was Slightly Salted. Not Super Firm and still Tender to the Bite.

The Pickled Cucumbers were Noticeably Sourish with a Slight Spicy Kiss on your Tongue. I reckon this is the Palette Cleanser of the Dish.

Quality of the Chinese Herbs

No Idea what any of them are called, but there were a Decent Amount of Pieces given. If you have eaten Herbal Soups like these, you'll probably be very familiar with them. I liked they were Boiled Soft and Tender to eat and didn't taste Too Overly Medicinal or had any 苦味.

Quality of the Chicken Pieces

Quite Large Cuts of what is a Mix of Breast and Wings. Breast Cut was Meaty but also Very Dry and Challenging to Swallow. The Wings went down easier. Not Chickeny at all, they have been Thoroughly Soaked with that Sweetish Herbal Broth.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM6.50 (S$2.10) isn't that bad a Price for a Mall Eatery. It is Gao Gao and taste acceptable as a HK Milk Tea.
What I was disappointed was the Broken Piece of Plastic I found. Safety Hazard indeed.

What if a Child Accidentally Swallows it? I think this Eatery needs to really look into this seriously before someone actually gets hurt.

At the Price of RM6.90 (S$2.20) is Totally and Completely Wrong in Everything for this 雙皮奶.

Nothing about this is Correct, from the Appearance, to the Texture, to the Taste to even its English Name. (Or it's Chinese Name come to think of it.)
 Don't bother with this.

At the Price of RM17.90 (S$5.70) isn't particularly Affordable for this Herbal Soup Dish, but it was the Most Decent out of the Bunch although Presentation could be better.

The Herbal Soup Quality isn't Amazing but it is Decent. The Amount of Herbs given didn't feel Stingy.
Eating the Rice soaked in this Broth like a Pseudo Porridge was Alright.

Overall, I would say this is a Typical Average Eatery with lots of Hits and Misses (More Misses) and Nothing that really Wowed me or convince me that this is a Place I can recommend. I was especially disappointed with the Broken Plastic Piece I found which actually made me Wary about the Rest of the Dishes. If I can find 1 Broken Plastic Piece in My Milk Tea, who knows if this is an Issue that also affect the Rest of the Eatery?

Today is April Fools Day, but this Safety Hazard is anything but Funny.

While this Place doesn't get my Lowest Score, I'm afraid I also cannot give it any Higher Score.
And even then I still would need to Caution anyone to take Special Care especially if you visit this with a Child.

My Personal Recommendation is to just Skip this Restoran just to be on the Safe Side. I have highlighted this issue as a Review on their Google Maps Entry.
I hope this Eatery look into this Broken Plastic Issue seriously and re-evaluate their Safety Check Procedures before someone gets hurt.
