This was an interesting Residential 住家 Styled of Restoran specializing in Homemade Woodfire-Styled Pizzas. Having said that, I felt the Location of this Eatery is somewhat Ulu and Remote. I took Grab here and I felt I was leaving Civilization Behind and entering into More Wilder Kampung Territory.

As such, I would highly recommend to take Grab or Drive to this place instead of Walking. Despite the Location being abit Ulu, I had no troubles calling Grab to enter and exit the Place even on a Tuesday Evening at 8.00pm. As soon as I arrived, there is a Delicious Smokey Aroma of course coming from their Unique Woodfire Ovens located at the back.

The Actual Location looks like Someone's Landed Property that is Nicely Done up as a Restoran as you can see. Very Instagrammable 打卡区.

Although it was Not Airconditioned, it still felt Airy and Comfortable. As such I would recommend to visit this Place in the Evenings if you can, which is also the time where they turn on the Beautiful Lights to this place which I felt added alot to the Atmosphere.

The Actual Woodfire Ovens are located at the Back and they were really Adorable. The Staffs were also Very Friendly and Welcoming and allowed me to take Photos of the Ovens. While they can understand English, abit of Basic Malay would make it easier to order here. Really Super Friendly Young Lads as you can see! Love his Genuine Joyous Smile!

Although not Crowded on a Tuesday Night, I observed more people started streaming in from 7.50pm onwards, although its still not until Full House Level of Crowds. Anyway it took 3 Mins for the Lychee Tea and 11 Mins for the Pizza to be served up. 11 Mins sounds about right for the time to freshly bake a Homemade Pizza like this.

Lychee Tea O (Hot) = RM4.50

Ordered this because it seems so unusual to drink a Hot Version of this Classic Drink.
Noticeably Very Sweet, there are 7 Pieces of Lychee within. I think its made from Canned Lychees.

This Beverage tasted exactly how you'd imagine it taste except that its a Hot Drink which for some reason makes it taste more like a Tonic Drink. Hahaha if you want to indulge in a Sweet Beverage but also don't want to feel like you're drinking something Unhealthy, I guess this will help? Really unusual to drink a Hot Version of a Lychee Drink.

Qulai Signature Pizza (Regular) = RM19.00

Regular is about a Palm Sized with 6 Slices. Smells really Nice and Cheesy. The Pizza Dough isn't anything Artisinal and tastes like a Regular Self-Raising Flour sort of Dough. That said, I thought it does have a Slightly Breadier Bite Texture for a Pizza of this type.

I appreciate they did not just use an Off-The-Shelf Pizza Base as I could see them kneading the Dough.
It may not be a Very Complex Pizza Dough, but there is at least Effort into these which I appreciated.

As I bite into this, the 1st thing I got was a Taste of Mushrooms followed by Chicken Sausage and an Ocassional Meaty Chew from Chicken Breast Pieces. I'll be very honest though, this tasted Very Similar to the type of Off-Brand Pizza that you would usually order from a Food Delivery Service. Hahaha this also taste similar to a Homemade Pizza I make at Home using the same type of Dough.

And of course a Quickshot Sweetness from the Random Pineapple Pieces. What this is, is basically a Cross between a Chicken Sausage Pizza with Hawaiian. Yes for Pizza Purists out there who are probably looking at this and screaming in Horror, this Pizza has Pineapple. It is what it is.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM4.50 (S$1.50) for this Lychee Tea O, I thought this was a Reasonable Price.

This is essentially a Classic Lychee Drink but a Hot Version which I thought was very Unusual. It tastes exactly how you'd imagine it to taste like. I neither like nor dislike this. I just find it Unusual that's all.

At the Price of RM19.00 (S$6.20) for this Regular Sized Pizza is also a Very Reasonable Price to pay. As I mentioned in the Main Review, this tasted like a Cross between a Chicken Sausage Pizza with Hawaiian.

Similar to the type of Off-Brand Pizza that you would usually order from a Food Delivery Service. Nothing Artisanal or Special about the Dough, its just a Simple Self-Raising Flour type of Homemade Mix.

What I am impressed is the Actual Woodfire Oven itself. It looks like they built it themselves and of course there is still a Certain Amount of Skill and Handling to be able to bake something in such an Oven so I do respect that.

If you are a Baker, you will understand that it already takes time and practice to "Understand the Temperament" of a Modern Convection Oven.
Now I'd imagine it would be even More Challenging to learn how to work with such a Classic Woodfire one. Without a Modern Temperature Gauge as far as I could see, using this Traditional Oven to Bake is really about "FEELING" so to speak hahaha.

Overall I have no issues with this place. The Location may be a tad Ulu, but the Place was done up nicely and Food Prices felt affordable. Most Importantly, I appreciate how Friendly and Welcoming the Staffs were. Really a Bunch of Very Friendly and Jolly Young Lads. The Genuine Friendliness that I felt from them was really the Main Reason that I lifted their Score for the Review. Just look at that Bright Friendly Smile from this Young Lad.

If you are ok with the Prices on the Menu and is also ok that this is a Pizza Place that isn't 100% Authentic Italian (they do use Pineapples), and can accept that the Pizza Taste is not unlike those Off-Brand Food Delivery Pizzas, I can recommend to give this a Try if you are craving for some Pizzas and is also looking for a More Unique and Interesting Dining Location here in Kulai. Especially if you are a Baker yourself, do check out their Unique Woodfire Oven!
