As I did my research on the Eateries in Taman Perling, apparently this place is considered one of the Most Famous Curry Mee in this Area. 🍜 Its so Famous, some people even proclaim this to even be the Best Curry Mee in JB! 😳
Its a Large Eatery with a Very Faded Signboard as you can see. I reckon this place has been around for many years already seeing how Faded the Signboard looked. 👍 Although not Full House on a Thursday Morning at 8.30am, there were noticeably quite alot of Local Customers within. Quite impressive considering that the Area its in felt like quite Quiet Neighbourhood. 🤔

The Owners are a Friendly but Shy Middle Age Couple. There was a Staff grilling some Otak Otaks outside and it smelt very nice. 😋 It took 2 Mins for their Curry Mee to be served up, and 4 Mins for the Otak. Everything was up within 4 Mins.
1 Otak = RM1.30 per Piece
Ordered this to try because of how nice it smelled. 😋 Its served Very Hot Fresh off the Grill. 🔥
The Otak itself is not a Big Piece. Appearance looks Dry on the Outside, but the Inner Filling Meat is Juicy Hot.

The Fish Paste is not Overpowering and there is a Lingering Taste of Turmeric that permeates the Whole Thing. 🫚 It has a Slightly Elevated Level of Spiciness but nothing that will bite your Tongue. 🌶️ Acceptable Tasting Otak but nothing really Mind-Blowing.
Curry Mee (Small) = RM8.50
THIS is why I'm here in the first place. As you can see, you can either order Noodles or Rice to go with the Curry. I chose Noodles for my Carb. 🍜 Wow the Curry for this Curry Mee is So Thick! 😳

The Type of Curry they serve for this is the Chinese Chicken Curry Style type of Curry. 🍲 Super Thick and Gao Gao Gritty Type. This is the First Curry Mee in JB that I've encountered that uses this type of Curry Gravy because most others are just Variations of Laksa Type of Gravy. 🤔 Really taste exactly like Grandma's Chicken Curry. ♥️ So Thick, Rich and Creamy with a Nice Power Saltiness to it that never overstays its Welcome. Power. 👍

If you order Noodles like I did, because of the Super Thick Consistency of the Curry, the Dish feels like eating Mee Rebus. 😋 Imagine slurping Mee Rebus but instead of the Mee Rebus Gravy, substitute it with Chinese-Styled Chicken Curry instead. This was exactly how I felt when I was eating this. 🍜 Both Rice and Noodles pair Well with this Curry. Its just what type of Carbs you prefer only.

Of course not forgetting the Chicken Pieces within. 🐔🍗 Even for the Small I ordered, there are 4 Big Solid Pieces of Chicken of Various Bone-In Thick Cuts as you can see. 👍 Big and Meaty, Breast Meat was Not Dry and Very Nice to Chew. Thigh and Drummy were Soft and Tender. 😋 Amount of Meat really felt very Generous for the Price. 口口有肉. 😋 And they soaked up that Beautiful Curry so well. ♥️

There is also Half a Potato and its Creamy Melt in Mouth Smooth. 🥔 Also 1 Big Taupok cut into 2 Pieces they work well like a Sponge to Soak up all that Curry. 😋 Yellow Noodles are used and while they're most likely from a Package, not Homemade, the Amount of Noodles felt Very Generous for the Price. 👍

There are no See Hum (Cockles) or Pig Blood in this Curry Mee, so do take note if these are important in a Curry Mee for you. 🤔 This is Purely a Chinese-Styled Chicken Curry type of Curry Mee. The Soul of the Dish definitely is their Beautiful Curry. ♥️ Now this is what I call a Rich Curry! Like I mentioned, this is basically Grandma's Chicken Curry right here. ♥️ That said, because this Curry is the Super Thick Gao Gao type, actually ordering Rice would probably pair better with it. Basically what you end up is a Chicken Curry Rice. 🍛

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At RM1.30 (S$0.40) for 1 Otak, this was a Reasonable Price to pay for what it is. Its Decent and Acceptable as an Otak but I thought it was nothing really special. 🤔 Eating this with Curry was alright, it didn't improve or worsen the taste. If you mouth itchy feel like adding it as a Side Dish, sure why not. 👍
At RM8.50 (S$2.60) for the Curry Mee, this was Absolutely Worth the Money for sure! ♥️ The Quality of Curry is exactly the type that I loved most. So Thick, Gao Gao and Creamy. ♥️ THIS is how I imagined Malaysia Curry Mee to actually taste like when I first heard of it, instead of the Mostly Laksa Variation around. 😅
Most surprised with how Generous they are with Chicken Pieces even for the Small that I ordered. 🐔🍗 They were Big, Fat, Meaty and Juicy and paired perfectly with the Curry. 😋 Everything else also worked Very Well and Nothing Clashed. This was a Very Satisfying and Filling Meal. I was so happy with the Meal, I even went up to the Owners and gave them a Thumbs Up. 👍 They appreciated the Gesture.
Ultimately is this the Best Curry Mee in all of Taman Perling or even the Whole of JB? 🤔 I haven't eaten enough Curry Mee in JB so I can't really say, 😅 but this one sure comes VERY CLOSE! 👍 If you enjoy Chinese-Styled of Thick Thick Gao Gao Chicken Curry cooked like Grandma's Style you will definitely enjoy this one. 😋 Both Noodles and Rice work, but I'll have to lean closer to Rice for this one because of how Thick this Curry was. 🍛 Really Friendly Owners and Comfortable Environment, I have absolutely no issues giving this Amazing Curry Mee/Rice my Highest Top Score. Highly Recommended! 👍
