If you are a Regular Visitor to JB, this Kinsahi Franchise should not be Unfamiliar to you. Its a Very Regularly Seen Japanese Restaurant that can be found in most Major Shopping Malls all over JB. 🤔 As you can see in the Photos and Videos, the Restaurant is Renovated with the Clean Lines and Soft Lighting that you'd expect from a Japanese Restaurant.

Background Music they play are some Nice Contemporary J-Pop Songs. 🎵🎶 Compared to Arashi Hotpot which I reviewed previously, I feel Aesthetically, Kinsahi looks and feels more Authentically (Stereotypically) Japanese in Design. 🇯🇵 That said though, there are a Few Bumps on the Floor at this Outlet which I almost tripped over, so be careful of where you walk in this place. 🤔

The Staffs are Very Friendly and Polite, and even though they're not Native Japanese, I'm quite impressed that their Pronunciation of "Irasshaimase" いらっしゃいませ (Welcome) actually sounded quite Accurate and On Point. 👍 They are very Attentive and Responsive because when I accidentally dropped my Chopstick, I had a Staff Member who reacted almost immediately with providing me with a Replacement. Impressive. 👍

Every Table will have a Wet Towel Pack. I don't know if this is Chargeable or not since I did not use mine. 🤔

Ordering of Food is through an Ipad on your Table. They have a Very Huge Menu Listing. 😳 It took them 10 Mins to set up and serve up the Ishikari Nabe Hotpot.

鲑鱼头锅 Ishikari Sake Nabe (Miso) = RM32.90

The Actual Name of this Dish is called Ishikari Nabe 石狩鍋. Its a Salmon Based Hotpot that originates from Hokkaido Japan. 🐟 While I've never been to Hokkaido to eat the Authentic Real Dish, I've made it myself before, so I was intrigued at how an Actual Commercial Japanese Restaurant would approach this. 🤔 This is a Hotpot Set meant for 1 Pax.

The Condiment that they serve for this is a Mild Tasting Kewpie Sesame Mayo.

Taste is Sweetish and Savory and Sesame Taste is Not Overly Strong. 👍 This is most likely from the Kewpie Bottle and not mixed by themselves.

This Salmon Hotpot consists of:

🐟 Half a Salmon Head
🍜 Some Glass Noodles
🍄 1 Shitake Mushroom
🍄 Some Big Head Enoki Mushrooms
🍄 Some Small Head Enoki Mushrooms
◻️ 2 Pieces of White Tofus
🥕 1 Slice of Carrot cut into a Flower Shape
🥬 Some Napa Cabbages for Base
🥬 Some Stalks of Green Scallion

When you choose this, you can also have a Choice of either Miso or Kimchi. Being a Japanese Dish, of course Miso is the Original Taste. 👍 I like the Miso-Based Soup Broth, it tasted Mild and Smooth. 😋 The Presence of Salmon is Noticeable but its not Overly Strong. I thought they did a Nice Job of Balancing both Miso and Salmon here, with Neither One Dominating too much over the other. 🐟

Although only Half a Salmon Head, the Amount of Meat feels reasonable for 1 Pax. 👍 Soft and Tender, I also like that some Parts are Quite Fatty and Creamy. It does taste a Tad Fishy but thats the Nature of Salmon itself. Decent Tasting. 😋

All the Mushrooms work well enough and taste fresh. 🍄 They provide a Nice Mushroomy Chew and also helped Flavour the Hotpot. I also enjoyed the White Tofus which are Very Ultra Soft and has a Melt in Mouth in Texture. 😋

While the Amount of Glass Noodles aren't Stingy, they're also not alot considering they are supposed to be the Main Carb of the Dish. 🤔 If you can eat Rice, I would recommend adding a Bowl of Rice to this for a More Filling Meal. 🍚

-----------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At a Total Combined Cost of RM38.15 (S$11.50) for this, I feel this is a Reasonable Price to pay for what it is. 👍  Although the Only Protein is the Salmon, I feel the Amount is acceptable for 1 Pax.
Because this is Salmon, it is a Stronger More 重口味 Tasting Fish. 🐟 Ultimately, whether you like this Dish or not really depends on how much you like Salmon itself, because this Hotpot is Very Salmony which some people may find too Jelak. 🤔 As mentioned, if you can eat Rice, I would recommend to addon a Bowl of Rice to this for a More Filling Meal. 🍚

Personally, I thought the Dish here is done just about right and I thought the Mix of Salmon and Miso they used here balanced each other and worked together well. 👍 For me, this was Not too Salmony and Not too Salty. No Idea if this tastes Authentic to the Real Thing since I've never been to Hokkaido before, but this was a Nice and Comforting Broth that is especially Delicious and Comforting for a Cold Weather or a Rainy Day. ❄️🌧️

Enjoying a Nice Hotpot at this Good Looking Japanese Restaurant with Decent Service after some Shopping was a Very Nice Experience that I can recommend. 👍
Have you eaten from this Eatery here in KSL City Mall? I'd love to know how you think of them!
