With a Full 5 Stars on over 750 Reviews in Google Maps, this is quite a Popular Eatery in Aeon Mall Tebrau City. 😳 I think its a China-Styled? Boiled Fish Cuisine Concept 🐟 that I think gained quite alot of traction in Recent Years.
Weekday Lunch Promo Discount
This was a Very Big Factor that attracted me in the first place. 👍 If you visit during Weekdays from 10.00am to 3.00pm, you can enjoy a Very Nice Discount for their Signature Fish (1-2pax).
Instead of paying the Original Price of RM78.00 (S$24.00), the price is discounted to RM58.00 (S$18.00). 👍 Remember, this Promo is ONLY for Weekdays Only. Hahaha another Big Incentive for visiting JB during Weekdays instead of Weekends! 😄
The Restaurant itself has a Modern Quirky Contemporary Concept Look. The Name is of course a reference to the Late Bruce Lee and the Logo is a Cute Cartoon Caricature of him. 😅 The Whole Place adopts a Completely Monochrome Black and White Colour Scheme. 🤔 Really Bold Choice of Colouring for a Restaurant. It almost felt like I stepped into another Dimension and completely stripped of my senses here. 😅

There is a Nice Appetizing Aroma of Grilled/Boiled Fish wafting all about. 😋 Staffs are Very Polite and Friendly and the Background Music they play here are some Modern Contemporary Chinese Pop Songs. 🎵🎶 There were quite alot of Customers around at 2.30pm on a Friday Afternoon although not Full House. Ordering of Food is thru Pencil and Paper Method. 📝 The Signature Fish was up in 2 Mins and the Rice was up in 4 Mins. Everything was up within 4 Mins.
Wuchang Half White Rice = RM1.60
When I browsed through all the Google Reviews about this place, the one common thing that particularly amused me was that most of them were giving Very High Praises for their Rice of all things. 🍚😅 So apparently this is "Wuchang Rice" and it is supposedly a Special Type of White Rice? 🤔 So of course I gave this a go and ordered a Half-Bowl to try.
I thought they way they presented this looked Adorable. 😄 Instead of just putting lesser rice into the Bowl, they go thru the effort of actually dividing it cleanly. Shaping it almost like 1 half of the Taijitu Yin Yang Symbol. ☯️

As for the Rice itself, i'll be very honest and say that I thought it didn't smell or taste any different from a Regular Normal Jasmine White Rice. 🤔 If you really want me to deepdive and really analyze this, I guess it has a Very Slightly Hua Hua Texture and a Slight Earthier Taste? 🤔
But seriously though, on a whole I don't really find this Rice any special. 🤔 I really have no idea why it is being so Highly Praised in Google Reviews of this place. 😅 Maybe because i'm not a Rice Connoisseur. 🍚 Different Strokes for Different Folks I guess.

Signature Fish 1-2 pax (Non-Oil, Less Spicy, Thick Slices) = RM58.00 (Original Price is RM78.00)
This is of course their Main Signature Dish. 😋 I could be wrong but I think its cooked in a Chinese 水煮 Water-Boiled Style. 🐟 Such China-Styled Boiled Fish has been quite Popular and has been quite a Mainstay in Singapore in Recent Years. This was a Really Large and Wide Plate when it was served up! 😳 Of course I took my time to extract and count every piece to see how much Fish they really give for this. 😅 There are a Total of 19 pieces of Thick Cut Slices all cut in General Uniform Bite Sized Pieces. 👍 As you can see in my Photo, there are so much pieces, that the Small Bowl I used to hold them was barely enough to contain them. 😳

As for the Amount of Soup, if we count 1 Small Bowl as 4 Ladles of Soup, I'm guessing there are 4 Small Bowls worth at least. 🥣 I said I guess because I can't drink dry this Soup due to its nature. 😅 I'll explain it later in the Review.
One thing that slightly disappointed me was the Appearance of the Actual Dish. 🤔 In the Menu it had a Very Bright Vibrant Yellow Glow, but the Actual Dish is actually a Much More Earthy Duller Milky Look accentuated by the Green from the Saurkraut it has. 🤔 The Dish itself has a Somewhat Smokey Aroma.
Quality of the Soup
The First Taste of the Soup was an Elevated Intense Mix of Savoury, Sourish and Saltiness of Saurkrauet Suan Cai all at once. 😋 This is the Main Taste Profile of this Soup. If you have never tasted this before, this Level of Sourness may feel abit Too In Your Face, but you will quickly get used to it. 👍 Not at all Milky despite its Milky Look. Not a bad tasting soup to be fair, but because of this Elevated Level of Sourness, I feel this is a Soup that is not actually meant to Drink Dry hence the reason why I wasn't able to accurately measure how much Soup they actually gave. But feel free to drink it if you're ok with it. 👍

The Least Spicy Variation I selected still has a Slightly Mild Spicy Heat. 🌶️ Its not the Very Spicy Stabbing Pain type of Spicy, but felt more like a Spicy Warmth in your Throat. There is Nothing Mala about this, and I thought this Level of Spiciness is Mild and Smooth for me. 👍
The Veggie Component within the Soup
Suan Cai is of course the Main Component that gave the Soup its Unique Savoury Sourish Taste Profile. 🥬 There are alot and biting into them gave a Nice Satisfying Veggie Crunch. 😋 They are Sourish but not Overly So. Its a Very Smart Choice to use Suan Cai because it not only forms the Core Taste Profile of the Dish, it can also be used to help 去腥 reduce any Fishiness from the Fish. 🐟
There are also some pieces of Radish Slices. There aren't alot of these when compared to the Suan Cai, but when you do bite into one, it provided a Softer Bite Texture. 😋 I thought the Alternate Soft and Slightly Crunchy Textures of these 2 Veggies worked together well and did not clash. 👍

The Fish Pieces within the Soup
As I mentioned, there are a Total of 19 Pieces of Thick-Cut Slices within. 🐟 No idea what type of Fish they used, but they have a Nice Soft Bite Texture, 😋 but also not so soft that they completely Flake and Crumble when you pick them up. 👍 Every Single One of them were Boneless so you don't have to worry about biting into one.

Completely Not Fishy at all, also Not Salty, I thought they have a Very Clean Savoury Taste 😋 especially accentuated with that Saurkraut Broth they've been so thoroughly soaked in. Very Easy to eat, they slide smoothly down my throat with every bite. 😋 The Quality of Fish they have here is not bad. 👍 And I liked that there are so many pieces of them for me to enjoy. I never once felt any sort of "Fishy Jelakness" even after eating so many pieces. 👍

Eating Fish, Suan Cai and Rice together really fit together very well. 👍 Abit of Meaty Softness from the FIsh, 🐟 a slight Veggie Crunch from the Saurkraut 🥬 all mixed with a Savoury Sourness from the Soup 🥣 while the Rice works hard to simultaneously help soften the Sourness Blow 🍚 makes this a Terrific Delicious Combo.
Every Component in this Dish carried their Own Weight and did their individual job well to elevate the Whole Dish together in Perfect Harmony. Nothing tried to Outdo and Outperform or try to clash the dish. Very Nice. 👍

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
I'll be honest, when I wanted to try this place, I was very hesitant because of its Original Price of RM78.00 (S$24.00). 🤔 The Discounted Price of RM58.00 was the Biggest Motivation Push for me to give me to try. 👍 Other than the somewhat lackluster look of the Actual Dish itself as compared to the Photo on the Menu, 🤔 the Overall Dish itself was well made and it does taste not bad. 😋 Personally, I'm impressed with the 19 Pieces of Fish they gave. Amount felt Generous and the Fish Quality themselves are Very Decent. 👍
The Wuchang Rice at either Half Bowl RM1.60 (S$0.50) or Full Bowl RM2.80 (S$0.90) 🍚 is a Reasonable Price to pay although I feel you need to have Realistic Espectations about it. 😅 Its decent for what it is and pairs well with the Main Dish, but don't expect something Special. 😅 At the end of the Day, I feel it doesn't taste much different from Regular White Jasmine Rice. I have no issues with either the Overall Dining Environment, Service Level or the Taste of the Dishes. 👍 Its really how they priced their Main Dish which is the Main Deciding Point for me.

Would I try this again if they no longer have their RM58.00 Lunch Discount in the Future? 🤔 Probably not. Because the Original Price of RM78.00 (S$24.00) for me just feels a Tad Expensive. RM58.00 (S$18.00) feels like a More Acceptable Sweet Spot for me. But thats just how I personally feel about it. 🤔 Have you eaten from this Eatery here in Aeon Mall Tebrau City? I'd love to know to know how you think of them! 😄
