This is apparently a Very Famous Yong Tau Foo Eatery here in TUTA. Its so Famous that even when I chit-chat with Owners of other Eateries when I patronize their Food Stalls and discussing about the Foods available in TUTA, this Ankee 安记酿豆腐 is the 1st place that many of them will recommend as a Famous Eatery to eat. 😳 Really Impressive and Really Humble of these Food Stall Owners to recommend other people like this. 👍

Unique Card Menu System to order the Ingredients

Instead of the Usual Method where you have all the Ingredients laid out on a Rack for you to individually pick and choose, everything here including Drinks and Carbs (Rice / Noodles) are all represented by Picture Cards and are all laid out neatly right at the Entrance even before you enter the Restaurant. 🤔

I like that All these Picture Cards have a Sample Picture of the Item with their Prices Clearly Shown so you will know exactly how much you're expected to pay. 👍 I also like this system because the Ingredients are kept in the Kitchen and only cooked upon order, they won't attract Flies or Dry Out compared to if they were laid out the Usual Regular Way on a Rack. Its a Simple yet Brilliant Solution to elevate a Yong Tau Foo Dining Experience. 👍

📋 Here is the Card Menu for this Eatery.
Prices are Accurate as of the Date of the Post.

The Staffs were Very Polite and Friendly and they were Very Clear in the Explaination of their Ordering System. Seeing that I was a Brand New Customer, they even gently guided me to where is the Condiments Station. Friendly Smiles All Around. 😄 This is an Excellent 1st Customer Entry Experience for sure.

How to Order your Food

1) Before entering the Restaurant, pick and choose whatever items you want for your Yong Tau Foo.
Drinks and Carbs (Rice/Noodles) are also chosen using this Card System.

2) Handover the Cards you picked to the Staff Member. Let them know if you'd like Dry / Soup / Curry for your YTF. 🍲 They will will then give you a Dine-In Card. Keep this with you because you will need to use it to pay at the Cashier later.

3) The Condiments Station is also near the Entrance, so help yourself to whatever Condiments you want. They are Free of Charge for you to take. 👍 In fact, one of the Signboards shows that if there is a Particular Condiment Sauce you like to Dapao, let the Staff know, and they will pack it for you for an Additional RM5.00

4) Go to the Dining Area and wait for your Food which will be served up to you accordingly.

The Interior of the Restaurant

There weren't Much Customers when I was there on a Saturday Morning at 7.30am. The Dining Area is Air-Conditioned and it was Cooling. The Whole Place had a Very Appetizing Curry Laksa Smell Aroma. 😋
The Signature 鱼饼 Fish Cakes were the 1st to be up in 6 Mins and the Main Yong Tau Foo itself was up in 8 Mins. Everything was up in 8 Mins.

The Condiments Station

Before we get into the Main Dishes, lets discuss about the Condiments. 🤔
There are a Total of 12 Condiments Available at the Station and as mentioned, they are Free of Charge, so Feel Free to help Yourself. I like that they are all labelled so you know what to expect.

You can check the Photo Collection how they look like. 📷 Because some Condiments are Very Common ones such as "Green Chilli", I'll be skipping those and focus on those that are More Unique.

Kampong Koh Chilli Sauce

This tasted like a Garlic Chilli with a Touch of Sweetish Honey. 🍯 Taste like a Mix and not from a Generic Bottle.

Asam Pedas

Sharply Spicy and Saltish. The Spiciness will Bite your Tongue and Linger. 🌶️

Belacan

The Belacan-ness in this is Not the Overly Strong type but it is there. Has a Sweetish Taste and while it didn't initally taste Spicy, the Spiciness will slowly creep up on you and linger although it also isn't the Fiery Spicy type.

Sweet Sauce

This tastes like the Same Type of Sweet Sauce that you normally find on a Chee Cheong Fun. Has a Caramelly Sweet Taste.

Sambal

Very Mild to Very Low Spiciness. 🌶️ This is Haebee Based and has a Very Gritty Texture.

Pork Lard

Pork Lard is Rarely Seen for a YTF. At least not the YTF in our Singapore Versions. 🤔 This is not the Super Crackly type of Pork Lard that you expect but rather has a Softer Biscuity Bite Texture. Very Nice 猪油香味. 😋

鱼饼 Fish Cakes (Signature) = RM5.90 each

This was a Side Dish that I chose to pair with the YTF because apparently it is considered a Signature Dish here. The Chilli that came with this is their "Kampong Koh Chilli Sauce".
I think its 1 Long Fish Cake thats cut into pieces. This taste quite good. 😋 No Idea what Fish they used here, but it has a Soft and Tender Bite Texture. Freshly Fried, the Skin is Crackling Crispy and has a Nice 油香味. 👍 This has some Quality to it, not some Cheap Supermarket Type of Fishcake.

酿豆腐 Yong Tau Foo (Soup, No Noodles, No Rice)

Consists of:
猪肉水饺 Dumpling (Signature) = RM2.50 each
白豆腐 White Tofu (Signature) = RM2.20 each
炸豆干 Fried Dried Tofu  = RM2.20 each
猪血 Pig Blood = RM2.50 each
蕹菜 Kangkong = RM2.00 each

When this was Served Up, it had a Very Savoury Delicious Aroma. 😋 One Taste of this Soup and I'm not Exaggerating here, but you can immediately taste that this is SO MUCH HIGHER LEVEL compared to our Typical Singapore Diluted type of Yong Tau Foo Soup lor! 😳 Very 清甜 with a Very Delicious Savoury Undertone of Cuttlefish. 🦑 Aiyoh cannot fight lah, our Typical Standard SG YTF Soup really cannot compare to this. 😅

猪肉水饺 Dumpling (Signature)

This was a Very Big 水饺 Dumpling. 🥟 Skin is Soft and Smooth. The Filling within were made out of Minced Meat Bak Chor which had a Slight Elevated Porkiness 🐷 and this was accentuated with a Soft Crunch from some Carrot Bits. 🥕 If you like 水饺, you will probably enjoy this one too.

白豆腐 White Tofu (Signature)

I'm surprised to find what seems to be a Common Item as their Signature but this is Absolutely Not the Same as our SG Version. 😳 For Starters, this is Much Bigger in Size and has a Very Very Soft Bite Texture with a Very Noticeable Natural Taste of Soya Bean.

There is also abit of Fish Paste that was Slightly Firmish and Lightly Salted. That said, it does taste quite Plain in the Middle of it and the Soya Bean taste can be a Tad Strong, so this is best paired with some Condiment. 🤔 This White Tofu is at a Much Higher Level that our Common SG YTF White Tofus can never reach. 😅 Taste really is like 一个天, 一个地. Eating this feels Very Gek Sim man. This really shows how 偷工减料 our SG Version really is. 🙄

炸豆干 Fried Dried Tofu

Another Classic YTF Ingredient. Has a Nice Soft Texture with abit of the Same Fishpaste as found in their White Tofu. Again, this is Much Higher Level Quality compared to Singapore Version of YTF. 👍

猪血 Pig Blood

The Amount of Pig Blood feels quite Generous as there are Many Small Pieces. 👍 Firmish in Bite Texture. I also thought this Version's Gaminess 血腥 is Noticeable. 🤔 I can accept this, but I feel this Gaminess 血腥 may turn some people off. That said, pairing this with the Fried Crispy Pork Lard was an Excellent Way to tone down the Gaminess. 😋 Eating Fried Pork Lard with Pig Blood is a Combo that I never knew I needed in my Life. OMG so Good! ❤️

蕹菜 Kangkong

Honestly, nothing special about this one. I just wanted a Veggie Crunch Component and Kangkong is a Standard Veggie used in YTF. 🥬 Tastes Clean, No Sandy Texture. Pretty Standard Taste.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At RM5.90 (S$1.80) for their Signature 鱼饼 Fish Cake, I feel it is worth the Money because it really does taste very good when Freshly Fried. 😋 This really does not taste like a Typical Cheap Supermarket Product. S$1.80 I feel is worth the money to give this a Try. 👍

At RM11.40 (S$3.50) for the 5 Items I took without any Noodles/Rice, I'm sorry to say that I can no longer go back to eating our Singapore YTF anymore. 😅 Yong Tau Foo is such a Common Dish that we can find everywhere in Singapore and I never expected that anyone can make such a Gourmet Level out of it but here we are. 😅

Especially their Soup is so much Higher Level, it really makes the Version sold in our Typical SG Kopitiam taste so like Diluted in Comparison. 🙄 To be fair though, this IS a Dedicated YTF Specialty Eatery so of course their Standard has to be at a Much Higher Level.
But its not only the Soup. Even their Ingredients are done so well. 😋 Especially their White Tofu, you can really taste the Original Soya Bean Taste that went into the making of it. Thats how Fresh it tasted. 👍 How many times have you ever tasted any hint of Soya Bean in our SG YTF Version of White Tofu? Gek Sim man. Really Gek Sim. 🙄

At a Total Combined Price of RM18.30 (S$5.60) for Everything I ordered is Absolutely Worth the Money to give this a Try because of how much Higher Quality everything tasted here. 真的吃的出来是一个天一个地. 👍 In fact this place is so Good, I will be making this as my Base Minimum Benchmark when reviewing YTF in the Future.

Now I understand why this Restaurant is so Highly Regarded even by other Eatery Owners here in TUTA. Really Champion. 🏆
With such a Simple yet Brilliant Card Menu Ordering System ensuring Ingredients are only Cooked on Order and not left out in the Open to attract Flies or Dry Out, 👍 Affordable Price, Excellent Taste, Friendly and Helpful Staffs providing such a Nice 1st Customer Entry Experience, this Eatery EASILY gets my Highest Recommendation.
