粿條仔 Kway Teow Kia (KTK) is the JB Version of our Kway Chup. Unlike our SG Version of Bigger Flatter Kway, JB KTK makes use of Thin Kway Teow. This is a Classic Signature JB Dish. 👍 For the past 40+ years, whenever I go to any Kway Chup Stall in Singapore, I will usually order like this:
"Hello, 我一个人吃的, 全部料都参参, 不要猪皮, 给我一碗 Kway. 我在这里吃. 谢谢."
I even used this phrase to order Kway Chup in Kuching Sarawak and there are no problems. 👍 There has never been any issues, I am always able to get what I wanted. I'm not a Newbie so to speak when it comes to ordering Kway Chup. 👍And yet this Same Exact Phrase has NEVER WORKED whenever I'm in Malaysia JB. 🤔
Either the Stall Owner will give me a Confused Look and tell me they don't have a Portion for a Solo Diner (even though THEY DO HAVE THIS plainly written under their own Grab Food Menu), 🙄 or the Stall Owner will be Extremely Resistant even to the point of wanting to start a Quarrel with me. 🤦 Oh Dear Goodness. Hahaha, if you have been following this Food Blog, you will know how much issues I always have when ordering KTK in JB! 🤦
I am Very Happy to announce that I have FINALLY found the PERFECT JB Kway Teow Kia that FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED how I order KTK with ZERO PROBLEMS! 😄

About this 聯姐粿條仔 Kway Teow Kia
This 聯姐粿條仔 is actually a Food Stall located within this Kim Ling Kopitiam in Taman Perling. The Stall itself is considered as a 老字号 here in JB. 😄 It has Such a Special Status, that even its Stall is Uniquely Located in a Unique Dedicated Space of its own in this Kopitiam away from all the other Clusters of Food Stalls. 😳 This is Very Noticeable if you are here in the Actual Place.
The Owner 聯姐 herself is a Very Friendly and Jolly Elder Lady who was quietly cleaning some Vegetables and Processing some Ingredients at a Side-Table when I arrived. 😄 Really Welcoming and Friendly, she totally gives off a Very Motherly Vibe. ♥️
All I needed to do was told her my Usual "Hello, 我一个人吃的, 全部料都参参, 不要猪皮, 给我一碗 Kway. 我在这里吃. 谢谢." and she TOTALLY got what I meant. 😳 No Blur Blur, No Confusion, No Resistant or wanting to Fight Me. ♥️ I was initially abit wary when I made my request given my past experience with JB KTK, but she totally put me at ease. ♥️
FINALLY I found a JB Kway Teow Kia that actually understands how I order! ♥️ You have no idea how happy it made me feel! That said, I don't think they gave me 100% of all the Available Innards or Meats that they have, but I have no issues with it. Hahaha I'm already grateful that it did not escalate to something potentially awful like the one in Pelangi. Haiyo 谢天谢地 Already. 😅
Kopi O Kosong = RM1.90 (S$0.60)
This is of course ordered from the Kopitiam Drink Stall. Ok lah, standard robust Kopi-O Taste. ☕ Not Dilluted, but also not the Very Strong Smack you Awake type. Acceptable and Average.
聯姐粿條仔 Kway Teow Kia (1 Person Mixed, No Pig Skin) = RM11.00 (S$3.50)
The Chilli Condiment they serve with this has an Elevated Saltiness and Some Vinegary Sourness with a Mild Spiciness that won't bite your Tongue and also Doesn't Linger Long. 🌶️
Definitely feels like they mixed it themselves. Not Bad Chilli for Kway Teow Kia.
The KTK Soup Broth has a Delightful Herbly and 清甜 Sweetish Taste. 🍲 But one thing is they don't give alot of this Broth. 🤔 In fact as the Meal went on, I thought the Kway Teow sucked up alot of the Broth and it dried up quickly in the end. 😳
This was Very Unusual and is the 1st Time I'm seeing Soup Broth being sucked up like this.
The Thin Kway Teow itself felt Slightly Thicker than Usual. It had a Noticeably Chewy and Niam Niam Bite Texture especially when it got soaked up with all that Soup Broth. 🍜
Amount given is not alot. This was a Very Small Bowl of Kway Teow.
Pork Meat is cut into Small Pieces and they have a Robust Meaty Chew with No Pigginess. 🐷 Intestines were Tender and Chewy. There is a Slightly Elevated Level of Pigginess but not too much.
2 pieces of Tofu they served with this has unique little holes within that served to help soak up all that Braised Sauce. 😋 I liked that they immediately deflate in your mouth and expelled the Sauce all over. There is also 1 Whole Egg is given. 🥚 Its a Small One and is cut into Quarters. Standard Tasting for a Braised Egg.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At RM11.00 (S$3.50) for this Solo Diner Platter I ordered was affordable for what it was. 👍 Having said that, I feel the Portion of Kway Teow given wasn't alot, so if you are a Bigger Eater and want to eat more Carbs, you might want to order more. 🤔
I also thought the Amount of Soup Broth given felt Significantly Lesser compared to other KTK that I've visited. 🤔 I couldn't drink the Soup at the End of the Meal because of how little there was. I suppose you can ask for more Broth, so if you want you can just ask them. I'm sure they'll top up more for you. 👍
If I were to give my Honest Opinion of this KTK, I'd say its Decent and Above Average, but not Super Mind-Blowing. 🤔 If I were to score this normally, I would give my "Recommended" Score to this. I definitely can recommend to give this a try because it is Decent Tasting and Affordable for what it is. 👍
I am however giving this my My Highest Top Score simply because this is the 1st JB Kway Teow Kia that actually understood me without Confusion or any sort of Resistance or even want to Quarrel with me. 😅 You have no idea how happy that made me feel when I ate here. 聯姐 Herself is such a Nice Friendly Lady! ♥️
