This is one of the Earliest Opening Eatery in KSL City Mall that opens before the Mall's Official Opening Time of 10.00am. 👍 That said, although Google Maps reports they open at 9.00am, they only offically open for Business from 9.15am onwards. 🕜
When I was there at 9.05am, there are quite alot of Customers all waiting outside waiting for them to open as you can see here.

Its a Nicely Renovated Modern Koptiam Eatery. Not Air-Conditioned. But it still felt Airy and Cooling in the Morning despite also not having any Ceiling Fans too. Although I'd expect it to get Much Warmer in the Afternoon Period. 🤔 No Free WIFI is available and ordering of Food is thru a Paper Menu using Pen and Paper. 📝 The Staffs are Friendly and keep to themselves and they will take away your Plates once you're done eating, although they are polite when doing it.

As I looked through the Menu, I felt most of the Food Items they offer are Very Carb Heavy. 🤔 You might want to take note of this if this is an issue for you. Among the Google Reviewers, the 2 Most Raved and Popular Items seems to be their Chwee Kueh and Fried Radish Kueh so I gave them a go. 😋
Kopi was served up in 2 Mins, Chwee Kueh was up in 4 Mins and the Fried Radish Kueh was up in 8 Mins. Everything was up in 8 Mins which was quite impressive considering the Amount of People when I was there. 👍
101 古油咖啡乌 Butter Kopi-O-Kosong = RM5.20
Also known in the West as "Bulletproof Coffee", this was quite a Trending "Health Food" a Couple of Years ago for Americans looking for a Low Carb Keto Diet. ☕ This was especially Amusing for us South-East Asians because the same "Kopi Guyu" has been a Mainstay for dunno how many Donkey Years already. 😅 I think this started from our Grandfather's Grandfather time. Maybe even longer. 👴 The Drink is exactly what it is, basically a Cup of Coffee with a Slab of Butter. ☕🧈

I thought the one here is served in a Slightly Larger Cup than usual with a Nice Noticeable Aroma of Butter. Quite a Strong Coffee with a Noticeable Bitter Presence with No Siap Siap Aftertaste. 😋 When mixed together thoroughly, I thought the Butter is mostly lost in the Coffee and you don't really taste the Butter anymore. 🧈
Don't worry, the Coffee doesn't taste Wierd or Oily. 😅 Its mostly just the Coffee although sometimes there is abit of Butter Aftertaste that sneaks in. Not Bad Version of Kopi Guyu. 👍
350 手工水粿 Chwee Kueh = RM6.90
I am quite impressed with the Presentation when this was first served up. 👍 Amount looks Big and Generous and slightly different compared to how Chwee Kuehs are normally served in Singapore especially with that Black Sauce they used. I really like that the Plate itself is Served Hot. 🔥

The Sambal has a Soft Texture with No Grittiness. It has a Delicious Savoury Haebee Presence. 😋 There is an Elevated Level of Spiciness and Saltiness but also Not Overly Salty. I also thought it had a Nice Richness about it. 🌶️ Nice Tasting Sambal. The Black Sauce that the Chwee Kuehs are sitting on has a Mild Sweetness and Not Overly Sweet.

The Chwee Kuehs themsevles are Standard Sized. Amount of Chai Poh given are not alot and they are the Sweet Tasting Type. 😋 The Kueh taste Soft and Smooth although there is no 油香味. Nowhere close to the Fragrant 油香味 that is present in our Famous SG Jian Bo Chwee Kueh 🤔 but its still Tasty. Actually the Main Taste Profile mostly comes from that Sweetish Black Sauce that its sitting on. The Chai Poh themselves surprisingly don't contribute much except a Slight Veggie Crunch Texture.

Adding the Sambal definitely Greatly Improved and Elevated the Taste because now there is an Additional Sweetish Haebee 香味 Spiciness. 🌶️ Overall, while this is Not Considered "Elite" Chwee Kueh Level for me, it is still a Decent and Above Average Chwee Kueh. 👍 Definitely Higher Level than Regular Standard Foodcourt Styled Chwee Kueh.
356 自制煎萝卜糕 Pan-Fried Radish Cake = RM11.90
This is of course Cai Tao Kueh (CTK). Another Highly Raved Dish among Google Reviewers, again I liked that the Plate itself is served Hot. 🔥 Impressive Presentation, I thought the Amount of CTK is Acceptable for the Price. 👍 When it was first served up piping hot, there is a Very Noticeable Delicious Eggy 蛋香味 that permeates the Entire Dish. 🍳 Although No Trace of Wok Hei, I thought it still smelled Savoury Appetizing and Delicious. 😋 The Kueh themselves are in Big Pieces which I liked because they gave a Nicer Fuller Bite Texture.

That said, I don't feel they made the Kueh from Scratch and this is probably from a Package. 🤔 Bite Texture of the Kueh felt a Tad Firmer than Usual, and not the Soft Soft Type. What I do like is the 蛋香味 that I mentioned previously. This Egginess is really prominent in every bite. 口口蛋香. 🍳 Very Eggy Tasting, I feel they probably used at least 2 Eggs in the making of 1 Plate.

Other than the Prominent Eggy 蛋香味, the Overall Taste is Sweetish Saltish. 😋 More towards Sweet but also Not Overly Sweet Type. Saltiness is Considerably Milder and felt more like a Tease. The Taugeh and Spring Onion Stalks both help with Adding Colour and a Nice Soft Veggie Crunch. 🥬

One thing I'm very surprised is that there are No Sambal Provided in this CTK. 🤔 If you have extra Sambal Leftover from your Chwee Kueh, I would recommend to add them to this CTK which will elevate the Dish even more adding an Additional Haebee Dimension. 👍 Or you can just ask them for More Sambal, but do tell them you want the Sambal they serve from their Chwee Kueh.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At RM5.20 (S$1.60) for the Kopi-Guyu, I thought it was a Reasonable Price as the Coffee Quality ain't Bad, Very Decent Tasting. ☕
At RM6.90 (S$2.10) for the Chwee Kueh is also a Reasonable Price as long as you temper your Expectations and don't expect this to taste like our Famous Singapore Jian Bo Chwee Kueh. Its Decent Tasting and Above Average Quality. 😋
At RM11.90 (S$3.60) for the Fried Radish Kueh (CTK), I feel this is also a Reasonable Price to pay for the Amount given. Although there is No Wok Hei, I still found it Decent Tasting and Above Average Quality. 😋

Overall, I have no issues with this place and I liked that it is open for business even before KSL Mall's Official Opening Time. 👍 Although like I mentioned, I felt most of the Food Items offered in their Menu tend to be Carb Heavy so you do need to take note of this if this is an issue for you. 🤔 Have you eaten from this Eatery here in KSL City Mall? I would love to know how you think of them!
