Special Thanks to Loh Lee Nah for highlighting this Eatery to me.
This was a Very Unique "Farm to Table" Concept Restaurant that had opened at Tasek Central Mall in TUTA. 👨🌾 It uses a Mix of Hydroponic and Traditional Soil Method of growing Organic Vegetables that are then either sold in individual packs or incorporated into the Dishes which they cook directly in their own Cafe. 🥬🥕🌽
What is Hydroponic Farming?
Hydroponics at its Simplest Explaination is using a Nutrient Rich Water to replace Soil in the growing of Plants or Vegetables. 💧🥬 This is not a New Technique and I think we actually have a Few Homegrown Hydroponic Farms in Singapore. 🤔 I think we also have 1 Cafe that also utilizes this Hydroponics/Cafe Concept called "Memo Cafe" at Studio M Hotel, although it is at a much Smaller Scale compared to this one.
How to reach this place?
The Restaurant itself is located at the Top Floor of the Tasek Central Mall in TUTA, at the Same Level as the TGV Cinema at L4. You can reach it directly via the Escalator. 👍 Do take note, Tasek Central Mall itself has a Couple of Zones, and the Zone you want to be in is in Zone A. The Mall itself is a pretty quiet one and looks like it has seen better days in the past. 🤔

Exterior of the Restaurant
The Main Highlight is the Huge Sprawling Hydroponic / Traditional Farm as you can see in the Video. 👨🌾 Most of the Hydroponics Section are Out of Bounds to Visitors, but there are still some Sections that you can walk up to take a Closer Look. The Whole Place is Very Tastefully Designed and Cleanly Maintained. 👍

I actually think this would be a Nice Educational place to bring the Kids along to let them take a look at how Hydroponics Farming is done. 👦👧 They don't have any Educational Informational Pamphlets around though, as this is more a Commercial Farm rather than something built for Educational Purposes, but its still worth to bring them to visit nevertheless since Hydroponic Farming is not something that we see often in Singapore. 😄
Interior of the Restaurant
I keep calling this a Restaurant because it really does look more like a Restaurant than a Cafe. 😅 As you can see in my Video, the Dining Section is a Really Big Spacious Area. One thing though, although they have Air-Conditioning, it still feels Very Warm and Stuffy, 🥵 so I would recommend to try to sit nearer to a Fan if possible. Or if the Weather is Cooling, their Outside Seating Area is actually Very Nice too. 👍
It is also Very Cleanly Maintained and Staffed by Mostly Friendly Myanmmar Folks who keep to themselves. They aren't very Conversant in English but I still had no issues communicating with them. 👍

In addition to selling Food and Drinks, they also have a Refridgerator at the Side where Customers can purchase their Freshly Harvested Organic Vegetables straight from their own Farm. 🥬🌽🥕
Although I did not buy them, I thought the prices seems quite reasonable at RM2.00 (S$0.65) per Pack (5 Packs get 1 Pack Free) Cash Only Transaction for these.
Ordering of Food is thru a QR Menu (Free WIFI is available) and it took 5 Mins for my Salad to be served up.
As I waited for my Salad, I went up to their Counter to take a look and it was really nice to see my Salad being prepared Fresh in front of me. 😋
4E - Egg Salad 鸡蛋沙拉 (with Mentaiko Mayo 明台蛋黄酱) = RM8.90
I ordered this because of course I wanted to taste their Own Grown Hydroponic Vegetables. 🥬 That said, I'm not sure if 100% of the Veggies in this Bowl are really from their Own Farms though. I reckon items like Corn are probably sourced from somewhere else. 🌽🤔
I was immediately impressed with how large this Salad Bowl was. 👍 As you can see, this was a Beautiful Colourful Bounty! ❤️ The Amount of Veggies given look Very Generous and they are Very Nicely Presented. Consisting of Purple Cabbages, Baby Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Carrots, Corns and 1 Small Hardboiled Egg.

You can have a Choice of 4 Sauces and I chose Mentaiko Mayo for mine.
The Mentaiko Mayo was Alright. Saltish, Mayoey, Creamy and Savoury. 😋 Not a Mentaiko Connoiseur myself but I thought this tasted nice.

Mixing Everything Together, you have a Bite of Everything. 😋 The Veggies all tasted Very Clean and Fresh and although I thought the Egg was kindda Small, the Egg Yolk was Creamy and Delicious. 🥚 That said, mixing up everything like this, I thought the Mentaiko taste is kindda lost in the Mix and all I could taste now is More Mayo than Mentaiko. 😅

Overall, it still tasted very good though and was a Very Decent Tasting and Filling Healthy Fresh Salad. Hahaha, minus off the Mentaiko Mayo, this was certainly one of the Healthiest Meal I've had during my TUTA Trip! Tummy felt Very Comfortable after eating this. 😋
-------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM9.45 (S$2.90) for this Huge Bowl of Generous and Healthy Salad with Mentaiko Mayo, I thought this was definitely worth the money. 👍 You are absolutely not going to find a Similar Salad Bowl with this Much Veggies for Sub-S$3.00 in Singapore for sure! 😅 Even if you were you make your own, I also don't think it is possible to even hit Sub-S$3.00 especially if you factor in the Egg and Mentaiko Mayo. 🤔
The Salad tasted Very Fresh and Clean and the Mentaiko Mayo helped make this a Filling Meal without making it taste Jelak. 😋 I loved how it was Beautifully Plated and Presented that made it all the More Appetizing and Visually Pleasing. You can also treat this as a Sampler Plate before you decide if you want to buy their Individually Packed Vegetables to bring back to Singapore. 🥬🌽🥕

That said though, as Impressive as this place was, the Truth is I didn't see alot of Customers there even on a Saturday, so I don't know if their Whole Operation will be able to sustain for long. 🤔 I would recommend to come as soon as you can, and treat this as an Educational Excursion for your Kids. 👦👧 Of course they don't have to eat Salad like I did as this place does sell other items in their Menu that would appeal more to Kids.
You can actually fit this place into your JB TUTA Itinerary like the Sample I have listed below. Hahaha, at least this is probably how I'd plan if I have Kids myself. 😅 Based on Eateries I've visited and reviewed, a Very Simple Saturday JB TUTA 1 Day Trip Itinerary would probably go something like this:
1) Start the Day at 7.00am with a Nice Breakfast at either
安记酿豆腐 Restoran Ankee Yong Tauhu or 永新鮑魚粿條 Restoran Yong Xing
2) Bring the Kids to the Capybara Cafe to eat Lunch and let them enjoy playing with the Animals. 👦👧🦙
3) Go Relax in Tasek Central Mall and Watch a Nice Movie with the Family at TGV Cinema. 📽️
4) After the Movie, bring them to this Cosmo Seeds Restaurant for a Meal/Snack and shunbian take the opportunity to show them around and let them see how Hydroponic Farming looks like. 🥬🌽🥕
5) Relax somemore at Tasek Central Mall (I can't recall if there are any Children Playground) Or just walk around explore the surrounding area while waiting for the TUTA Pasar Malam to open at about 5.30pm to Explore and End the Day. 😋
The Only Issue with this Itinerary is that this Tasek Central Mall isn't the type of Super Popular or Bustling Modern Mall like KSL or City Square and is more on the Quieter Type. 🤔 Its not a Dead Mall though as there is still a Relatively Healthy Amount of Patrons, but I would classify it as more of a 2nd or 3rd Tier type of Smaller Mall. 🤔
Overall, I enjoyed myself here and this was a Unique Dining Experience. 👍 I am really happy at how affordable that Salad Bowl cost. Really no way to eat this Sub-S$3.00 in Singapore for sure. 😅 Do try to visit this as soon as you can because I'm also not sure how long or sustainable this place can last given that there aren't alot of Customers even on a Saturday when I went. 🤔
