Important Disclaimer:
I received a Free Food Item at this Eatery, but it did not in any way affect how I gave my Score for this place. 🤔 While I will also give my opinion of this Free Food Item, it is not taken into consideration with regards to my Overall Score.
This was a Big Restaurant that I just stumbled upon when exploring TUTA. 🚶 I was intrigued to see that they specialize in Abalone Noodles so I thought I'd give it a try. 🍜 Really Big Spacious Place, its Not Air-Conditioned but still felt Airy and Cooling and there were quite alot of Customers within at 9.16am although it wasn't Full House.

When I stepped in, an Older Gentleman Warmly Welcomed me into the Place and he was very Friendly and Polite. 👍 From the way he was dressed, I think he's the Owner of this Place as the Rest of the Staffs wore a Yellow T-Shirt Uniform. The Thing that Amused me was that they greet Customers with 欢迎光临 even though this felt more like a Kopitiam rather than a Restaurant. 😅 The Dish took 4 Mins to Serve Up.
They have 2 Condiments here available on Every Table, a Chilli Sauce and a Soy Sauce. The Chilli they have taste Very Similar to the Type you would normally get for Chicken Rice. 🌶️
Sourish and Spicy 酸酸辣辣 type. Not Very Spicy. The Difference is, this one is also Noticeably More Garlicky. The Light Soy Sauce was alright, nothing particularly special.
佳品鲍鱼粉 Exclusive Abalone Noodle (Kway Teow, Soup) = RM19.80
When this was served up, I was immediately impressed with how Big and Beautifully Presented the Bowl looked. 👍 It is a Very Big Bowl and has a Nice Savoury Seafoody Aroma wafting from it. 😋 To see if this is Worth the Money, I took the time to Extract and Count Every Piece of Ingredient inside as best as I can for ya'll to take a look. 😅

This Big Bowl comes with:
🦪 1 Baby Abalone
🦪 2 Scallops
🦪 1 Piece of Faux Abalone
🐷 5 Slices of Pork Liver
🐷 7 Pieces of Pork Slices
🦐 1 Mid Sized Shell-On Prawn
Veggies and Some Pieces of Fried Pork Lard
Amusingly, my Action of Extracting Every Piece of Ingredient to check like this caused an Interesting Incident which I will describe later on in my Review. 😅
Quality of the Soup Broth
Tasted Savoury and 清甜. 😋 I detected a Very Slight Bit of MSG used but its not too much. Overall a Very Decent Broth thats Not Overly Salty.
Kway Teow
The Amount given is Acceptable and Filling. 👍 I thought it felt Slightly Thicker compared to others I've eaten. Texture is Very Soft and has a Soft Chew. Although this is probably from a Package, its a Nice Tasting Kway Teow thats Delicious to Slurp when Soaked up with the Soup Broth. 😋
The Baby Abalone
The Baby Abalone here is of course the Main Star of the Show. 🦪 Understandably due to Cost, there is only one, and while it is an Abalone, this is not those High-End Big Sized 人月牌 type of Abalone. 🤔 I've cooked Abalone before and this is slightly bigger than the Budget Yoshihama Brand Canned Version. 🤔 I remember our Sheng Siong also got sell a Pack of this from time to time at an Affordable Price especially during CNY Period.

The Appearance is Acceptable. From the look, as it doesn't have that Distinct "毛毛" Texture on its Rim, this looked like its probably from a Can. Its still Presentable Looking. 👍 Has a Soft Chew with No Fishy Taste. If you have Realistic Expectations, this is an Acceptable Budget Quality of Abalone.
Scallops
The 2 Scallops they use here look good, also with a Soft Juicy Chew, Not Overly Fishy.
Faux Abalone
This is exactly the type that is used in some Bak Chor Mee that puts "Abalone". 😅 Same Taste Texture. Seeing that its a Faux Abalone, I'm surprised theres only 1 Piece here when they gave 2 Scallops which is more expensive.
🤔 I felt they could give a few more pieces of this. Just 1 piece here felt a little Stingy. Or they could just replace this with Fishcake Slices instead if Cost is an Issue.
Pork Liver
5 Slices are Acceptable and they have a Slightly Thinner Cut. Tastes Clean and Not Gamey with a Soft Bite. 😋
Pork Slices
These have definitely have gone thru the Velveting Process and are Very Soft, Tender and Smooth to the Bite. Not Overly Porky. 😋
Personally, I am impressed with how Generous they are with the amount they gave because I've yet to see any Eatery give 7 Pieces like this for a Kway Teow Soup. 👍
Prawn
Has a Soft Bite and Doesn't Taste Stinky. 🦐 It's Shell-On so I'm guessing their Digestive Tract are not Cleanly Processed. You might need to take note of this if this is something that bothers you. 🤔 Acceptable Quality.
Overall, this was a Very Decent Bowl of Kway Teow Tng. 👍 The Abalone is not the Only Gimmick in the Dish as all the Other Ingredients played their Role well and worked together in Harmony. Nothing tried to assert their Dominance in this Dish and Nothing Clashed. 😋
Other than that 1 piece of Faux Abalone which felt a Tad Stingy, I felt the Amount given for the Other Ingredients were Reasonable and I'm especially impressed by the Generous Amount of Velveted Pork Slices. 👍
An Interesting Incident that occured while I was eating
So remember when I was quietly Extracting Every Piece of Ingredient from the Bowl to Check and Count? One Auntie Staff actually personally went over to my Location and in a Very Noticeable Fearful Voice asked me if everything is ok, or if they missed out any ingredient in the Bowl. 🤔
Perhaps my Action of Quietly Extracting Every Piece of Ingredient like this rattled her very much, there was a Real Feeling of FEAR I heard in her Voice, 😅 like she was so worried I'm going to lash out at her. Of course I didn't. I reassured her that everything is fine, and I'm just checking out the Ingredients in the Soup. 😅
Interestingly, she came back awhile later while I was eating and out of the blue, she told me that their Boss would like to give me a Treat and let me try out their Fried Dumpling. 😳 "老板说这盘炸水饺请你吃". I was Completely Caught by Surprise at this Gesture and tried my best to Politely Decline, but they insisted. So ok of course I gratefully accepted. 👍
炸水饺 Fried Dumpling - 2 Pieces (I received this Item for Free)
So apparently this is listed as one of their Must-Try 小吃 Item on their Menu and they sell this at 5 Pieces for RM8.00. The Little Dollop of Chilli Sauce they have here is Sweetish with a Subtle Spicy Bite. 🌶️ I want to say this is probably from some Bottle but it tasted Slightly Better Quality. Maybe its a Better Quality Brand? 🤔

The Fried Dumpling is quite a Large Size as you can see in the Photo. Because I did not factor this into the Review Score, it was the Last Thing I ate AFTER the Main Kway Teow Soup. Even so, I was legit surprised that it still Managed to Retain much of its Crispness which was honestly quite impressive. 😋

The Minced Pork Meat Filling within is quite Substantial. Its Soft and Juicy with a Nice Salted Touch and No Veggie Taste. 😋 Quite a Nice Tasting Fried Dumpling. If they have Mayo to dip this with it would be quite nice.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At a Total Combined Price of RM21.00 (S$6.40) not counting the 2 炸水饺 Fried Dumplings, I felt this was Pricey for what is essentially a Kway Teow Soup meant for 1 Pax. 🤔 That said, the Amount of Ingredients within felt worth the Money because they do give some Premium Ingredients and I was legit impressed by the Generous Amounts of Pork Liver and Pork Slices which I have never seen so many pieces in other Regular Kway Teow Soups I've eaten. 👍
Before I came here, I had thought that they may be just using "Abalone" as just a Gimmick 打招牌 just to entice Customers and the Rest of the Ingredients in Actual Dish is actually Meh. 😅 This was Absolutely Not the Case because all the Rest of the Ingredients actually did pull their own weight and worked in harmony to help elevate this Dish together. 👍 Although not a Super High Class Atas Restoran Quality, this was still a Very Decent Tasting Dish.I am especially impressed with the Level of Fear and Concern displayed by this Eatery. 🤔 They were observant enough to notice what I was doing and this tells me they are concerned about the Customers Well-Being and take pride in their Dishes. This is a Quality that I respect very much. 👍 Overall a Very Decent Warm, Comforting and Filling Bowl of Kway Teow Soup. I have no issues with this place and I can definitely recommend to give it a try if you are here in TUTA. 👍
