Locating this Place was quite an Adventure. 😅 When I arrived at this place following the Directions on Google Maps, 🌏 I know I'm at the right place, yet somehow I could not find it at all. I wondered if this had already Closed Down Permanently. 🤔

While I was searching around, 🤔 I approached an Elderly Hong Kong Gentleman to ask if he knows of the place and just nice, he actually knows the Current Owner of this place and brought me to the Correct Location. 😄 He very nicely brought me up to the 2nd Floor where I met with this Current Owner who explained all the Details to me:

Brief History of the Place

So apparently this Shop used to have an Eatery at the 1st Floor that sells Snake Stew, 🐍🍛 Snake Soup 🐍🍲 and other Snake Related Dishes, but the Son of the Original Owner sold off the Business and suddenly left the Country or something. 🤔

And as this Current Owner is a Relative of the Original Owner, he decided to take over and because the Eatery is sold off, they do not have the License anymore to sell any Snake Related Products. 🐍🤔 Currently, while waiting for License to be granted, they've moved to the 2nd Floor where they will serve only the Old Regular Customers. 🤔

The Both of them gave me a Nice Tour of the Place and it had such a Very Old School 1960s sort of Vibe. 😄 Abit reminiscent to the Air Nira Toddy Shop that I visted back in Malaysia Johor Bahru. Patrons are mostly Elderly Men just chilling around the place. 👴

🐍🍷 過山烏蛇酒 Black Mountain Snake Wine - Not For Sale

As we talked, I was shown their Snake Wine and while it was not for sale, he very kindly offered a Free Cup for me to Try. 🐍🍷 He said he felt paiseh I come so far from Singapore to their Shop and they couldn't offer me anything else since the Eatery is Closed. Such Hospitality! ❤️

I accepted the kind offer and I would describe Snake Wine as tasting like a Very Herbly Version of Japanese Sake. 🇯🇵🍶 You can FEEL the Alcohol burn your Throat as it goes down. 🔥🤔 There is an Aftertaste of Chinese Herbs. 🌿 And apparently it is supposed to be Good for Health.




Quite a Story huh?

So although this Eatery is No Longer Open for Business as its waiting for its License, 🤔 this was still quite an Adventure for me. 😅 I really appreciated the Kindness of the Nice Elderly Gentleman who took the time and effort to bring me to the correct place and also Many Thanks to the Current Owner's Hospitality in offering me a Free Cup for my Visit. 🐍🍷😄
