So after the interesting but disappointing visit to
蛇王林 Seh Wong Lam which is basically closed for Business, this was actually my 2nd Backup Plan to eat Snake Dishes. 🐍😋 I prayed hard that this place is actually open, 🙏 and thankfully it was. 😅

Even though it was selling Exotic Meat such as Snake, this actually is a Very Reputable Looking Eatery which had quite alot of Customers within. 👍 They don't only sell Snakes, 🐍 but also Roasted Meats 🍖 and other Meals too.

The Interior isn't very Big but have a Nice Cozy Feel to it. ❤️ The Staffs are Very Friendly and Welcoming and especially so when I started to talk to them in Cantonese. 🇭🇰😄 I appreciated their effort in explaining what are the different types of Snake Dishes they offer. 👍

🐍🍲 招牌花膠燴蛇羹 Signature Fish Maw Braised Snake Stew = HKD83.00

蛇羹 or Snake Stew is something I've had in the past last time in Malaysia 🇲🇾 and in Taiwan. 🇹🇼 This is probably the Best Dish to introduce to someone to let them have a Taste of Snake Meat without it looking Too Horrific. 🐍😅 (Like that Philippines Balut that I reviewed previously at
Ghana Organic Food Market)
Its basically a Very Thick Soup Stew 🍲 that has the Consistency of Sharks Fin Soup. 🦈🍲 The Main Difference here is that the Amount of Snake Meat and Pieces here are really Very Generous! 🐍😋 Doesn't taste Salty at all and the Meat is Very Soft and Tender. Think Shark's Fin Soup or 酸辣汤 but not 酸辣. 🍲😋

This actually tasted very nice. And really, if you don't tell someone that this is Snake Stew, 🐍 he/she will probably think this is just some Atas Restaurant Soup or something. 🍲😅 Nothing inside this Bowl even resembles a Snake because its all been cut into very small pieces to discern. 🔪🐍  I like the one they have here. Its Very Warm and Comforting. 🍲😋

🐮🐍 土茯苓牛大力燉蛇肉 Beef and Snake Meat Soup = HKD160.00

Now THIS was VERY IMPRESSIVE. 👍 If you can fool someone with Snake Stew, 🐍🍲 there is no way you're gonna fool anyone with THIS DISH. 😅 As you can already see in the Photo, the Amount of Snake Pieces they give is really ALOT and its REALLY alot of Snake Meat! 🐍😳 I think this is at least Half a Snake worth of Meat? 🐍🤔

I ate something similar before when I was in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and it wasn't a Favourable 1st Impression. 🤔 Snake Meat is a VERY TOUGH MEAT to Chew. 🐍🍖 No Joke, its a really Tough and Stringy Meat. 😅 People who have eaten Snake Meat before will know what I'm taking about. 😅 The one I had here though, although also is tough, but I honestly feel is MUCH MORE TENDER then then one I had in Taiwan. 😋 It doesn't taste Dry and Leathery but actually has a More Tender Meaty Chew to it. 🍖😋

One thing you will definitely notice when you eat Snake Meat is that it has ALOT OF BONES. 🐍🦴 Snake is an Extremely Bony Creature as you can see in my photo just how much Bones I have to place on the plate. 🦴😅 So if this is your first time eating Snake, do take note of this. 🐍

The Broth in this one has a Strong and Delicious Herbal Taste 🍲🌿 powered with some Herbs that I've seen before but unfortunately do not know the name of. They're all in Very Big Pieces and I have them in one of the Photos I posted.

If you know the name of these Herbs, feel free to share them with us in the Comments. 🌿😄 Completely Not Bitter at all. If you are someone who enjoy Savour Herbal Soups, you will most likely enjoy this too. 🍲😋

I also like that in addition to the Generous Amount of Snake Meat, 🐍🍖 there are also Several Big Thick Cut Pieces of Beef at the Bottom of the Bowl which although were Meaty were abit Dry to the Bite. 🐮🤔 This Whole Dish is very Tasty and Not Salty at all and I easily drank it dry. Excellent Snake Soup! 🐍🍲😋

Are the Dishes worth the Price I paid?

HKD83.00 (S$14.50
) for the 蛇羹 (Snake Stew) 🐍🍲 I feel is worth the Money definitely because of how big the Bowl was. This is basically like eating Shark's Fin Soup. 🦈🍲

If you enjoy such Herbal Restaurant type of Atas Stew, this is worth the money in my opinion. 💵👍

HKD160.00 (S$28.00) for the Beef and Snake Soup 🐮🐍 may feel a tad expensive, but again, I feel the price is worth to pay to be able to eat something that we can NEVER EVER hope to ever eat in Singapore. 🇸🇬😅

The Actual Dish itself as you can see in my Photos is actually quite generous with their Meat 🍖 and Herb Portions. 🌿 I especially loved the Quality of the Snake Meat because its actually more tender then the past Snake Soups I've eaten before. 🐍🍲 So to me, this is a Quality that I feel is worth paying for.

Why I'm giving this place my Highest Score

The True Beauty of this place though was the Experience I had interacting with the Staffs and Fellow Customers. 😄 So obviously, they know i'm not a Local and when I first started eating this, it was very Adorable when I could see ALL of them gazing at me as I took my 1st sip of the Snake Dishes. 🐍😅

When I conversed with them in Cantonese that I actually enjoyed it, all of them really opened up and actively engaged in Chit-Chatting with me. 😄 In particular there was a Fellow Customer who was dressed like your Stereotypical Tai-Tai type who very enthusiastically engaged with me in Conversation first. 😅 We literally chatted about everything under the Sun, everything from Food, 🍛 to the Weather 🌧️ to even Politics and the Recent News. 📰 Heck it was such a Fun Convo that even the Rest of the Staffs joined in the Fun! 😄

At that very moment, all National Barriers were Broken and here we are a Bunch of Strangers from Across a Vast Ocean 🌊 just engaging in Chit Chat like we were Old Friends! ❤️ Everyone at that moment was either a "Dai Gor" (大哥) or "Dai Jeh" 大姐. This was one of the more Amazing Experience I've felt in Hong Kong! 🇭🇰❤️

Hong Kongers are Stereotypically being cast as being abit Aloof and Unfriendly, (abit like Singaporeans) 🇸🇬😅 but when you start conversing in Cantonese and are sincere in making friends with them, they will really open up to you very warmly. ❤️ Absolutely Amazing Experience that transcends beyond just Simple Dining. ❤️ I think I actually spent over an hour plus here just chit chatting with them. 😄 This to me is the Quintessential Hong Kong Experience that I will never forget! 🇭🇰❤️
