This was actually the 1st Roasted Meats Eatery I visited when I was in Hong Kong and it was quite an intimidating experience. 🇭🇰😅 It was pretty crowded with an Eclectic Mix of China, 🇨🇳 Pinoys 🇵🇭 and Local Customers. 🇭🇰 I noticed that Tsim Sha Tsui in particular is quite a Melting Pot, with Noticeably alot of Foreigners in the Area. 🤔

This was also the 1st Place where I started conversing in Cantonese. Thank Goodness the Young Chap who attended to me totally understood me. 😅 He totally had that "Yo Bro I go you" sort of way too. 😄 His Boss though, a Middle Aged Man was a Different Issue. 🤔

So apparently I told him if I could have a Custom Order of Roast Goose, 🪿 Sio Bak 🐷 and Char Siew 🐷 Platter without any Rice and he noted his order. When he went over to his Boss though, I could hear abit of squabble between them with the Boss lecturing him that they don't do such Custom Dishes, and Customer must order from the Menu only. 📜🤔

The Poor Chap then came back to me to explain the situation and I chose their Four Treasure Rice (Without Rice) instead. I'm quite amused that he gave me this Wierd Look like "How come this guy don't eat rice one?" 🍚😅 Nevertheless he still took my Order. I noticed they sold Roasted Pigeons here, 🐦 a Unique Delicacy of Hong Kong 🇭🇰 and I appreciated his willingness to take the time to describe and explain to me how big it actually is. (I was scared that it may be too big and I couldn't finish the food.) 😅

This Young Chap probably will never see this Post, but I'd like to thank him here for being Friendly and I'm abit paiseh he have to kena Scolding from his Boss for my Initial Custom Request. 😅 I really appreciate his willingness to help me. His Boss though had a stereotypical "Hong Kong Towkay" sort of feel. 😅 He wasn't rude to me, but I could tell he is someone who loses temper easily. 🤔

🍖 招牌四宝饭 Four Treasure Rice (No Rice) = HKD88.00

The Sauce Condiments that came with this was a Yellow Sauce which is some sort of Wasabi Mustard Mix. 🍯 It has a Very Sourish and Gritty Taste to it. 🤔 This is the 1st time I've tasted this and I feel this is nice to add to Roasted Meats for them to not taste too Jelak. 🍖👍 The Other Sauce is a Plum Sauce thats not too sweet. 🍯👍

It took about 3 Mins for this Meat Platter to be served up. Even though without Rice, I was impressed by the effort in Presentation here. 👍 There are actually quite alot of Meats here and is actually quite good if you want to treat this as a Sampler. 🍖😋

In addition to Roast Goose, Sio Bak and Char Siew, Salted Duck Egg is the "4th Treasure" in this Four Treasure Rice. 🦆🥚 I thought this was a Strange Item to add considering Roasted Meats itself tends to be quite Salty already. 🧂🤔 Why add more Salt by adding a Salted Egg?

I've actually roasted Goose before so this is not the first time I'm tasting it and I feel the Roast Goose here is not bad. 🪿😋 Not Mind Blowingly Amazing, but Not Bad. Skin here is not Crispy but I do like the Nice Salted Meaty Taste. 🍖😋 I'd rate this as Above Average.

The Taste Profile is ALMOST like a Duck, but is not a Duck. 🪿🦆🤔 Goose has a Much Cleaner Tasting sort of Meat compared to Duck and completely Not Gamey at all. 🪿😋 It is however a Very Oily Bird but then again Goose Oil also tastes Very Clean and Not Jelak. 😋 Personally, I feel Goose is a Very Nice Tasting Poultry so I have no idea why its so rare in Singapore and even in Malaysia JB. 🤔

🐷 Sio Bak Skin is Not Crispy, and while the Meat tasted a tad cold, it was Delightfully Juicy. 😋 It is also noticeably salty. Not the best Sio Bak I've eaten, but i would also rate this as Above Average.

🍖 Char Siew is Nice, Soft, Juicy and Fatty and taste Very Sweet. Definitely not JB You Kee's Meat Candy  Melt in Mouth Quality but overall not bad tasting. 👍 Again, I'd rate this also as Above Average.

红烧乳鴿 Roasted Pigeon = HKD68.00

Roasted Pigeon took the Longest to serve up, almost 15mins in fact. 🤔 Served with a Salt Pepper Condiment. Pigeon is a Very Small Bird. 🐦🤔 I would say its slightly bigger than a Quail but probably 2/3 the size of a Spring Chicken? 🤔 It has a Very Nice Oily Roasted Aroma. Even though its a Very Small Bird, its actually quite Meaty and Delightfully Juicy and interestingly I thought the Meat tasted almost no different from Duck Meat. 🐦🦆 It felt like I was eating a Very Mini Duck when I ate Pigeon. 😅

Personally I feel Pigeon works very well as a 下酒菜. 🍷 Imagine eating a Good Roasted Crispy Chicken Wing with some Cold Beer but instead of just a Wing, its a Whole Bird. 🐦 Almost Every Part can been Eaten Whole. The Version here is Roasted so Crispy that even the Whole Head including the Beak can be munched like a Crispy Cracker. 🐦😋

Being that this was the 1st Time I'm eating Roasted Pigeon, I of course originally thought of the Regular Pigeons that we see so commonly on the Roads. 🐦😅 But that feeling passed quickly when I ate it. I really like it alot. Pigeon is a Very Enjoyable Bird to Eat. 🐦😋

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts:

Overall, nothing particularly Amazing about this Eatery and I feel everything tasted Above Average. 👍 Pigeon was the one that I particularly enjoyed and I was glad that this place gave me my 1st taste which wasn't too bad. 🐦😋 Paying HK68.00 (S$11.10) was Okay I guess, and felt like I was paying the Price of a SG Western Food styled of Fried Spring Chicken.

While I appreciated how Friendly and Accomodating the Young Chap who served me was, 👍 I was kindda wary about his Boss who really just gave me the impression he is probably going to blow up and explode if I had made more custom request like the "No Rice" I requested. 😅

Not bad place for my 1st taste of Hong Kong Roasted Meats 🇭🇰🍖 and while I cannot give a higher score for it, I can still recommend for anyone to come give it a try especially their Roasted Pigeons. 🐦😋 Just try your best to tread lightly and not antagonize the Boss too much. 😅
