This is apparently a Classic Dish in Macau and this Eatery I'm at is a Small Corner Shop. 🤔
There are quite alot of people within and the Staffs are Friendly and Patient in explaining. 😄
Served up in about 4 mins, it comes with about 4 Pieces of Chicken Thigh and Breasts 🐔 and the Broth has a Very Strong Curry Powder Smell. 🍲 Even for a Small Bowl I thought it looked quite impressive and gave me a Japanese Curry sort of look with the Thick and Gooey Curry Sauce. 🍛
The Curry Broth has a Thick Consistency and has an Initial Intense Saltiness that doesn't linger long. 🍲🧂 What I especially notice is that the Saltiness is actually powered by bits of Chai Poh (Preserved Radishes). 🥬🤔
The Dried Chilli Condiment on the side has a Strong Spicy Peanuty Bite 🌶️🥜 that lingers long on your Tongue. 🌶️😛 I think this is Lao Gan Ma? 🤔
Meehoon portion is acceptable for the price but it's probably from a Package. 🍜🤔 Chicken Pieces are Tender and Moist and Surprisingly have a Sweetish Taste. 🐔🤔 Eating Everything together is abit Underwhelming though. 🤔
It doesn't have the Curriness of a South East Asian Curry, 🍲🤔 and also doesn't have the Distinct Taste of Japanese-Styled Curry. 🍛🤔 Personally, I thought it tasted Very Bland for me, like Curry is an Afterthought. Too 清淡 for me tbh. 🍲🤔 Adding a little bit of that Spicy Lao Gan Ma Chilli Condiment 🌶️ actually improves the taste giving it a Nice Peanuty Dried Chilli Dimension. 🥜 But by itself this Dish is Too Bland for my taste. 🤔
I personally can't give it a Higher Score but that said I also won't mark it down. 🤔 If this is the first time you are trying this, I can still recommend this place because the Folks running this place is Friendly and Welcoming. 👍 Just know that this doesn't taste like the Curry that you're probably used to. 🍲🤔 Its neither Asian Curry nor Japanese Curry, but a Whole Unique Taste of its own. 🤔
