This is a Small Dim Sum place that is Air-conditioned with a Modern look and Atas feel. The Background Music they have playing here is some sort of Modern Industrial Synth Funkpop? 🎵🎶 It sure sounds like that to me.

This place is totally not how I expect a HK Dimsum place to feel. 🇭🇰😅 Also, for some reason, this place also has a very Strong Aroma of Hainanese Chicken Rice 🐔😅 even tho they don't sell it here. Wierd.

They have a Few Interesting House Rules here.

1) You must minimum order at least HKD35.00 (S$5.70) worth of items. 🤔

2) Chinese Tea is a must to order at HKD8.00 🫖 If you dont order, they will give u a Flask of Hot Water for HKD5.00 instead. 💧 This is Mandatory and the reason I gather is because Hong Kong Eateries don't charge any Service Charge so they use this Mandatory Tea as a way of charging this. 🫖🤔

When i asked for No Tea, the Young Serving Lady while polite, gave a Slight Adorable Protest and said their Chinese Tea is really good. 🫖😅 Its not that I don't want to order, its just an additional HKD8.00 (S$1.30) anyway. I just wanted to test what her reaction was. 🤔 She gave me the impression that she has never in her life seen anyone who don't order their Chinese Tea Hahaha. 🫖😅

The Staffs here will clear your plates when you're done eating, 🍽️ but thats ok for me because they're Polite about it and also this is not a big place and seats are limited so i do understand. 🪑🤔
Choi Sum and CSB were the first to be served after 5 mins, and Siew Mai and Har Gao were up in the next 2 mins. It took a total of 7mins for everything to be served up. Not bad timing considering it was abit crowded at the time. 👍

蟹籽燒賣 Prawn and Pork Dumplings (Siew Mai) = HKD18.00

The Siew Mai looked nice but I noticed there were specks of Black Soot on it. 🤔 I picked it, crushed it in my fingers did a quick taste and I can confirm it is Soot. ◼️🤔 I reckon this is probably bits of soot that dropped from their exhaust. 🤔

I have worked in the Maintenance Industry before and one of the things we do regularly was Preventive Maintenance where we go to Various Hotels and clean out the Exhaust Funnels from their Rooftops. 🧹 Hahaha You will not believe the Amount of Soot and Grime that we have to clean for these Commercial Kitchen Exhausts in some of these Atas Hotels and Restaurants! 😅

I believe this is an Unfortunate Piece that somehow landed on my Siew Mai. I'm afraid I'll have to deduct points for this. I did not make a scene or request to change my plate of Siew Mai. 🍽️ As with all Eateries that I visit, I'm just here to silently observe and record my findings even if there are any issues encountered. 🤔

Rubbish Eat Rubbish Grow, I just simply removed the Soot and flicked it off. 👍 After removing the Soot, I thought the Siew Mai was Meaty and Juicy. 😋 Not Overly Porky or Prawny. If it's not because of the Soot I discovered, I'd rate this as Above Average Quality. 👍 Right now, unfortunately I have to rate this Siew Mai as "Hazardous for Health". ☠️🙅‍♂️

蘆筍蝦餃 Asparagus Prawn Dumplings (Har Gow) = HKD18.00

Thankfully No Soot on this one! ◼️😅 The Har Gao was Excellent. Really Melt in Mouth Quality Translucent Skin and the Filling within is not One Big Fat Piece as are in Most Har Gaos I've eaten in JB, but in Pieces. 🤔

This gave it a Nicer Bitefeel and I also noticed some pieces of Chestnut 🌰 within giving it a Slight Crunch. So Beautifully and Elegantly Made, this is probably the Best Har Gao I've eaten so far. 😋

蠔皇叉燒包 Barbecue Pork Buns (Char Siew Bao) = HK17.00

The CSB dough is really Soft, Fluffy and Pillowy, 😋 and while there aren't alot of Filling within, I thought it tasted Very Nice. Hot, Sticky and Juicy Meat Pieces and Not Too Sweet. 🍖😋 This is a Good Delicious Dim Sum Quality CSB.

白灼菜心 Poached Choi Sum = HK16.00

I only ordered this because almost every table in this place ordered it so I gave it a try. 🥬🤔 It has a Unique Veggie Bitterness to it. Stem was very Soft and Tender and Not Mushy. 👍

Adding some Oyster Sauce on it gave it a Nice Taste. I understand why people order this as it is nice as a Palette Cleanser and Flavour Fatigue Relief if you have eaten too much Meat-Based Dim Sum. 🍖🤔

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

This was the First Dim Sum Place I ate here in Hong Kong and I actually liked it. The Staffs were Chirpy and Friendly and the Dim Sums were overall made at a High Quality. 👍

Total Price of HKD74.00 (S$13.00) for Everything I ordered was Very Reasonable and there was even a Special Promo, making the Total Actual Cost only HKD66.00 (S$11.50) Even without the Promo, I feel HKD74.00 (S$13.00) is still a Very Reasonable Price. This may be the Most Affordable Dim Sum Place I've eaten in HK.
Unfortunately though because of the Presence of Soot found on my Siew Mai, i'm afraid I cannot give this place a Higher Score. ◼️🤔 Luckily their Customer Service was not bad, else I would have dropped my Score even lower.

They really should look into cleaning up their Exhaust System more thoroughly or at least make sure to have a 2nd look and ensure any impurities discovered on the Dishes are removed before serving to Customers.
🤔

Other than this Unfortunate Soot issue, I quite like this place. If you decide to eat here, I hope you have better luck than me and not have any Soot land on your dishes. ◼️😅
