This was a Very Random Shop that I just happened to come across while exploring Tsim Sha Tsui. 🇭🇰 Its a Very Small Corner Shop that had quite a few Customers within. Totally looked like a Typical Classic Old-School Eatery that we see so often in a typical Hong Kong Movie. 🇭🇰📽️
I was quite surprised that this place is actually Air-Conditioned given how Old-School it looked. ❄️ The Owner was a Young 30-Something-ish Chap who had a very "Friendly Bro Feel" when I conversed with him in Cantonese. 😄
The Wanton Noodles was served up quickly in 2 Mins and I was immediately impressed with how Fat and Juicy the Wantons Looked! 🥟😳 Compared to the Pathetic Looking Mini Baby Wantons that we have in Singapore 🇸🇬 (and JB), 🇲🇾 the ones here in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 are some Serious Chonky Big Boys! 🥟😳 They are so Big Sized, I'd compare them to the size of Big Fishballs actually. Just look at the Photos to see what I mean! 😅
The Wanton Skin was as Smooth as Silk and I have a feeling this is Homemade. 🥟😋 Each of them had at least 1 Big Fat Prawn that was Amazingly Bouncy and Juicy! 🦐😋 OMG this is like probably the BEST Wanton i've ever eaten. 🥟❤️ Period.
The Soup itself has a very 清甜 Taste with a Slightly Alkaline Wanton Flour Taste which I thought may be abit too Alkaline than usual, 🍲🤔 but I was still ok with the taste. The Noodles were VERY VERY QQ and Bouncy to the Bite and Portion given is Acceptable. 🍜😋 It was Super Enjoyable to Slurp up these WTM Noodles and Munch on one of those Big Fat Chonky Wantons! 🍜🥟😋
I don't even know whether to call these 雲吞 Wantons? or 水饺 Dumplings? 🥟🤔 Is this what Authentic Wantons are supposed to look like? Living in Singapore, 🇸🇬 and eating Singapore 🇸🇬 and Malaysia's 🇲🇾 Version of Baby Wantons, I feel that my Life has been a Complete Lie! 🥟😭 This is a Very Decently Done Wanton Mee. 🍜😋 Its the Big Fat Wantons that really steal the show here. 🥟❤️ And this place wasn't even Famous or anything. Its just a Regular Eatery here in Hong Kong that I just randomly decided to visit. 🇭🇰😅
To be fair though, HKD45.00 (S$7.80) is very Expensive for a Bowl of WTM, 💵🤔 but personally I feel the Quality of the Wantons are actually Worth to Try. 🥟😋 And with that Owner and his "Friendly Bro Feel" he gave me, 😄 I can totally recommend this place for anyone to try Authentic Hong Kong Wanton Mee 🇭🇰🍜 in a Very Classic HK Movie Eatery sort of look. 😋
