🐶🍜 Doggie Noodles 狗仔粉 was a Popular Street Food back in the 1950s and 1960s and this was a Michelin Featured Eatery that has several Branches. I have no idea why its called "Doggie Noodles" and some sources online say its because the Noodles look like Little Wagging Dog Tails? 🐶😅
This Place i'm at has a Very Hole in the Wall feel, its a very small place with not many tables and seats for dine in. The Staffs at this place got a Hot 🔥 and Cold ❄️ type of Feel. They would Greet your Warmly, but also won't hesitate to shout at you if you were to go to the Incorrect Section of the Shop to pay for example. 🤔
One Example of this I observed was a Pair of Couple 👩❤️👨 who wanted a table to sit alone by themselves, so they chose a Table with 4 Seats. Immediately they were shouted by the Staff 🤬 that such seats are meant for 4 people and they should go share tables instead and not take up a table thats meant for 4 people. 🤬 This is even when there weren't much Customers too.
Quite Fierce Staffs they have. You can even see in this Photo how fierce she was. You're also not supposed to take Photos here as I was sternly warned. After how Fierce I see their Staffs behave, I can also understand why Photos are Not Allowed. But I still quickly snapped a few more Pictures to let ya'll have a look. I'll probably be Eaten Alive by the 2 Aunties if they had caught me! LOL! 🤬😅

As you visit the Eateries in Hong Kong, this is how some of them would behave. 🤔 You are expected to share tables with Strangers and I can totally see how this can come across as being Rude. 🤔 This is one aspect of Hong Kong Eateries that fascinate me, they are not shy to shout at you or tell you off if you did something wrong. 🤬😅
🐶🍜 馳名狗仔粉 Signature Doggie Noodles = HKD36.00
The Menu is only available online and is accessed and ordered via a QR Code. It's served up fast in about 2 mins and my First Impression is that the Bowl looks abit Small. 🤔 Serving using a Styrofoam Container which somewhat cheapens the look of the Dish. 😅
Presentation is nothing to look at, but then again, this is a "Quickly eat and go" type of place. 🤔 When I dig into the meal itself though, I realized that the container is actually quite deep and the contents within are actually quite alot. 🤔
This is basically Thick Udon noodles that is boiled very soft but not mushy. 🍜 They're most likely from a Package though. Some articles online say these are not Udon noodles, but for me, this tasted no different tbh. 🍜🤔

The Soup Broth is Complex. 🍲🤔 I think its a Pork Soup base that is powered with Cuttlefish 🦑 and Mushroom? 🍄 It has a very Rustic, Simple Street Food type of taste that is comparable to Macaroni Soup. 🍲
One thing is that this Broth is Very Thick and Viscous in Consistency. Not as thick like Glue like how some Google Reviewers describe it, but Definitely Thick. 🤔 Most likely Thickened using Cornflour I reckon.
A Prominent Ingredient it uses is 冬菜 Pieces 🥬 which are liberally all over the Dish. They even provide additional 冬菜 in a Side Container for you to add if you want. 🥬
This serves as a Texture Enhancer because the Overall Dish has a Very Soft Texture and this also gives it that Distinct 冬菜 Slightly Salty Slightly Crunchy Taste. 🥬😋 If you are someone who don't like 冬菜 though, you will not like this dish.
Other than what I think are Very Small Pieces of Minced Pork? 🐷🤔 there are no other Meats within. The Whole Bowl is just mostly Veggies, 🥬 Some Scalion, alot of 冬菜 and Mushrooms. 🍄 The Whole Dish is both simultaneously Culinarily Very Simple yet also Somewhat Complex. 😅 Its the Broth that is the Soul of the Dish. 🍲 It reminds me of a very Old School type of Soup Taste.

Because of how Simple this Dish is made, I reckon this was probably sold as a Cheap Carb for Common Folks in the Past as a Simple Meal. 🤔 I reckon this would taste Very Warm and Comforting during a Cold Weather. ❄️😌 At HKD36.00 (S$6.20) even as a Michelin Featured Dish though, I feel this is a Quite Expensive for what is Essentially a Mostly Meatless Vegetable Noodle Soup. 🤔
Culinarily, I like this Dish for what it is and I have since re-created it myself after my Hong Kong Trip. Hahaha what do you think of my version of 香港狗仔粉? At least its not served in a Cheap Styrofoam Bowl. 😅

As for this Place, the Attitude of the Staffs can be Rough. 🫤 Then again, if this is how Hong Kongers usually behave, who am I to judge? 🇭🇰😅 Unfortunately not a Place I would return again. I guess getting a Michelin Award doesn't include having Polite Customer Service as a Factor. 😅
That said, if you don't mind that you might get shouted at, I can still recommend to give this a try, because this is not a taste that we can find in Singapore. 🤔 This is a taste that I feel I have eaten in the past when I was young, but can no longer find nowadays. 🤔
If you encounter a Long Queue though, I feel there is also No Big Loss if you skip it. Definitely Not Something that is worth to Queue Hours for sure. Just don't do anything that will antagonize the Staffs though! 😅
