車仔麵 or Cart Noodles is apparently a Very Classic Hong Kong style of Noodles. 🇭🇰🍜 It was named as such because in the 1950s, Street Vendors operated on Roadsides selling this using a Pushcart. Today, such Street Vendors have mostly vanished but the name of this noodles endures as a Cultural Icon 🇭🇰 (Source: Wikipedia)

This is a Very No Frills Working Class type of Noodles 🍜 where you choose the Type of Noodles you want, Soup Broth 🍲 or any Combination of Toppings. This place I'm at is a Very Hole in the Wall sort of Shop that I randomly stumbled upon while exploring. Its a Very Small Place with barely enough seats for 5 people tbh. 🪑 Its also not a Super Popular Place as there were hardly any people when I went in.

The Owners were a Pair of Middle Aged Couple and they were initially very Quiet. Once I started complimenting their Noodles however, they really opened up and were very Friendly 😄 and I enjoyed my time here chit-chatting while eating. 🍜 According to them, they recommended 幼麵 (Thin Noodles) which is supposed to be the Classic Sort of Noodles used in 車仔麵. 🍜 They also recommended their 牛腩 (Beef Brisket) 🐮 which they said was Popular. I personally chose 豬紅 (Pig's Blood) 🐷🩸 myself as I haven't had the chance of having it in Hong Kong so far.

I was pleasantly impressed when the Bowl was served up. 👍 As you can see in the Photo, it looked so Delicious and the Ingredients looked Very Generous! 🍜😋 The Soup Broth was 清甜, Not Overly Salty with a Slight Savoury Beefy Taste. Almost like a Slightly Milder Version of Beef Noodles. 🐮🍜

There are 4 Pieces of Pig's Blood 🐷🩸 and they are all Cut in Thick Cuts. Much Thicker Cuts than anything I've eaten in JB so far tbh.
🤔 They also have a Slightly Firmish Bitefeel while still completely Soft and Tender and are Soaked Flavourfully with that Beautiful Soup Broth. 🍲😋  I think THIS may be the Best Tasting Pig's Blood I've ever eaten so far even in JB.

牛腩 (Beef Brisket) portions were very generous as there were so many of them! 🐮 They are also Thick Cut, Not Overly Beefy, Braised Beautifully and are SUPER SOFT and MELT IN MOUTH QUALITY! 🐮😋 Fuyoh! Eating both 牛腩 and 豬紅 together is a Combo that I never knew worked so well, they're really a Match in Heaven! ❤️

The Noodles are not QQ. 🍜 They are Soft but not Mushy and are Soft in all the Right Ways that easily slid down my Throat. 😋 That said, I think they are most likely from a Package even though the Lady Boss say they make it themselves. 💁🍜

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts:

This Eatery is really a Very Normal Typical Run-of-the-Mill Place that most people will just pass by without even bothering to give it a 2nd Look. 😅
HKD35.00 (S$6.10) for this is also not Cheap by any means if compared to a Similar Priced Noodles Dish in Singapore 🇸🇬🤔 but something about this Bowl of Noodles really clicked with me. 🍜👍 The Soup Broth was really the Soul of the Dish that elevated this Dish to a Next Level. 🍲👍

It was really my Interactions with the Friendly Owners chit-chatting about life and everything that I really enjoyed. 😄 If you are in Hong Kong, don't just mindlessly queue up for the Popular Michelin Star Eateries. 😅 Take some time to explore around and who knows you may come across a Hidden Gem just like this! 💎
