Hey Everyone,
Hahaha probably one of the Rare Times you see me posting Early for a JB Trip Preview and yes as you can see, I'm back in Taman Setia Indah again! ๐
Although to be fair, this Part of the Suburb is known more as Austin Crest? ๐ค But I still group this together under Taman Setia Indah lah. ๐
No need to describe this Neighbourhood / Suburb further I guess. ๐
Feel free to read up on my Earlier Write-Ups here JB Trip Preview - Taman Setia Indah and my 2nd Visit JB Trip Preview - Taman Setia Indah (Extended Preview!)
And Yes, you're seeing a Roast Goose ็ง้น
here. ๐
I'm glad to announce that I've found yet another Brand New Place to eat GOOSE in Johor Bahru! ๐ Hahaha, Why settle for Mere Roast Duck when you can eat Roast Goose? ๐

Here are the Highlights of the Trip:
ๅฏๅคฉๆธฏ็ฅๅณ่ถๆฅผ Kai Tian is really the Main Reason why I came to Taman Setia Indah again when I came across this place on Google Maps that sold Roast Goose. ๐ Quite a Lucky Find actually. ๐
If you are interested, here are 2 other Restaurants I have reviewed previously in Malaysia Johor Bahru that sells Goose:
Tanjung Puteri (R&F Mall): CMJ Kitchen ๆฝฎๆปก่ฎฐ่ๆฝฎๆฑ้ฅญๅบ

As for this place, if you are interested in the price, here is the Menu for Roasted Goose. ๐ I chose Lower Half for RM120.00, and the Final Bill (with Service Charges came up to RM132.00 (S$43.00) as you can see on this Receipt. When comparing Final Bill with another Roasted Goose Lower Half I ate previously in ๆฐ้่ฎฐ·ไธญ่ฏ้ขจๅณ Xin Long Ji Chinese Restaurant in Mount Austin, the price there was RM100.30 (S$33.00)
So this Place is More Expensive in Comparison. ๐ค But that said, THIS Roast Goose Skin is more like HK-Styled ่็ฎ่็ฎ Crispy Skin type ๐ฅ while Xin Long Ji's version is more towards ๆฐดๆฐด Zhup Zhup type. ๐ฆ This is the 1st Roast Goose I've eaten in JB that is the ่็ฎ่็ฎ type.
Hahaha in fact, the China ่ๆฟๅจ is so proud of their Roasted Goose, she even took it out to let me see it Pre-Roast. ๐ I've roasted Duck and Goose before myself, and from the Texture of the Air-Dried Skin, I can see that they definitely know what they are doing. ๐ These are Air-Dried very nicely. 12 Hours according to the Lady Boss. ๐ Of course they can do it better with more Professional Kitchen Equipments lah compared to my Meagre Home Setup. ๐
The Pride she is showing here with their Goose Pre-Roast to their Customer shows me how much Confidence they have in their Roasts. ❤️ Hahaha but also abit ๆชๆช lah. ๐ Pre-Roast show it to me, Roast Finish liao also show to me. ๐ I don't think Most Restorans will bother to do this. Certainly not in Singapore. Hahaha! ๐

If you would like to visit this place, you need to take note of a few things:1) Obviously Roast Goose is Limited Quantity.
I think Per Day only got Total 8 Gooses available. ๐ค
2) It is of course best to Call / Whatsapp in advance using the Contact on the Name Card as you can see.
3) If you are visiting this Place on a Weekday, Minimum Order is Half a Roast Goose RM198.00 (S$64.00) Only on Weekends are the Other Types (Upper Half, Lower Half) available. They don't sell Roast Goose Plate by Plate btw.
4) If you are Dining-In, there is Minimum 50 Minutes Wait after you make your Order where they will Roast it On-Demand. ๐ฅ In addition, there is of course a RM50.00 Deposit Fee to pay first.
5) Credit Card Payment is available, however there was some System Error when I visited. ๐ค So be prepare to use QR Code Scan Payment (which didn't work for me) or Prepare Cash.
6) This one is just my Personal Observation. This Restoran itself is Old Looking and throughout my visit, I never saw any other customer. ๐ค ๅทๆธ ๆธ even on a Saturday. ๐ค To be fair, I did visit this at 10.30am where Most Normal Human Beings won't be eating Roast Goose ๐ but you might want to take note of this if a Popular or Crowded Restoran is a Requirement for you.

My Personal Opinion of this Place and Quality
Yes, without a Doubt this is Not Cheap. ๐ค Lower Half of this at RM132.00 (S$43.00) is even more expensive when compared to Half a Roast Duck in Singapore. But this is a Roast Goose, not a Duck. Unless you know how to Roast one, you cannot even eat this in Singapore even if you got money to pay for it. ็็ๆฏๆ้ฑ้ฝๅไธๅฐ. ๐
Also, a Goose is absolutely not a Duck. It is truly a Delicious Clean Unique Poultry that only People who have eaten before will appreciate it. ๐ As for the Quality, I'll be honest this is not as Amazing as the Roast Goose from Hong Kong obviously because they can only use Frozen Goose i'd imagine. ๐ค But I feel the Difference is not that Bad also.
Why I especially like this Place is that 50 Mins Wait where they Roast on Demand for you. This of course means the Roast Goose is FRESH PIPING HOT off the Roast. ๐ฅ Yummz! ๐

The Magic Moment is when I hold this Roast Goose Drummy and bite through it. ๐คฏ Hahaha with all that Decadent Beautiful Clean Goose Oil spill all over my Mouth, OMG so SINFULLY GOOD! ๐คค Long Time Readers of this Food Blog will know how I eat Roast Goose: Barbarian-Style ้ไบบ็ๆขฆ! ๐ Hahaha!
Just look at all that Beautiful Goose Fat Clumping on this Big Fat Chonker! *Faints* ๐คฏ
Spoiler: This Place doesn't get my Top Score, but its still a Recommended from me.

Hahaha Roast Goose aside, I'm here partly today also because of a Kind Recommendation from Amelia about some sort of Event in Santai Square and since I am already planning on visiting Taman Setia Indah, I figured why not just pop over. ๐
The Event is called "Duduk Playground" planned by what seems to be the Property Developer of Eco Springs? You can find more Details about it through this Official Facebook Page Link.
๐️ Event Dates: 23-May-2026 (Saturday) and 24-May-2026 (Sunday)
⏱️ Event Time: 4.00pm to 11.00pm

Given that its located WAYYY up North in Johor Bahru and cost over RM20.00 Grab Fare to go, ๐ unless you are already in Taman Setia Indah, I don't feel this place is worth to specifically queue Kastam to come to JB for. ๐ I guess its not meant for Singaporeans, but targeted more for Nearby Residents lah. ๐ค
I didn't bother to wait for the event to start as I was there more to take photos of the Actual Restorans there. ๐ท The Future Post for this Place will be more of an Overview of the Location, more to let Readers of this Blog know of its Existence than anything. It was quite interesting to catch the Event Staffs being given a Pre-Event-Briefing though. ๐ค They all look very young. I wonder if they are Part-Timers or Staffs of the Property Developer? Must be quite sian kena arrow to have to work on a Weekend. ๐

And of course a Couple of More Places I visited and a Sneak Peak of the Other Dishes I ate! ๐

Below are the Complete List of Eateries I visited if you are interested. ๐
(Hahaha no, there are No Unannounced Surprise Visit this time. ๐
