This is apparently a Very Famous Eatery in Taman Nong Chik that was kindly recommended by Amelia. According to her Vivid and Candid Description, JB Locals here know it more as "Big Boob Laksa". Yes, I know right? ๐Ÿ˜…

According to her Vivid Description:
"The Nickname in Teochew Dialect was Chap Liap Nee Laksa (10 Boobs Laksa) The Mother, her 3 Daughters + 1 Indon Helper all 5 of them all got Big Boobs. Especially the Mother like to wear Low Cut show her Longkang (Cleavage)"

Wow ... erm Vivid and Candid huh?
๐Ÿ˜…

The Actual Eatery itself is a Relatively Large Somewhat Older Looking Kopitiam. Non-Airconditioned but was Airy and Comfortable. There were alot of Customers within on a Saturday Morning. Not Full House at 9.00am although it certainly quickly filled up with More Customers the longer I was here. Always a Good Sign of a Popular Place I reckon.

As soon as I reached, there is a Beautifully Delicious Aroma of Otak-Otak on the Grill right at the Entrance. Here is also where you will meet a Young Lady Front Cashier Staff before you even go inside. This Young Lady was Polite but Not the Smiling Type. Stoic Looking, the way she took my order felt like I was talking to my SAF Platoon Sergeant. ๐Ÿ˜…

Hahaha Very Efficient and Very Militaristic was my First Impression of this Place.
๐Ÿ˜…

There was a Slight Issue with receiving a Wrong Order from a Customer and I observed her also being the Mediator reaching out to Pacify and Perform what I would describe as a "Efficient Customer Service" to defuse any Potential Situation. The Tone she used was a Friendly, yet No-Nonsense Firm Tone.

This is quite Impressive Customer Service Skills I'm seeing here, but I wished she do relax a little though.
๐Ÿ˜…

How to Order your Food:

1) Before you enter into the Place, place your order with this Platoon SGT Young Lady at the Front Counter.
It was a tad stressful needing to order first, luckily there weren't other customers behind me, so I would recommend to check the Menu I posted to get an Idea of what you want before you come here. Here is where you also order your Drinks. Do note that they don't have any Hot Drinks like Kopi-O, just Processed Bottled Ones.

2) Pay first before taking your seat and your food will be served up to your Table.
The Rest of the Staffs were more Chill compared to her. Polite and Mostly Reserved. Anyway it took 5 Mins for the Otak-Otak, and 15 Mins for the Laksa. Decent Timing for the Level of Customers during that time.

Quality of the Sambal

Oh this is Very Good. Its Haebee Based with a Haebee Grittiness. What I like is this Dark Soy Sauce type of Presence and Saltiness which is a Power Combo when combined with the Haebee. Initially not Spicy but does grow into a Gentle Heat in your Throat. This is a Very Good Sambal.

Otak-Otak = (RM1.20 each)

Ordered this to try of course because of its Delicious Aroma on the Grill as I entered. The Actual Otak thankfully does not disappoint. Plump and Actually Juicy Tender to the Bite, this was not those Overly Dry type.

I liked the Nice Otak Fishiness that's also Not Overly Fishy with a Lemak Lemak Coconut Milky Presence too. Not Very Spicy and won't Bite. I really enjoyed how Fleshy and Juicy this Otak was. Adding it to the Laksa enhanced the Laksa even more. I definitely can recommend to order this.

Signature Laksa (Small, Cockles, Lao Shu Fen) = RM13.00

Even for a Small, I thought it was a Decent No Stingy Looking Bowl of Laksa as you can see.
Even before eating, the Laksa Gravy itself already looks and smells really Impressive.

The Dish itself comes with:

11 Pieces of Sihum
2 Pieces of Taupok
2 Fried Wantons
2 Fried Fish Balls
2 Fishcake Slices
Taugeh
Lao Shu Fen ่€้ผ ็ฒ‰ Noodles of course

Quality of the Laksa Broth

Immediately Impressed with this. Rich, Creamy and Gao Gao Lemak Lemak with a Noticeable Lemongrassy Fragrance. Texture is not Gritty Gritty type, this was more Smooth Creamy and was Sinfully Rich to Drink. Spicy but also Not Overly Spicy maintaining a Gentle Heat. I really like this Creamy Rich Broth and I was so tempted to drink this dry.

Quality of the Lao Shu Fen ่€้ผ ็ฒ‰ Noodles

Hahaha ever since I chose this as a Carb when I visited
Girl and Mommy Curry Mee in KL, I told myself I will choose this as Noodles in Future Curry Mee / Laksas that I eat. Although most certainly from some Package, these were indeed Perfect to Slurp with that Rich Creamy Broth smoothly down the Gullet. Yum.

11 Pieces of Sihum (Blood Cockles)

Amount of Sihum given is Acceptable for the Price and I do like that they are More Fat and Juicy, not the Small Small types. Their Presence injects a Decent Seafoody Taste into the Dish.

Fresh off the Shell, I even observed the Staffs here busy extracting out the Shell when I was there as you can see.
Not Easy Job ๅพˆๅคšๅŠŸ. I appreciate the Amount of Effort here.

Fried Wanton

Actually these aren't exactly Wantons but rather Fried Wanton Skins with No Fillings. Clever because of course without any Meat Filling, this cuts costs tremendously. Its Main Purpose is to deliver a Fried Crunch Factor into the Dish.

Rest of the Ingredients

Nothing Special about the Taupok, Fish Cake Slices and Fried Fishballs. They're typical Packaged Processed Items and taste exactly like how you'd expect them to taste.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM1.20 (S$0.40) for Each Otak-Otak, these were Definitely Worth the Price. Even before you step into the Eatery you can already smell the Delicious Aroma. I'm glad that the Actual Otak themselves didn't disappoint as they were Juicy and Fleshy, not the Dry Dry type. Fishy but also Not Overly Fishy.

Adding them to the Laksa enhanced the Dish even more. Hahaha I would have easily ordered at least 20 of them to gorge if I didn't need to reserve my Tummy to eat other things during the Trip.

At the Price of RM13.00 (S$4.20) isn't that Particularly Cheap for this Small Bowl of Laksa, but its the Broth/Gravy that does it for me. Rich, Creamy and Gao Gao Lemak Lemak.

I love Laksa Broths that are as Lemak as this. Truly the Soul of the Dish, I really wanted to drink this dry but I had to refrain myself. Hahaha can't be helped lah, Old already, need to Agar Tarek abit.

Don't forget to add their Equally Superb Haebee Based Sambal and choose Lao Shu Fen as your Noodle Carb. In my Humble Opinion, I feel ่€้ผ ็ฒ‰ is the one that pairs best with Curry Mee / Laksa.

As for its "Interesting Reputation", hahaha Ladies, you don't have to worry about bringing your Man here because there is Nothing Lurid or Naughty about this Place. What this place really is, is just simply a Bowl of Laksa that is done very well indeed that I can definitely recommend if you're looking for a Very Gao Gao Lemak Rich Creamy type of Laksa.

If I have a issue with the place though, I wish that Front Cashier Lady ease up a little. Her every action and mannerisms felt so Stoic and Militaristic that I almost wanted to shout "PLATOON SERGEANT, I FINISHED MY MEAL!" at the end of my Meal
๐Ÿ˜… Hahaha! Don't miss out on this Place if you are here in Taman Nong Chik!
