Goose is a Difficult to find Poultry in South East Asia. 🤔 Not only is it Rare in Singapore, 🇸🇬🤔 its also Rare in Malaysia JB too. 🇲🇾🤔 So far in my JB Travels I've only seen 2 Places that sell it. One is
CMJ Kitchen 潮满记老潮汕饭店 in RnF Mall that I reviewed previously, and this place.

Please note that Roast Goose is also not available everyday here. 🪿🤔 I was lucky it was available when I direct walked in, 😅 so I would recommend to refer to the Business Card I posted and give them a Call / Whatsapp to check before you visit to avoid disappointment. 👍
Do also take note that they don't sell Roast Goose Plate by Plate. 🍽️ If you want to order this, you can only choose Whole (RM298), Half (RM158), Upper (RM78) and Lower (RM88) 💵

This Restoran itself is a More Atas Level Eatery. Air-Conditioned and the interior is furnished to be those 酒楼 Level that are capable of handling Larger Scale Banquets. 👍 There weren't much Customers when I visited at 1.40pm on a Saturday Afternoon. Abit 冷清清 as you can see from the Video. 🤔

The Staffs comprise of Mostly Myanmar Folks who are led by a China Chinese Female Supervisor. 🤵‍♀️ Friendly and Polite, I have no issues with the Customer Service overall.

I especially appreciate when One of the Myanmar Staffs, seemingly on his Own Initiative without me asking, nicely offered if I wanted a Pair of Plastic Glove to eat with my Uncut Roast Goose Drummy.
Not Bad at all. 👍

It took 10 Mins for the Roast Goose to be served up. Quite a Long Wait considering there wasn't much customers when I visited. 🤔
The Plum Sauce Condiment served on the Side is not Bad. 🍯

Not Overly Sourish, More Watery in Texture, it had a Nice Honey Sweet Taste. 😋 Decent Condiment to eat with Roasted Meats in General.

🪿 Roast Goose Lower Half (No Rice, No Drinks) = RM88.00

Note: I specifically requested for them not to chop the Drummy. 🍗

Presentation of the Dish

Firstly, I appreciate that they correctly followed my Specific Request to Not Chop the Drummy. 👍 I also love how they presented this Beautifully Plated in a Porcelain? sort of Claypot Container. 🫕
When I lifted the Claypot to check, I was Super Amused to see a Small Tea Candle being used instead of Solid Fuel that you'd normally expect. 🕯️ I was originally skeptical if this Mini Tea Candle could provide ample heating for the Dish, 🔥🤔

As the Meal went on, it did heat up the Dish sufficiantly although not evenly. Throughout my Meal the Dish managed to Stay Warm and never got Cold so hey I guess this Tea Candle does its job well enough. 🕯️😅
As for the Amount of Meat, other then the Uncut Drummy, I counted a total of 11 Pieces of Goose Meat/Thigh. 👍

🪿 Quality of the Roast Goose

Although its advertised as a Roast Goose, this isn't like those 脆皮 HK-Styled Roasted Goose, but is more like 当归鸭, 水水 Zhup Zhup type. 💦 The Zhup even looks similar to the type of Zhup that you'd normally get for 当归鸭. 🦆 That said, it doesn't have any 当归 taste though. Its more of a Watery Saltish Braised Zhup that has much of the Goose Fat rendered in it. 😋 Clean Tasting, Tad Oily, Saltish and not overly so, it was still a Savoury Delicious Zhup to lum. 🍯😋

And now on to that Big Fat Uncut Goose Drummy....Muahahaha! 🍗😄

Hahaha because I specifically requested not to Cut the Goose Drummy, I also noticed the Myanmar Staffs seems to want to crowd near to my Table to see me take a Bite out of it. 🪿😅
I did the Same Thing as I did in Hong Kong. 🇭🇰👍

Let me tell you once again, NOTHING beats the Feeling of Munching and Tearing into this Big Fat Goose Drummy like an Uncouth Barbarian 野人的梦! 🍖😋

OMG...that Wet Wet Zhup Zhup Munch was AMAZING!! 💦❤️ Unlike HK-Styled 脆皮 Roast Goose I ate in HK, the First Thing I immediately noticed was the Lack of Solid Goose Fat. 🤔 Because of how its made, most of the Fat has already rendered into the Zhup. 🍯👍

While I do miss that Decadent Creamy Fat, it also makes this Noticeably Much Less Jelak to eat.
😋 There is Much More Emphasis this time on the Goose Meat itself which was Beautifully Clean and Juicy Tasting with Zero Gaminess. 🪿😋

Once again as I explained before in my Previous Hong Kong Post, because Visually Roast Goose really looks like a Roast Duck, 🤔 your Brain will initially think this is a Duck and expect that Familiar Duck Meat Aftertaste, 🦆 but this Aftertaste will never come because this is Goose, not Duck. 🪿

Again, if you have never tried Goose before, the Closest Thing I can describe eating this is like eating a Very Clean, No-Gamey Version of a 当归鸭 that doesn't taste like a 当归鸭. 🦆😅 Goose really is a Clean Tasting, High Quality Poultry. People who have eaten Goose before will know what I'm trying to describe here. 🪿👍

Due to my Condition, I couldn't eat alot of that Honey Sweet Plum Zhup Condiment, but I still drizzled a little on the Drummy. 🍗 The Sweetness from this really made this Meat Bloom with a Delightful Sweetness and brings it up to Another Level. 👍

If you are able to eat this Plum Zhup, I would recommend to go ahead and lum it as it does enhance this Roast Goose even more. Power.
🍯👍
Needless to say, I EASILY Solo Wolfed Down the Rest of this Roast Goose 🪿😋 and gave out the Longest and Most Satisfying After-Meal Burp. Ultimate Shiok to the Max! Burrrrrrrppp! 😅

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

This Roast Goose (Lower Half) cost RM88.00 (S$27.00) and the Final Bill including Service Taxes came up to RM100.30 (S$31.00). Certainly Not Cheap at all. 💵🤔

To do a Comparison, a Roast Goose Drummy I bought from Hong Kong itself (No Rice) was 🇭🇰 HKD124.00 (S$20.50) and it didn't come with the Extra 11 Pieces I had here, so I reckon the Price is more or less about the same here when compared to Hong Kong itself. 🤔
You will need to decide whether this is worth it for you given that Goose is Extremely Rare to find in Singapore. 真的是有钱都吃不到. 💵😅

Absolutely Worth it for me though. 👍 Being able to grab a Whole Goose Drummy like a 野人的夢 Total Barbarian 大口大口吃 Solo like this without anyone to kachiao or judge me is just Next Level Meat Heaven Bliss. ❤️😋
Hahaha why come to JB only to eat Mere Roast Duck 🦆 when you can indulge and eat ROAST GOOSE? 🪿😋

No issues with this Restoran or its Customer Service. 👍 Although abit Wierd, I thought it was Kindda Adorable to notice some of the Myanmar Staffs curiously crowd round me watching as I wolf down this Whole Lower Goose by myself. 🪿😅 Hahaha I reckon I'm prolly the 1st Person who order their Roast Goose like this. 😅

After the Meal, I went up to the Supervisor and gave her a Thumbs Up. 讚! 🤵‍♀️👍 She appreciated the Gesture and even mentioned they also sell HK-Styled Roasted Pigeons! 🐦😳 As I've eaten the Authentic Thing in HK, I will definitely be trying this too the next time I'm here! 😄
Having said though, my Main Concern is that the Restoran itself is rather Empty 冷清清 🤔 not much Customers even on a Saturday Afternoon as you can see although to be fair it was a Off-Lunch Hour when I visited. 🤔

So if you would like to try Roast Goose in JB, I would recommend to come visit this as soon as you can because I'm just not sure how long this Restoran can sustain if it felt so 冷清清 even on a Saturday. 🤔 Maybe they're more Popular during Meal Times? 🤔

Really Happy to finally be able to find Roast Goose in JB though! 🇲🇾🪿 I hope to come back in the Future to try out their Roasted Pigeons 🐦 ... and Another Uncut Roast Goose Drummy of course! 😋🪿
