Kedai Kopi Xuu Yau is a Popular Well-Reviewed WTM Eatery 🍜 that used to be located for Many Years at the Popular Jalan Tan Hiok Nee Street 🤔 that I have visited and reviewed before a Couple of Years ago. It has since left its Iconic Location and set up shop in Taman Sentosa. 🤔

Compared to their Previous Stall in Jalan Tan Hiok Nee which I would describe as a Very Small Shack, this New Place at this Kopitiam Styled Shophouse is Very Much Bigger with alot More Seatings. 👍 Non-Airconditioned but Airy, 🌬️ I thought the Place has a Much Brighter Lighting too. 👍 Most of the Staffs here are Myanmar Folks who are Friendly, Polite and Keep to Themselves. I liked that some of them can actually speak abit of Mandarin. 👍

Despite moving to a New Location, the Eatery seems to have retain its Popularity as even at 7.00am on a Friday Weekday Morning as there were at least 8 Tables of Customers with Brisk Business of even more Customers coming and going as I observed. Impressive. 👍 It took 3 Minutes for the Kopi-O-Kosong and 7 Mins for the WTM. Everything was served up within 7 Mins. Not Bad Timing.

Served in a Standard Coffee Cup, this had a Fragrant Aroma. 👍 Robust but Not say Very Gao Gao. It has a Noticeable Bitter Note to it, but Not Unpleasantly Bitter.

This was a Decent Strong Coffee that will wake you up nicely in the Morning. ☕👍






🍜 W2 Wantan Mee White Spicy (Small) = RM9.00

Comes with a Small Bowl of Soup and 4 Baby Wantons. 🥟 The Soup was Decent, although I detected a Slight Bit of MSG but not too much. Not Alkaliney, Not Peppery, Not Overly Salty, this was Decently Acceptable and Savoury. 🥣 The 4 Wantons were as Baby Small as you'd expect for a Typical South-East Asian Styled. 🤔 Soft and Smooth Skin, the Meat Filling has a Soft Bite. Slightly Salty with a Prominent Release of Porkiness but Not Overly Porky. Decent and Acceptable Wanton Quality. 😋


At First Look, the Noodles don't look alot in a Small Bowl but once you Mix it up it looks more. 🍜🤔 Bite Texture isn't Super QQ type but with a Soft Bounce. What I enjoyed is the Elevated Level of Spiciness that won't Bite, but will linger long in your Mouth. 🌶️😋

The 6 Thin Slices of Char Siew Quality were like between a HK-Styled Roasted and a Simple Red Colouring Dry Dry Type. 🍖🤔 Meaty and Slightly Oily, the Sweetness of the Zhup they used is Prominent and almost covered up the Original Meaty 原味 of the Meat. 🍯 This is a Noticeably Sweet Char Siew.

The 2 or 3 Pieces of Pork Lard Crisps injected a Nice 猪油香味 and added alot to the Dish. 🐷😋 I wish there were more given though. I didn't ask if you can add more. Hahaha I also try to eat lesser nowadays for Health's Sake lah. 😅

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM2.70 (S$0.90) was an Affordable Price for this Coffee. ☕ Decently Strong with a Noticeable Bitter Note, this was a Robust Coffee that will wake you up but not slap you hard. Compared to the Packaged 3-In-1 Coffee Pack that they used previously in their Old Place, this was definitely a Much Better Step-Up in Quality. ☕👍

At the Price of RM9.00 (S$2.80) was a Decent Price for the WTM even though it is a Small Bowl. Overall a Very Decent Bowl of WTM, it was the Spiciness in the Noodles that does it for me. 🍜🌶️ I also appreciated that the Char Siew isn't like those Paper Thin Super Dry Dry Type although they do noticeably taste Sweeter. 🤔

Overall, compared to their Old Location in Jalan Tan Hiok Nee, this was a Much Larger Spacious Place with More Modern Furnishings. 👍 That said, I do miss their Very Old Classic Kampung 古色古香 Feel which is certainly lost at this New Place. 😅

I liked that they stepped up their Coffee Game from the 3-In-1 Packet they used to serve. ☕👍 Quality of the WTM has generally not degraded. This is still a Very Competently Made WTM that you won't go wrong for a Breakfast to kickstart your Day. 🌞🍜 If you are nearby the Area, I can definitely still recommend this to give it a Try if you are craving for some Classic WTM for your Breakfast. 🍜☕
