This one was initially a Completely Random Discovery on Google Maps. 🌏 Its actualy just a Lone Street Food Uncle riding a Tricycle 👴🚲 and selling Fried Chicken. 🐔🍗 This is Literal Classic Street Food at its Finest.
Even before reaching this place, it seems that everyone that I talked to knows this Tricycle Uncle. 👴🚲 Whenever I asked about this Uncle, it seems like the Whole Kuching knows who he is. 😅
1 Friendly Grab Driver even directed me to the Tricycle that he parked and where he usually sets up his stall. (Its at the Mini Fountain near the Hong San Si Chinese Temple) 🤔
Just look at how Adorable the Food Stall looks! ♥️ Tell me, where in Singapore can you still find such a Rustic Looking Mobile Food Stall? 😅 Uncle himself is a very Friendly and Humble man and has an Assistant helping him. When I told him about how Famous he was, he was really modest and even a little shy. 😅 Really a down to earth and very humble chap. I enjoyed my time chatting and talking about everything under the sun with him. ♥️
The Batter is not the Thick Crispy type, also not too thin and is just nice. Chicken itself has noticeable salty taste. Very 古早味 👍 The taste of this Fried Chicken reminds me of the type of Very Old Style Fried Chicken 🐔🍗 that I have eaten many years ago in my Primary School Days over 35 years ago.
Nowadays, Fried Chicken are about a Thick Crunchy Batter or the Gimmicky Sauces that accompanies them. 🍯🤔 Not so for this one. If you have eaten Old-School type of Fried Chicken, you'll understand what I mean. 🍗😋 This is a very Nostalgic Unpretentious Down to Earth, Back to Basics Taste that won't lose to all the Trendy Fried Chicken nowadays. 🐔👍
Because I ate them Fresh and Hot off the Pan, every bite of the Chicken had Juices squirting out like nobody's business. 🐔💦 Pure Bliss! The Fried Chicken is so Super Piping Hot, and Juicy OMG!! 🔥♥️ Hahaha Uncle was even nice enough to remind me to take it easy because they might be too hot. Hahaha I reckon his eyes went big big when he saw me "inhaled" them. 😅 Oh they were so Good! ♥️
On this trip, I realize I enjoyed Fried Chicken Butts. 🐔😅 This is not a regular item you'd normally see in Fried Chicken Outlets and tbh I also didn't really think i'd like them, but these were so Sinfully Good! 😋 They're fried so well, I'd describe them as eating a Big Fat Oily Popcorn Chicken. 🐔😋 No smell whatsoever, this is Pure Fatty Chicken Goodness.
When chatting with the Uncle more, he revealed that actually he is considered 2nd Generation already. 🤔 His Parents were the 1st Generation who made this famous and he only officially took over about 5 years ago. 🤔 I'm not kidding when I say this Uncle is Famous. Even when I was there, there will be constant cars driving by and everyone greeting him or asking if his stall is ready. 👍 You can really feel the close knit community spirit that they have with each other. ♥️
If you would like to try this, Uncle starts at 7.00am, 🌞 and you only have a short 2 hours window, because by 9.00am, everything would have already been sold out. When I came back at 9.00am+ He had already packed up his Stall. 😳 Although there weren't any long queues when I was there, people there buy in bulk and its not uncommon for folks to buy 10-15 pieces at one go. 🛍️😳 As there are limited stocks, his Fried Chicken are very easily snapped up fast.
If you long for Old School Classic Styled Fried Chicken sold on a very Adorable Tricycle styled Mobile Street Food Stall, this place is highly recommended. 👍 Really very friendly chap, this Uncle is an Absolute Gem of Kuching! 👴🚲
