Black Vinegar White Kolo Mee + Zheng = RM13.00
I've eaten Kolo Mee in Singapore before and thought it was nothing special. This is the 1st Time I'm trying out Actual Authentic Sarawak Kolo Mee in Sarawak and I've read that apparently Kim Joo makes a good bowl of it. 🍜🤔 Indeed they do, and NOW I understand why Kolo Mee is so highly regarded by Sarawakians. 😳🍜
Kolo Mee itself looks Very Plain and Simple. 🍜🤔 The Noodles feels like a Slight Variation of Maggie Mee and The Magic really comes together when you mix the Sauce and Noodles together. 🍯🍜 Soul of the Dish is really the Soy Sauce Based Sauce. It has a Subtle Nice Salty and Savoury Flavour which pairs beautifully with the Lovely Al-Dente Kolo Mee making this a Winning Combination. Not Super QQ but just the Nice QQ. 🍜😋
There really is a very Subtle Taste of Black Vinegar within and it does not try to upstage and overpower everything. 🍯🤔 If fits in just right. Just this bowl of Kolo Mee alone by itself is already Fantastic! 🍜😋
"Zheng" in this case refers to a Side of Pork Soup which is has Generous Servings of various Pork Parts. 🐷🍲 While it doesn't have a Overly Porky Taste, it does have a noticeable Taugeh Taste. 🥬 The Soup also is abit Oily but in a Good Way and is a very Warm and Comforting Soup. Pairing this to eat with the Already Excellent Kolo Mee is Perfect! 🍲😋
The Chilli provided is Very Sourish and tastes almost like Thai Vinegar Prik Nam Som Chilli. 🇹🇭🌶️ It's Bitingly Spicy Good, but the Noodles are already Good without it.
Even coming back to Singapore, I can still remember how Delicious that Bowl of Plain Kolo Mee tasted. 🍜😋 It really was that good. So far no Kolo Mee in Singapore has this level of Mastery. This Bowl of Kolo Mee is an Absolute Masterpiece. 🍜😋
