Paradise Dynasty is a Higher End Chinese 酒楼 Restaurant that is also available in Singapore. I have admittedly never been to their Singapore Branches (hahaha because Expensive lah) So when I saw a Branch here in Midvalley Mall, I thought I'd give it  a try.

The Branch here Uniquely has a Hotpot Brand "Beauty in a Pot" (which I think is also available in Singapore) located right next to it. I reckon both of them are probably under the Same Boss? While I did not eat there, you can take a look at the Photo I've taken of how it looks like.

As for Paradise Dynasty itself, understandably there were not much Customers on a Weekday Morning. Nicely Air-Conditioned and Comfortably Cooling, the Place is Nicely Furnished like a Typical Higher-End Chinese 酒楼 Style.

The Music Background they use here is Kindda Unique. I think its some Soft Piano Instrumentals mixed with some Nature Sounds?

Most of the Staffs here are Myanmar Folks. They behaved as Smartly and Professionally as you would expect from a Chinese 酒楼 of this Caliber. I even liked them greeting 欢迎光临 to Customers even though the Pronounciation isn't accurate. They aren't Fluent in Mandarin but do speak Decent English.

Do note that this is a Restaurant that will Offer Appetizers like Peanuts and what looks like a Wood Fungus Dish when you sit down. They're not Complimentary of course, so go ahead and reject Politely if you don't want them.

Ordering is via Pencil and Paper although I found it Slightly Amusing that they did not provide a Pencil for this. Perhaps this is something they need to look into. No Biggie really, you can also order via their QR Code Menu.
Being my First Time here, I have no idea what to order. All the Dishes I ordered are listed as "Chefs Recommendation" in their Menu.

Because this is a More Atas Level of Restaurant, I requested for them to serve up all of the Dishes together. Unfortunately they were not able to do it, but I appreciate that they tried. I also appreciate when the Staff also preempted me that the Soup would take at least a 10 Mins Wait.

Anyway it took 7 Mins for the Radish Pastry, 9 Mins for the XLB, and a Whopping 23 Mins for the Soup! Although I have been preempted about the Soup, I still find it Unusually Long for them to take 23 Mins for the Soup even though there weren't much Customers on a Weekday Morning.

A2 招牌原味小笼包 Signature Original Xiao Long Bao (6 Pieces) = RM17.90

I ordered this simply because their Main Signboard proudly proclaimed "Legend of Xiao Long Bao", so of course I have to order this to try.
The Vinegar Condiment provided with this tastes Lightly Sweetish and Not really very Vinegary at all. I liked that they used a Piece of Cloth as Padding in the Dim Sum Basket.

Even after 23 Mins, I thought the Skin maintained a Tender Soft Texture and never broke when I picked them up with a Chopstick. Meat Filling within was a Tad Porky but also not Overly So.

Amount of Soup Broth for each XLB was about a Tablespoon each and had a 鸡汤 sort of Taste that wasn't Overly Salty. Overall a Very Decent Quality XLB and I feel is about Comparable in Quality to DTF.

B1 萝卜丝酥饼 Radish Pastry (3 Pieces) = RM14.50

Served in 3 Pieces and Presented with a Simple Beautiful Elegance, there is a Very Delicious Fried 油香味 Aroma wafting from them. I simply LOVE the Beautiful Pastry Layering on these. This was a Culinary Work of Art.

What impressed me even more was that even after 23 Mins of Waiting, this Layered Pastry Skin remained 酥脆 Delightfully Crisp with Not a Single Nua Nua. As I bite into this, I can only describe it as "Biting into Air". So Light and Airy! And its not those Flakey until Flake all over the Place type of Pastry.

Within this, is the Radish (Mangguang) Filling which immediately Exploded its Juices 爆汁 Soft and Warm in my Mouth. Not Overly Salty, I feel this Mangguang is boiled even Softer than what you'd normally find in a Regular Popiah. Very Nice!

C1 清炖鸡汤 Double-Boiled Chicken Soup = RM22.90

For a Dish that made me wait 23 Mins for it, I'll admit I'm not really impressed when it was eventually served up.
This Soup is served in a Small Bowl with 4 Very Small Pieces of Chicken Cuts. The Soup itself is a Tad Oily but Not Overly So. Nothing Herbal about this, it is Purely a Chicken Soup thru and thru. Slightly Saltish but not Overly So, the Chicken Essence in this is Noticeable but not the Super Robust Gao Gao type.

The Chicken Meat were Soft and Tender with No Dryness and Not Too Chickeny in Taste. Decent and Acceptable if very Standard in Taste. Not a Low Effort type of Soup, but I expected something more impressive that I waited over 20mins for.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

For the XLBs, let us do a Comparison in Price with 鼎泰豐 Din Tai Fung and Dragon-i which are both in JB City Square Mall.

Please note, this is a Comparison of Shopping Mall Level XLB, so please don't complain these are Expensive compared to a Kopitiam Level of XLB.

DTF XLB (6 Pieces) = RM18.10/S$5.60 (Feb 2025 Price)
Dragon-i (4 Pieces) =  RM13.80/S$4.30 (Feb 2025 Price)
Paradise Dynasty = (6 Pieces) = RM17.90/S$5.50 (Oct 2025 Price)

If we calculate the Price Per XLB, this is the Result.

DTF (Price per XLB) = RM3.01/S$0.94
Dragon-i (Price per XLB) = RM3.45/S$1.10
Paradise Dynasty (Price Per XLB) = RM2.98/S$0.92

Do note that the Prices for DTF and Dragon-i were taken back in Feb 2025 so their Current Prices might be even more now.
Nevertheless, based on this Data, it is clear that Paradise Dynasty is the More Affordable XLB in terms of Price per XLB compared to the other 2. Although admittedly not a Huge Price Difference if we factor in Transport Cost to this Mall itself.

Overall Quality-Wise, I have no issues with Paradise Dynasty's XLB. Even after 23 Mins of waiting, I thought they still tasted Very Decent in Quality. I personally feel they aren't too different in taste when compared to DTF tbh. I appreciate that they used a Cloth Padding to put the XLBs which made this feel more Premium as compared to using a Parchment Paper so theres that too.

At the Price of RM14.50 (S$4.50) for 3 Pieces of this Radish Pastry, which makes it cost an Average of RM4.83 (S$1.50) per Piece, which although not say Cheap, I felt was still worth it because of how Well they were made.

Not only was it wrapped with a Beautiful Pastry Layering that certainly requires a Decent Amount of Skill, the Most Impressive Thing was this Pastry remained Beautifully 酥脆 Crisp and Never Went Nua Nua even after 23 Mins after they were served up. Biting into them felt like I was Biting into Air. So Airy and Light, the Mangguang within was so Juicy 爆汁 all over my Mouth, it was an Absolute Delight.

So you can imagine how much more Amazing this would be had I eaten them Fresh and Piping Hot when it was just served up? I love this Dish the Most. If you order only ONE item, from this Restaurant, I would Highly Recommend you order this one. Shiokness.

At the Price of RM22.90 (S$7.10) for this Bowl of Chicken Soup, this unusually took the Longest to serve up at 23 Minutes which was Extremely Unusual given that there were Not Much Customers on a Weekday Morning.
Interestingly this Long Wait made their Other Dishes shine even more in this Review hahaha.

As for the Soup itself, its a Decent Enough Non-Herbal Chicken Soup but also nothing really Amazing or Mind-Blowing. I don't feel this is really worth to order considering its Price and the fact it needs 23 Mins to be served up.

Overall, I have no issues with this Restaurant. Its a Decent Enough Higher-End Chinese 酒楼-Level type of Restaurant with the Expected Professional Classy Customer Service that offers a Very Competitive Pricing at a Very Comparable Quality XLB when compared with DTF. I feel the Quality of the XLB for both are about the same with probably some Minor Negligible Differences.

Now I have never been to their Singapore Branch so I am unable to do a Comparison of Prices. If anyone has eaten before, please do share your Opinion about their JB Menu Prices as compared to their SG Menu Prices.

What impressed me most however is their Radish Pastry.
As I mentioned, if you only order ONE item from this Restaurant, this is the one to go for. I feel THIS is their True Signature for this Place. Not only was this Culinarily a Work of Art, it was Very Impressive for it to maintain Crisp 酥脆 even after 23 Mins.

If you are looking for a Higher-End Chinese 酒楼-Level of Restaurant in Midvalley Mall and is OK with the Prices on their Menu, I can recommend this place to give it a try.
