This is the Largest Ramadan Bazaar in the Whole of Malaysia Johor. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Not just Johor Bahru mind you, but the State of Johor Malaysia. Apparently for over 10 Years already, this Ramadan Bazaar is held Every Year at the Same Open Carpark Location in Angsana Mall.

Because Hari Raya Puasa is obviously a Very Important Festive Season in Malaysia, you can imagine how important and significant such a Bazaar Ramadan is. ๐Ÿ‘ It is also the Main Reason why Angsana Mall is listed in my Top 8 Shopping Malls List in Johor Bahru.

Important Protip: DO NOT DRIVE to this Place. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ™…‍♂️
From what I can see, the Road Traffic here is EXTREMELY CONGESTED during this Ramadan Season. Don't bother driving here only to probably waste time trying to find an Available Parking Space. The Smart and Convenient Thing to do is to just take Grab instead.

Important Information and Timings to take Note:

A Bazaar Ramadan is a Festive Gathering consisting of both Shopping and Food / Dining but unlike other Food Events / Festivals out there, there are some Religious Implications that dictates a Couple of Important Notes you will need to take note of especially if you are a Foreigner who is New to the Culture and Customs in South-East Asia.

Important Note 1:

Because of the Tropical Weather in Malaysia (and Singapore), it can be Extremely Warm and Humid. ๐Ÿฅต Having said that, please dress Appropriately, Modestly and Conservatively when you visit a Bazaar Ramadan. DO NOT wear Skimpy or Revealing Clothings even if the Weather is Scorching Hot. ๐Ÿ‘™๐Ÿ™…‍♂️ Do bring an Umbrella if you need. ☂️ For Ladies, covering up your Hair with a Scarf is not Required, but will be Appreciated.

Important Note 2:

Avoid Bringing Pets. Especially DO NOT bring your Pet Dog to stroll around willy-nilly in the Bazaar. ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿถ Leave your Fur Babies behind.

Important Note 3:

Although the Bazaar's Operating Time is 12.00pm to 8.00pm, Before 7.30pm is where the Muslim Folks have been Fasting without a Drop of Water or Food from Dawn to Dusk during the Entire Month of Ramadan.

Iftar (Breaking of Fasting) is the only time when Muslim Folks can start Consumption and it varies Daily, but is usually between 7.00pm to 7.30pm.
While the Food Stalls are Open for Business, DO NOT Eat or Drink Openly while walking among the Crowds before 7.30pm๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿฝ️

The Bazaar Ramadan consists of 4 Main Sections:
I will of course describe each section in Detail.

๐Ÿ›️ The Shopping Tentage Section
๐Ÿฝ️ The Dining-Hall Tentage Section
๐Ÿ˜‹ The Main Food Stalls Section
๐ŸŽ† The Fireworks Stalls Section

There are No Portable Toilets / Restrooms from what I see.
If you need, Angsana Mall itself is just nearby so you can just go back to the Mall.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

๐Ÿ›️ The Shopping Tentage Section
This is a Long Shopping Tentage where Vendors will gather to sell their Packaged Kuih-Kuihs.
From what I see, it is solely focused on Selling Foodstuffs, not Clothings.

๐Ÿฝ️ The Dining-Hall Tentage Section

This is located just next to the Shopping Tentage Section where you can bring your food to consume. It consists of both a Tables and Chairs Area for you to sit down, and also a Special Open Flat Area where you can bring a Picnic Mat for a More Traditional Kampung Kampung "Sit-Down on the Floor" Style of Eating.

Remember: Iftar (Breaking of Fasting) is the only time where Muslim Folks can start Consumption and it varies Daily, but is usually between 7.00pm to 7.30pm. If you are consuming BEFORE Iftar Timing, DO NOT walk around the Bazaar and eat / drink openly before 7.30pm. Bring your purchased Foods and Drinks over to this Location to consume discreetly and quietly.

This Dining Hall Tentage will start getting Crowded as it grows closer to Iftar so understandably Seats are Limited. Be considerate and offer seats to those who need to eat immediately. That said, you are also Very Welcome if you want to soak in the Atmosphere to join the Muslim Folks to consume together during Iftar Timing. ๐Ÿ˜„

Consider bringing a Picnic Mat and find an Available Space for you to sit down as the Dining-Hall Tentage has Areas for you to do so. I was there at 8.30pm about 1 Hour AFTER Iftar and there were still a Few Muslim Folks around Chilling and Eating. So no rush if you missed the Iftar Timing like me. Take your time and enjoy. ๐Ÿ˜„

Protip: There is also a "Special Location with a Magnificent View" that you may also choose to visit for you to eat after Iftar which I will describe later. ๐Ÿฝ️๐ŸŽ‡

๐Ÿ˜‹ The Main Food Stalls Section

This is of course the Largest Section of the Bazaar Ramadan where the Various Food / Drink Stall Vendors are Open for Business. Check out the Videos for the Crowd Levels at the Various Timings that I observed on a Saturday when I visited. By 3.00pm, ALL the Food Stalls were Open for Business. ๐Ÿ‘

Here is the Crowd Level at 1.30pm on a Saturday Afternoon.
Quite Empty and Not much Crowds at this time, some Food Stalls weren't Fully Open yet.

Here is the Crowd Level at 4.30pm on a Saturday Afternoon.
Crowds have Noticeably Increased, but was still at a Comfortable Level.

On that Note, because Iftar (Breaking of Fast) is between 7.00pm to 7.30pm, please be considerate and try to avoid buying your Foods from the Food Stalls from 5.00pm onwards as the Muslim Folks themselves will be purchasing them to prepare for consumption later during Iftar.

On a Saturday Weekend, the Best Timing to visit the Food Stalls I feel is between 4.00pm to 5.00pm where you can feel the Bazaar's Vibrant Vibe and Energy and yet it is also Not Overly Crowded. ❤️ This was also the Best Timing where you also won't inconvenience the Muslim Folks who are there to purchase Foods for their Iftar later.

Here is the Crowd Level at 8.30pm on a Saturday Evening.
As the Iftar (Breaking Fast) Timing has passed, some Food Stalls have Closed, but most were still open for Business. Crowd Level is at a Comfortable Level.

๐ŸŽ† The Fireworks Stalls Section

๐ŸŽ†๐ŸงจDetails about the Fireworks Stalls๐Ÿงจ๐ŸŽ†

Important Disclaimer:
It goes without saying that Fireworks or Firecrackers ARE NOT ALLOWED in Singapore, so please DO NOT attempt to bring them in. ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿป‍♀️ If you are a Singaporean, the only thing you can do is SEE and NO TOUCH. It is what it is.

Fireworks Stalls like these are of course the Most Unique Aspect of this Bazaar Ramadan and is something that we will NEVER EVER see in our own Singapore Bazaar Ramadan. ๐Ÿ˜… For Safety Concerns, they are located noticeably further away from the Rest of the Sections. There are about 7 Stalls of them available. Some of them were not open by 3.00pm when I was there.

I didn't go in to really explore them as I suppose they are agar agar the Same Varieties and Pricing comparable to the ones sold at Taman Johor Jaya CNY Market ๅนด่ดงๅธ‚ๅœบ 2026 that I visited previously. You can click on the Link if you're interested to find out how much they roughly cost.

Protip: Remember I mentioned earlier about a "Special Location with a Magnificent View" to eat after Iftar Timing? ๐Ÿฝ️๐ŸŽ‡ If you are ok with Loud Noises, I would recommend you sit and eat NEAR to where the Fireworks Stalls Area are because that is the Location where you can enjoy your Food AND watch Fireworks at the same time as you can see this Adorable Local Family do in this Photo. ❤️

Having said that, I visited on a Saturday and I saw Fireworks fired. I cannot confirm if People will bother to play Fireworks if you were to visit this Bazaar Ramadan on a Weekday for instance. ๐Ÿค” If not, hey why not buy a Pack and Fire them off Yourselves? ๐ŸŽ‡ I'm sure the Vendors will be more than happy to teach you how to play! ๐Ÿ˜„

Its quite an Experience to be able to enjoy watching some Free Fireworks Display while I was there! Folks were really enjoying themselves.
๐Ÿ˜„ The Fireworks were practically Non-Stop Firing when I was there even at 8.30pm! ๐ŸŽ†๐Ÿ˜„

Additional Information about Angsana Mall itself:

Because this Bazaar Ramadan is located just beside Angsana Mall, feel free to take breaks and enjoy some Mall Air-Con because the Weather can be Terribly Hot and Humid. ๐Ÿฅต

Angsana Mall also really comes alive during this Season and its also a Nice Time to Soak in the Atmosphere with the Rest of the Muslim Folks in the Festivities. ๐Ÿ˜

In Addition: Some Eateries in the Mall are also open during Ramadan Fasting before Iftar Timing. Foreign Food Franchises like KFC and Pizza Hut maintain their Regular Operating Hours, while some other Local Based Eateries change their Operating Hours during Ramadan and may only open from 2.00pm onwards.

If you are a Non-Muslim, why not show them some support while you're here? ๐Ÿ‘
Those Rentals and Operating Costs to operate during the Ramadan Season sure isn't Cheap thats for sure! ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ˜…

As long as you are a Non-Muslim, you are generally allowed to Dine-In BEFORE Iftar Timing, but it would be nice to ask and check first. You can start by asking politely: "Hello, Saya Makan Sini Boleh?" as how I've done. ☺️

If you are Interested, you may also consider Bazaar Ramadan Taman Dahlia

And so moving on, we have come to the End of this Post.
Angsana Bazaar Ramadan may be the Biggest One in the State of Malaysia Johor, but according to some Local Grab Drivers I chit chat with, most of them actually recommend Bazaar Ramadan Taman Dahlia instead as it is considered the Most Affordable in Johor Bahru. ๐Ÿค”

Hahaha it certainly makes sense that the Bigger the Bazaar Ramadan, the More Expensive the Rental, the More Expensive the Prices. ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ˜… I did not visit it so I'm unable to comment further but here are the Directions Information if you are interested. It's actually located relatively near to Angsana Mall, although KIPMall Tampoi would be nearer.
