Hey Everyone! Apologies for the Late Post!
Angsana Mall is one of my Top 8 Most Popular Shopping Malls in Malaysia Johor Bahru List which caused quite a Controversy back in my Former FB Group. 😅 I'll admit it is not that Popular of a Shopping Mall compared to some of the others in the List. 😅
The Real Reason why I'm listing it however, is because this Mall holds the Largest Annual Bazaar Ramadan in the Whole of Malaysia Johor. 😳 Not just Johor Bahru mind you, but the State of Johor Malaysia. 😳 (And yes, thats Fireworks you're hearing in the Video. There are Plenty of Fireworks here!) 🎆

Because Hari Raya Puasa is obviously a Very Important Festive Season in Malaysia, you can imagine how important and significant such a Bazaar Ramadan is. 👍
It is really the Main Reason why Angsana Mall is on the List. And perhaps because of Ramadan, this Whole Mall really comes alive as you can see. 😄 Really very nice to be able to soak in the Atmosphere with the Muslim Folks during this season. Hahaha now you see why I list this Mall in my Top 8 JB Shopping Malls list. 👍

As Hari Raya Puasa will be coming up very soon, I will of course be posting my findings and information about this place on Monday 9-Feb so do keep a lookout for it! 👍
Special Thanks to Amelia for a Special Side-Trip
Thanks to her heads-up, I've also made a Side-Trip to visit 佛光山新馬寺 FGS Hsingma Si because apparently they hold an Annual 新春灯会 Chinese New Year Light-Up Event. 🎉 The Event was supposed to have ended on 3rd-March-2026 and it was just so Fortunate that apparently it was extended where I managed to catch it just on its Last Day 7th-March-2026 this year! 😄
By the Time you read this post, the Event will have been over obviously but I thought it'll be a Nice Heads-Up if you'd like to visit for Next Year. It was so adorable to see Young Kids performing Lion Dance with such Finesse like this. 😄
Hahaha now I know why Amelia likes this place so much. 😄 It's indeed Really Beautiful with a Vibe that I would describe as a "Peaceful Majesty". ❤️ That said, it can be abit Challenging to visit though. 🤔 I will of course cover this Place in a Future Review together with a Unique Vegetarian Cafe located here. 👍

And a Couple of More Places I visited and a Sneak Peak of the Other Dishes I ate Today! 😄

Below are the Complete List of Eateries I visited today if you are interested.👍

And so this ends Day 1 of my March 2026 JB Trip to the Largest Bazaar Ramadan in Johor, Re-Exploration of Angsana Mall, and a Nice Side-Trip to 佛光山新馬寺. 👍 What will I find Tomorrow Day 2?
As always: Queue? What Queue? 😄
Hi Ryan, night owl still awake. Hahaha...Since not sleepy so baking cakes bring to Hsingma Si tomorrow for the Masters. I was there is morning around 8am to sweep dried leaves and pull weeds. The fencing with 8 LED horses, that's the vegetable garden and vegetables farm. Those decorations are all handmade by volunters, this year decoration very nice. Tomorrow onwards they will take off the decorations, will be going tomorrow to help clear thw wilted potted flowers. Went Rhu Rhu Japanese restaurant at Austin, eat too full. Hahaha...Need make reservation cos always fullhouse.
ReplyDeleteWow baking cakes at 2.00am!? 😳 Wah 姐姐, 这也太夸张了吧. 😅 anyway thanks for the heads-up! it certainly was a beautiful place. ❤️ That said, I felt the need for Visitors to scan to go in can be challenging especially for people like me who take Grab. 🤔 while going in is still ok, its harder when leaving because need to walk quite a long distance to the guard post 🚶since of course the Grab Driver cannot scan-in to reach me. Can't be helped ba, I suppose this is implemented for security measures due to current world situations. 😔 Even coming back to SG Kastam side recently have also stepped up in checks.
DeleteThe decorations all made by volunteers? 😳 wow they are very nicely done, i thought some event company was engaged to make them. going around the place, I can certainly feel the love and care from all the volunteer staffs. ❤️ One thing very special about this Monastery's Mahavira Hall 大雄宝殿 is the Very Unique and Impressive Porcelain Jade Mural instead of the Classic Big Buddha Figures in other Monasteries. 😳 Granted I haven't visited alot of Monasteries, but this was the 1st time I've seen such a Unique Style like this. Of course I didn't take any pictures of it out of respect, but it was an Eye Opening experience indeed. 🙏
Hi Ryan, hahaha... wander my neighbours got scold me in silent or not cos the baking smell definitely circulate around a few neighbours. hahahaha... sometimes 5 to 6am I bake muffin for breakfast. Especially Olympic chocolate muffin, best to eat hot.
ReplyDeleteYa, this year only they started need scan QR to go in Hsingma Si due to they have a lot of kindergarten students, close to 150+ They also have before and after school tuition classes, weekend art, music, calligraphy, lion dance classes and etc..etc..Grab can go in pickup/drop off at main lobby but driver need to scan. Huge place but very well kept, they do have fulltime workers for kitchen and do cleaning. But a lot of volunteers also help out. Meals are provided for volunteers who are on duty but no wastage lor. Each master take care of 1 department, they do lay their hands to do work not just chanting. There are around 15 masters at Hsingma Si. They also have a auditorium whereby they have a 3D screen to view the Taiwan Hsingma Si, but CNY time they close maybe enough volunteers. Their Mahavira Hall very beautiful, the Jade Mural I think done by Taiwanese. Can take photos, we do take photos infront of the Jade Mural. Next event Wesak day they have lots of food stall and bathing the Buddha ritual.
I have not been to any bazaar stalls for the past few years, brought few times not nice so I stop going. Now adays alot of stalls are half past six cook.
Hahaha I want to be your neighbour lor! 幸福 leh everyday smell Fresh Pastries and Cookies. 😄🥧 Eating FRESH Muffins for Brekkie!? Omg so Decadent! ❤️
DeleteYa I do like this Hsingma Si. Love that Library too enjoy Cooling Aircon 😌🌬️ That Yuan Dian Cafe was surprisingly Beautiful too! ❤️ For a place that I couldn't find picture of on the internet and a very low-key Google Maps entry, it was a Pleasant Surprise. What impressed me was certainly how Patient the Volunteer? Staff was so Friendly and Patient. ❤️ Everyone including the customers there has this ... Peaceful Friendliness Vibe 😌 that you would usually see when you are in a Religious Institution like this. I guess this is the True Power of Religion, which is to bring out the Goodness in People. ❤️
As for the Ramadan Bazaar, I LOVE the Vibrant Energy it had. ❤️ Muslim Folks sure know how to Party and it shows. ❤️ Love the Groovy Malay-Styled Energy Drumming, 🪘 which really brings out the festive feel and really makes u want to shake your hips to the rhythm!🕺💃 Shiok man, go there watch Non Stop Fireworks 🎆🎇 is certainly something special that we can never see in Singapore 😅 Absolutely worth to visit at least once. 👍
