Soybean Milk 豆漿🥛 and Fried Dough Fritters 豆漿油條 🥖 are a Regular Staple Taiwanese Breakfast. 🇹🇼 As Early as 6.00am in the Morning, you can see many such Franchises Open their Business for the Day for Breakfast. 🌞  They can be Very Popular and its not surprisingly to see Long Queues for them.

The One that I'm at is just one of such Popular Joints located at the Corner of a Busy Road Junction. 🛣️ When I approached this at 8.30am, there was a Long Queue of People outside waiting. 😳 Outside the Entrance is also where you can see Staffs busy Rolling and Kneading Fresh Dough 👨‍🍳🥖  in Preparation for Frying which I thought looked Really Interesting. ♥️

As for the Long Queue, there is no worry as this Queue Outside is only for Takeaways. 🛍️😅 If you want to Dine In, no need to queue and you can just walk in to grab a Seat. 🪑 There is also a Small Area Outside available for Dine-In. The Staffs are Friendly and Behave Politely 👍 although they are Very Busy and Hardly have time to Smile. 😅

The Interior of the Eatery.

The Interior Dining Area is not a Big Space that is Flanked with 4 White Tiled Walls and Metal Tables and Chairs giving it a Very Industrial Type of Look. 🤔 While there weren't alot of Dine-In Customers at 8.30am, 🕒 it got progressively more Crowded the More I was here. 🤔 By the time I finished my Meal and left at around 10.00am, it was practically Full House already. 😳 Feel free to take any Seat you want 🪑and expect to Share Seats with Others. 👍

It isn't Air-Conditioned and Felt Warm but I welcomed the Warmth and Coziness 🔥  because it felt very Comfortable compared to the Cold 17C Weather Outside when I was here. ❄️

This is also One of the Few Eateries where there is a Restroom Available 🚻  although you have to climb a Short Flight of Staircase. 🧗 So People with Mobility Issues might need to take note of this.

2) Write your Selection on the Order Chit 📝 and go queue up separately at the Section with a Little Red Sign that says "內用區 Eat Here". You can see how it looks in the Below Photo. 📷

3) Give them your Order Chit, 📝 Pay them 💵 and Wait to Collect. It only took less than a Minute for mine. Once Collected you can go back to your Seat.

4) At the End of the Meal, remember to bring your Empty Bowls and Utensils 🍽️ to a Side Section Labeled as "廚餘桶" (Kitchen Waste Bin) to return them. You can see how it looks like in my Photo Collection. 📷

🥖 油條 Fried Bread Stick = TWD20

This is Of Course the Regular 油條 Fried Dough Fritter that should be Very Familiar to Most of Us Singaporeans and Malaysians. 😋 Big and Solid, Appearance-wise it looks Pretty Much like a Regular 油條 that you've probably have seen Countless Times. 😋

When I bite into it, there was an Amazing ASMR Crispy Crunch, 💥 I felt my Brain Suddenly Stopped Working and it was as if Time almost Stood Still. 🤯🤯🤯

OMG THIS 油條 WAS SO LIGHT AND AIRY!!!! ♥️♥️♥️

I am going to sound like as if I'm Exaggerating, but as I took a Huge Bite out of this, the Amazing Crunch Sound made 2 Japanese Ladies immediately look over my Side and look at me as I savoured this Insane Dough Fritter! 🥖😅 I reckon this is the 1st time they've seen a 油條. 😅 Fwah that Crunch Sound felt like machiam I was in a Typical 油條 Commercial. Sugoi! 😅

It is Oily, but also not those Super Oily Drip Oil all over the Place Type. 👍 Really Insanely Airy, I dare say this may be the BEST 油條 I've ever eaten, ♥️ and I say this for someone who has eaten Plenty of 油條. 😅

🥛 咸豆漿 Salty Soybean Milk = TWD35

Believe it or not, despite being No Stranger to Regular Soybean Milk 豆漿, 🥛 this 咸豆漿 is something I've heard of before but never actually tried. 😅
Bubbly and Frothy, when mixed with a Spoon, 🫧 I thought it took on a Unsightly Unappetizing Look of Curdled Tofu but if I were to be Very Honest, it looked like something that someone puked out. 🤮😅

Upon giving it my 1st Taste, this was Nothing that I've Ever Tasted before. 😳  Like I mentioned, although its called a 豆漿, the Consistency is More Like Soft Tofu. 🤔 Actually come to think of it, it tastes More like a Japanese Chawanmushi. 🤔 Taste is Salty and Savoury but also Not Overly Salty. Within it, there are Some Haebee, 🦐 冬菜, 🥬 and Bits of what looks like Softened 油條 Dough Pieces. 🥖

Really Complex Taste and Texture, you get abit of Veggie Crunch from the 冬菜, 🥬 some Seafoodiness from the Haebee. 🦐 This tastes like a Mix of Veggie 🥬 and Seafood Broth. 🦐 The Tofu Taste acts like a Canvas for the Ingredients to perform and never attempts to Overwhelm it with its "Tofu-ness". Delicious. 😋

Dipping that Insane Crispy Airy 油條 🥖 into it gives everything an Extra Crunch bringing these 2 Dishes to a Whole New Level. ♥️ And it seems like the 2 Japanese Ladies sitting next to me also didn't realize they could Dip 油條 like this and followed my Style of Eating. 😅 Soon after, everyone else in the Eatery started dipping their 油條 into theirs too. 😅  Hahaha! Have I somehow taught the Tourists here how to eat this even though its my First time here?? 😅

🍚 飯糰 Rice Roll = TWD40

飯糰 is Exactly what its Name Suggests, it is literally just a Rice Roll. 🍚 This is a Very Common Taiwanese Food that you can see sold in some Roadside Carts.
The One here is a Layer of Gultinous Rice 糯米 🍚 wrapping a 油條. 🥖

Within this are also Some Sweetish Saltish Tasting Mashed Haebee 🦐 with 冬菜. 🥬 This 糯米 has a Nice 油香味 to it and eating this Dish feels like eating a Lor Mai Kai with the Savoury Salty Sweetness from the Fillings. 😋 There are No Meat in this but for some reason I thought I was eating something Meat-Like. 😋

Culinarily, I thought it was clever of them to re-use ingredients such as Haebee 🦐  and 冬菜 🥬 that they used in their 咸豆漿 🥛 to be re-incorporated in this 飯糰 🍚  which also totally worked well. 👍

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of TWD20 (S$0.85) for a Full Large 油條 Dough Fritter, 🥖 this was Absolutely Worth the Money. 👍 It may be the Crispiest, Most Airy Version I've ever eaten. ♥️ OMG so Good! 😋

I could have polished off 5 of these easily and I'm not even kidding. 😅 They are an Absolute Must-Try if you're here! ♥️

At the Price of TWD35 (S$1.50) for the 咸豆漿 Salty Soybean Milk, 🥛 the Appearance may look Un-Appealing but this was still a Very Affordable Price to enjoy such a Unique and Complex Dish. 👍 Don't Order this expecting this to taste like a Typical 豆漿 Soybean Milk. 😅

Really, this tastes more like a Bowl of Japanese Styled Chawanmushi. 🤔 Unique and Delicious, they pair perfectly with the Lovely 油條 Dough Fritter. 😋

At the Price of TWD40 (S$1.70) for the 飯糰 Rice Roll 🍚 is still an Affordable Price for what it is, but I feel is not really as worth the money 🤔 because if you think about it, other than the Glutinous Rice Wrap, its basically re-using the Same Ingredients but charging at a Slightly Higher Price. 😅

Having said that, this is a Unique Taiwanese Dish that we don't see often in Singapore and Malaysia. 🤔  Eating this is like eating a Thick Stick of Lor Mai Kai. This is Very Filling. 👍

As I mentioned, Eateries like this are Common in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and are Very Popular 早餐店 for many Local Taiwanese. I personally liked this place very much and the Prices are Affordable. 👍 Foods are Tasty, 😋 and the Staffs are Polite and Friendly although they hardly smile much. 😅 This is not because they're Purposely Rude but they are Really Very Busy. 🤔

If you are looking for an Authentic Taiwanese Breakfast and are near the Area, I can recommend this place to give it a try. 👍 Don't Miss Out on their Insanely Crispy and Airy 油條 Dough Fritter! ♥️
