Official Opening Hours (Based on Google Maps): Everyday (5.00pm to 12.00am)

Due to the Sheer Size of Taiwanese Night Markets, it is impossible to take Photos of Every Single Stall there although I have tried my best to take as much as I could. 📷

About this Raohe Street Night Market 饒河街觀光夜市

Other than the Famous Shilin Night Market 士林夜市, Raohe is probably the 2nd Biggest and Most Popular Night Market in Taipei. ❤️
This Night Market is Very Near to the Songshan MRT Station 松山 on the Green Songshan-Xindian Line 松山新店線 🚆 and its a Very Short 200m Straightforward 5 Mins Comfortable Walk to it. 🚶Alternatively, you can just take an Uber to this if you have Mobility Issues. 🚗

The Most Prominent Building you will see right at the Main Entrance of this Night Market is the Very Grand and Majestic Songshan Ciyou Chinese Temple 松山慈祐宮. 🛕

Right at the Main Entrance are also Specific Road Marshallers with a Dedicated Trash Collection Station, 🚮 so if you need to dispose of any Trash, you can bring them to this Station at the Entrance. 👍

This is one of the Rare Night Markets where you can find a Dedicated Trash Collection Station like this, considering Trashcans seems to be Very Rare in Taiwan.

This Night Market have a Very Touristy Vibe. 🎉 I would say roughly 30% Locals 70% Tourists when I was there. It can feel a Tad Crowded even on a Weekday. At 7.00pm is where I feel the Crowd Really Started to Surge. 🤔

The Whole Night Market has a Simple Layout. Just 1 Straight Road with 2 Rows of Food Stalls. 🛣️ Because the Whole Road is blocked off to Traffic, you will not see any Scooters buzzing about. Only Pedestrians will walk along the Road. 🚶

Protip: The Main Crowds will be grouped in the Path nearest to the Food Stalls. If you want to move faster, you can step away from this Path and walk into the Further Side Alleyways that are nearer to the Permanent Side Shops. 👍 You can take a look at this Below Video I to get an idea of what I'm trying to say.

This is a Very Large Night Market and 95% of the Stalls are Focused on Food Stalls. 😋 They are a Mix of Traditional Taiwanese Foods with Some Trendy Foods catered more for Tourists or Young People.

Some Food Stalls especially the Famous Michelin Awarded Ones, take up a Uniquely Large Booth Space with their own Dedicated Area for Dining-In Customers.
🤔 Needless to say, these are the ones with the Longest Queues. 😅 There are No Other Dining-In Areas other than these.

Booth Owners are Friendly and Polite, No Rowdy Behaviour.
👍 Overall feels Safe although of course, do take the usual precautions for your belongings especially when it starts getting Crowded.

I didn't particularly go check the Food Prices from the Food Stalls obviously, but I reckon they should be agar agar around Regular Prices you'd find elsewhere in Taiwan with a Mark-Up.

As I looked around, there doesn't seem to be any Restroom Facilities available so do take note if you are bringing Children along. 🚻 The Closest Restroom is probably inside the Songshan MRT Station 松山 itself. 🚆🤔

原住民山猪肉香肠

山猪肉香肠 Wild Boar Sausage = TWD40 for 1 Stick

Wild Boar Sausage 🐗 is a Taiwanese Snack that you can commonly find in Every Night Market and this was just a Random One that I thought I'd visit to showcase.

Small Trivia: The Chinese Name of this Stall 原住民山猪肉香肠 directly translates as "Aboriginal Wild Boar Sausage". 🤔 Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples are referred to as 原住民. This Word Directly Translates to "The Original Inhabitants". They are Austronesian Folks and Wild Boar is considered as One of their Signature Delicacies. 🐗

Run by a Very Friendly 大哥 with a Very Welcoming Demeanor and a Bright and Beautiful Smile, 😄 he was So Happy Posing for the Camera when I took Photos of his Stall. 📷 Really Friendly Chap with a Good Cheer! ❤️

I especially appreciated when he treated me to some Free Garlic Pieces 🧄 as he says this is an Old-School Way of Eating Wild Boar Sausage Skewer like this. 😋 I have eaten this Wild Boar Sausage before back in 2019, but this is the First Time I had a Vendor teach me to eat like this. ❤️

Taste of the Wild Boar Sausage (With and Without Raw Garlic)

Boiling Hot right off the Barbeque Grill, 🔥 this had a Tight Crispy Skin similar to a German Sausage that will Piak Open when you bite into it. 🌭 The Meat has a Noticeably Earthy Sweet Marinade and the Texture is like a Softer Version of Chinese Lup Cheong. 😋 Very Meaty Tasting and Slightly Salty, this tastes like a Very Oily Lup Cheong. You don't actually get to taste the Original Wild Boar Meat as it is heavily Marinated with that Sweet Sauce.

If you eat it with Raw Garlic like this, you will of course get a Sharp Spicy Painful Pain of Garlic. 🧄 Eating the Sausage like this feels abit like eating some Japanese Wasabi and getting a Hit of Spicy Pain that Bites your Tongue. 😝

Obviously its meant to lower the Jelakness of the Wild Boar Meat which it worked to a Certain Extent. 👍 I personally thought the Meat wasn't that Jelak to begin with actually. 😅 It was more interesting to taste a Combination of Wasabi-Like Spiciness with a Meat Sausage Skewer like this.

At the Price of TWD40 (S$1.70) for a Stick of Thick, Juicy and Meaty Wild Boar Sausage like this was Affordable and Worth the Price. 👍 It didn't taste like they put any Extra Fillers as the Whole Thing was 100% Pure Meat. 🍖 Hey its still worth it to try for something that we will never ever get the Chance to eat in Singapore anyway, so why not?

Having said that, it tastes just like a Softer Version of Chinese Lup Cheong with a Tight German Sausage Outer Skin sort of Texture. 🤔 Because its heavily marinated with the Sweet Sauce, you won't get to taste the Original Taste of the Meat. 🐗🤔 Still Delicious though. 😋

What I appreciated was how Friendly and Welcoming this 大哥 was 😄 and how Generous he was in showing me an Old-School way to eat this that I've never experienced before in other Food Stalls in the Past. ❤️

Wild Boar Sausage is a Common Night Market Street Food and you don't have to specifically come here to try, but if you're ever here in Raohe Street Night Market, why not swing by and support this Friendly 大哥? 😄 Tell him I said Hi! (Although he probably won't remember me also lah) 😅
