The Name of this Eatery is Adorable. 😄 The Chinese Name "艾搗蛋" sounds like "愛搗蛋" which itself is a Phrase that translates to "Love to Make Trouble". 😅

Except they change the Word 愛 to 艾 perhaps because the Owner's Surname is 艾? Taiwanese Eateries just love to use such Adorable Wordplays with their Shop Names. ♥️

This was a Very Small Random Corner Breakfast Shop. 🤔 Taipei has alot of such Eateries everywhere that they call "早餐店". 🌞

The Shop itself is run by what looks like a Middle Aged Couple. 👨👩 Like almost all Eateries in Taiwan, they are also Very Friendly and Welcoming. 😄 Really Small Place with only 2 Very Small Dining Tables, Most Customers I see buy these for Dabao Takeaways 🛍️ or Order thru Food Delivery Services. 🛵

I had a Very Random Local Taiwanese Lady who reached out to me without me asking and gave me her Recommendations for this Place. ♥️ Truly Appreciate how Friendly and Welcoming Taiwanese Folks are. 😄

Here she is probably rushing for Work, and yet she still had time to give her Recommendation to a Random Tourist.

Amazing Taiwanese Hospitality.
♥️

🥤 咖啡红茶 = TWD15

Ordered this because I wanted a Coffee for a Pick Me Up Early in the Morning ☕ and I thought the Name sounded Interesting as it suggests this Beverage is a Mix of Coffee and Tea. 🤔

Unfortunately, this was a Sweet Beverage and I don't taste any Coffee at all in this. 😅 This really tasted more like a Sweet 红茶. Although Sweet, it is Not Overly Sweet although I would advise not to order this if you are watching your Sugar Level. 🤔

🥬🍳 高丽菜蛋饼 = TWD60

蛋饼 is a Very Classic Taiwanese Dish that I've made before. 🍳 Its basically an Egg Omelette mixed with a Dough Batter rolled up like a Popiah. This is usually eaten as a Breakfast 🌞 but can also be eaten as a Dessert or Snack. Imagine a Thin Egg Prata/Crepe that can be eaten Plain or Wrapped with Fillings. 😋

There is 1 Classic Sauce called 酱油膏 that Taiwanese use for 蛋饼, 🍯 but this Shop doesn't use it. I guess its not really a Common Condiment for all 蛋饼? 🤔

🥬 高丽菜 or "Ko Leh Cai" in Hokkien is the One I was recommended. This is of course Chinese Cabbage and during my Taiwan Trip, I noticed that this Particular Vegetable is Extremely Popular in Taiwan and is like the De-Facto Most Default Veggie that can be found in Many Taiwanese Dishes. 🥬

The 蛋饼 🍳 itself is served in a Disposable Paper Tray and is served in 5 Large Bite-SIzed Rolled Pieces. Outer Apperance has a Similar Brownish Caramelized Pan-Fried Look as how you would see on a Prata. 😋
Biting into it gives a Delightful Crackly Crispy Crunch on the Outer Skin, 😋 followed immediately with a Softer Mix of Dough Batter and Egg Omelette. 🍳

And Because the Version I ordered had Ko Leh Chai Cabbage, 🥬 there is also a Delightful Layer of Sweetish Veggie Crunch at the End. The Whole Thing has a Light Savoury, Not too Salty, Not too Sweet taste Profile that was Very Tasty. 😋
Eating this, you will immediately know why this is usually eaten as a Breakfast 🌞 because it is Not Too Heavy nor Too Light and Fills your Stomach Nicely without Stressing it Too Much in the Morning. 👍 It is also Nutritious because of the Protein from the Egg 🍳 and the Fiber from the Ko Le Chai Cabbage 🥬  together with the Carbs from the Dough Batter itself. This was a Mini Little Nutritional Food all wrapped in a Neat Little Package. Delicious. 👍

The Lady Boss also added abit of Small Chilli Condiment at the Side 🌶️ and it tasted Slightly Sweet Spicy. 🌶️

The Spiciness is Slightly Elevated and lingers abit but Never Bites Hard. If you like abit of Spicy Kick to your 蛋饼 I can recommend to add some. 🌶️ Personally, I feel this already Taste Good Enough without that Sauce. 😋

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At TWD15 (S$0.70) for this 咖啡红茶 was actually an Affordable Price for this, but it was not what I expected. 🤔 I thought it worked better as a 红茶 than a 咖啡 as I did not taste any trace of Coffee at all in this. ☕🤔

Because it tasted Sweet, I could only take a Few Sips before I left it alone as I didn't want it to Spike my Blood Sugar. 🙅‍♂️ Not the Drink that I expected or want, but if you are Ok with a Sweet Tasting 红茶, you will likely have no issues with this. 🤔

It really is Affordable for what it is as I seriously doubt that we will find a Similar Quality Drink like this at this Price Point of only S$0.70 in Singapore. 😅

At TWD60 (S$2.50) for this 高丽菜蛋饼, its not Particularly Cheap, but I felt was Afforrdable for what it is. 👍 It was Tasty and Filled my Tummy Nicely as a Light Breakfast without over-stressing my Stomach too much. 😋

The Nice Lady who recommended me the Ko Le Chai Version was right. 👍 The Cabbage gave the Dish a Nice Soft Veggie Crunch Component 🥬 while Simultaneously providing some Good Nutrition and Veggie Sweetness. This was Delicious. 😋

Breakfast Shops or 早餐店 🌞 sellling 蛋饼 or 红茶 are Very Commonly Found Everywhere in Taiwan 🇹🇼 and you don't have to specifically come to this one. Bit if you are nearby the Area, sure why not. 👍

The Owners are Friendly and Polite and as I quietly observed them working hard, 🤔 for some reason it just gave me a Very Heart-Warming Feeling ♥️ of a Small Family type of Cute Cute Shop 爱心早餐店 serving the Community like them. 🌞

You don't have to come here to eat as 蛋饼 can be found everywhere in Taiwan. But if you are in the Nearby Area, why not drop by and show them your Support? ♥️
