Nanjichang Night Market 南機場夜市

Address: Lane 307, Section 2, Zhonghua Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan 100
Google Map Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rKmkCFSBPLgoBGp28
Official Opening Hours (Based on Google Maps): Everyday (5.00pm to 12.00am)

Due to the Sheer Size of Taiwanese Night Markets, it is impossible to take Photos of Every Single Stall there although I have tried my best to take as much as I could. 📷

About this Nanjichang Night Market 南機場夜市

This Night Market is Quite Out of the Way and is Not Conveniently Near to any Subway Stations. 🚆 The Nearest Subway Station would probably be the Longshan Temple Subway Station 龍山寺 on the Blue Bannan MRT Line 板南線 and its a Roughly 1.1km, 20mins Comfortable Walk to it. 🚶Alternatively, you can just take an Uber to this if you have Mobility Issues. 🚗

The Name Nanjichang 南機場 actually means "Southern Airport". The Area where this Night Market stands used to be a Military Airport during the Japanese Colonial Era (1895 - 1945) hence the name. The Night Market itself was first established on February 3, 1986. (Source: Taiwan Travel Blog)

When I was here at 4.46pm on a Monday, not all Food Stalls were Open. I reckon the Best Timing to come here would be 6.00pm onwards. 🤔 Among all the Night Markets I've visited in Taipei, this one feels like the Least Touristy with the Most Locals. 👍 I would say roughly 95% Locals 5% Tourists when I was there.

There are Alot of Scooters buzzing about the Same Road that Pedestrians walk on,
🛵 so don't be surprised if you see one of them just graze past Mere Inches from you. Do be careful especially if you bring Children to this place. 👦👧

Restroom Facilities is Available at one of the Side Building🚻 It is Free of Charge to use.

Booth Owners are Friendly and Polite, No Rowdy Behaviour. 👍 Overall feels Safe although of course, do take the usual precautions for your belongings especially when it starts getting Crowded.

Most Food Prices range from TWD40 (S$1.70) and Up, although there are some that may be Cheaper. Feels like Close to Regular Taiwan Food Prices with maybe a Slight Markup. 💵

A Few Food Stalls have Dine-In Facilities with Tables and Chairs. 🍽️
The Vibe gives me a Very Familiar Feeling like an Open Air Hong Kong Styled 大排档.

I feel t
he Food Stalls here focus on More Traditional Authentic Taiwanese Foods and 小吃 and there weren't much Young and Trendy Hip Foods. Really also a Very Hawker Centre Vibe too. 😋
