Mentioned by Amelia back in my Former FB Group, this Cafe is actually located in the same Golf Resort where ้‡‘้–ฃๆจ“ Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant is located just a Short Walk Away. Hahaha I treat this as a Dessert Place actually after Hop Sing.

The Cafe itself is an Impressive Standalone Bungalow Looking Building all by itself. Really Large Place, I reckon the Rental must be Astronomical. Nicely Airconditioned with a Pinkish sort of Colour Scheme, It was decorated with CNY Furnishings and Music during the CNY Season when I visited.

The Staffs were Polite with a Professional Poise and Mannerisms giving the Whole Place a Atas Look and Feel Overall. That said, even on a Saturday Weekend when I visited, I thought the place wasn't Crowded. Not Exactly ๅ†ทๆธ…ๆธ… though as there were a Few Customers.

I liked that a Cup of Plain Water is offered for Free as soon as I was Seated which is quite a Rare thing to have in JB. Anyway it took 2 Mins for the Cheesecake and 4 Mins for the Tea. Everything was up within 4 Mins.

Digestive Flower Tea (Cup) = RM12.90

When this was served up, I was delighted to know that apparently I can request for Hot Water Refills even though I just ordered a Cup, not a Pot. I appreciate this.

Served in a Beautiful Atas Looking Cup as you can see, I am disappointed that the Tea itself is in a Standard Teabag, not some Flowers or something. They even left the Brand of the Teabag on which is supplied from Yellowsun "้ป„ๅคช้˜ณ". It also came with a Small Tea Cookie.

Quality of the Tea Cookie.

Perhaps because it was the CNY Season, this is actually a CNY Cookie which I thought was both Adorable and fit the Theme very well. It breaks at the Slightest Bite. Not too sweet, this thing tastes exactly how you would think its taste. Nothing Particularly Special, it is Acceptable for what it is.

Quality of the Tea

The Tea itself is Yellowish in Colour not unlike a Chrysanthemum Tea. and despite coming from a Teabag, I could see a Real Chrysanthemum inside. The Tea itself basically taste like a Zero Sugar Chrysanthemum Tea with a Earthy Woody Presence of some other Herbs I can't identify. Decent and Acceptable.

What I am impressed is that without me even needing to remind them, the Staffs automatically go around each table to help Top Up my Tea Cup with More Hot Water. Very Nice Service Level indeed.

Jimylicious Classic Cheesecake = RM20.90

Ordered this of course as it is Literally their Signature ๆ‹›็‰Œ่œ. I'll be honest though, for a Main Signature Cake that is also literally the Name on their Signboard, the Presentation looked kindda Underwhelming compared to their Menu Picture which looked like it had a Dollop of Cream and what looks like a Cookie? on the Side.

Did they forgot the Dollop of Cream and Cookie? Or is it "Menu Picture is for Illustrative Purposes Only"? Or is this simply Cost Cutting Measures? Honestly I don't know. For a Signature Cake, I wish they at least dressed this up nicer.

If Cost is a factor, even transferring that Tea Cookie from their Tea to add to this would make it at least look visually more appealing than how its being presented plainly like this. Heck or just add a Fake Flower or something.

Basically a No-Bake Cheesecake that seems to be made up of 3 Layers. Top Layer tastes like a Vanilla Cream and I especially noticed the Noticeable Aroma of Vanilla as it was served. There are even Specks of Vanilla which tells me they actually used Real Vanilla Seed instead of just a Typical Bottled Vanilla Liquid Essence. Not Bad.

When I tasted the Actual Cream, its not just a Simple Plain Whipped Cream at all. I want to say Lemon, but it tastes slightly More Complex than that which I'm afraid I don't know how to describe it further except to say there is Decent Quality in this. The Middle Layer isn't just a Standard Cream Cheese as you'd expect. It also has a Mix of Cheddar Cheese Mixed in as well? Not like a Typical Bakery Level of Cheesecake, there is a Unique Mix here. Still Mostly Cream Cheese, but Slightly More Atas Tasting.

The Final Bottom Base Layer is a Crushed Lotus Biscoff mixed with Butter. Actually I also cannot confirm if its really Lotus Biscoff Brand but its definitely a Classic Crushed Digestive Biscuit + Butter Mix Base for sure. Nothing Particularly Special about this.

Eating the Whole Cake together, the Main Body Cream Cheese of course forms the Main Flavour Profile. But I thought the Soul of this Cake is that Top Layer which delivered a Decent Sourish Kick that quickly reigns in any Jelakness you may feel when eating a Cream Cheesecake like this, giving it a Almost Fruity Freshness. The Digestive Biscuit Bottom Base then comes in to add "Body" to the taste if it makes sense. This is a Plain Looking but Well Designed Cheesecake.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM12.90 (S$4.20) for the Cup of Flower Tea is obviously Not Cheap and I was disappointed that its brewed from a Teabag that they didn't even bother to cut off the Label from which made this look kindda cheap.

Doing further checks on this "Yellowsun" Brand, it seems like some China Brand from Anhui.

That said, I thought the Actual Tea itself was Decent Tasting like a Earthy Chrysanthemum with Extra Steps. I also appreciate the fact that the Staffs automatically topped up Hot Water for me without me even needing to ask.

At the Price of RM20.90 (S$6.80) is also Not Cheap for a No-Bake Cheesecake. For a Cake listed as a Signature, visually it looks Underwhelming for me and completely don't look anything like its shown on their Menu.

The Cheesecake itself though definitely is made with Effort especially when they use Real Vanilla Bean instead of just a Standard Bottled Vanilla Essence. The Soul of the Cake is that Top Layer Cream which delivered a Nice Citrusy Flavour that I couldn't tell if its Lemon or other Fruit.

But it worked really well in reigning in any Potential Jelakness you may have when eating a Cheesecake like this. Whoever designed this Cake understands Cheesecake very well.

Honestly I'm torn at whether to give this place an Average or Recommended. On one hand, I don't feel it is worth to specifically come all the way to JB just for it, and because of the Higher Price, I would not re-visit. Not impressed with a Tea-Bag Level of Tea and a Visually Unimpressive Cheesecake.

On the Other Hand, I appreciate the Decent Customer Service and Effort in the Automatic Unlimited Topping Up of the Tea and the Actual Effort I'm seeing in the Actual Cake itself.

Don't let my Average Score deter you from this Place. I find this Cafe actually very suitable as a Dessert Stop to chill after enjoying ้‡‘้–ฃๆจ“ Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant Affordable RM10.00 Teochew Porridge Meal since its just a Short Walk Away. If you are ok with the Prices on the Menu, I can still recommend to give this place a try.

What I am concerned is the Relatively Lack of Customers even on a Saturday Weekend when I visited, so I'm also not sure how long can they sustain given that they are housed in such a Big Place in such an Exclusive Golf Resort which I'm sure the Rentals are going to be Absolutely Astronomical beyond Belief.

  1. Hi Ryan, this Jimmylicious main cafe at Jalan Tebrau ( near Sentosa) already closed down. Maybe parking problem cos the row of bungalow houses their parking space very limited. Anyway I tried once only, expensive and not the kind die die must eat type. This outlet at Ponderosa wander how long they can last, one thing it's abit out of the way. The RM10 teo chew porridge so cheap also no crowd, I think many not aware it's open to the public.

  2. Ya lah, the cheesecake serve "so naked" hahahaha.... not same as in picture. Wander they cut cost or the kitchen staff forget to dress up the cheesecake. Plate and cup look so nice but no deco look like plain white plate. Alot of cafes people go in to ๆ‰“ๅก and take pictures post in sicial media.
