This was a Modern Kopitiam Eatery that I visited before back in 2023. Back then, I was pretty enamoured with their Signature Kopiloco Drink because it was so intensely Gao Gao. I've lost my Past Review along with my Former FB Group so I thought I might as well do a Re-Review again.

Compared to Roast & Coffee that I reviewed previously, this Place has a Much More Open Concept, not so Enclosed. Despite the More Open Concept, the Aircon in here actually felt Colder too. The Staffs were Friendly with a Genki Welcome Greeting as soon as I stepped in. The Place adopts a Greenish Theme Renovation overall.

Even on a Weekday the Number of Customers here were at a Healthy Level. Anyway it took 2 Mins for their Signature Kopiloco and 4 Mins for the Sambal Egg. Everything was served up within 4 Mins.

B1 Signature Kopiloco (Less Sugar) = RM4.20

This is basically a Classic Ice-Kopi with Extra Steps. Choosing Less Sugar was still Very Sweet for me. Compared to the last time I had this back in 2023, I felt the Amount of Coffee Powder was Noticeably Reduced. Last time, the Coffee Powder was so Gao Gao, it felt like a Smack in the Face.

The Amount given now is still alot compared to other Eateries and will certainly wake you up, but really noticeably less Gao Gao already. Maybe they're trying to cut cost? Not as Impressive as back when I first tried this. No longer as "Loco" as before.

TWB8 Sambal Egg = RM5.90

Compared to Roast n Coffee, the Amount of Sambal feels alot More Generous. No Onion Pieces within, but there is a Much More Savoury Meatier Presence of Haebee Texture and also Overall Slightly Spicier. Not Sweet, Not Sourish, this is a Solid Robust Sambal Quality.

The Bun is quite Unique for this which is a Thick Muffin Burger? Soft and Fluffy enough. The Egg is 100% Cooked thru like McD Style. I liked they used Cucumber which is the Traditional Veggie used in a Classic Sambal Egg.

This definitely has a More Satisfying Fuller Bite. Unlike Roast n Coffee where the Egg was More Prominent. In here the Sambal plays a More Prominent Role that shoots through immediately with the Flavour of the Egg coming in later as a Texture Enhancement.

Personally I very much prefer this Sambal Egg. Especially because they used a Muffin Bun, this makes the Whole Thing taste like a Bigger McD McMuffin with a Solid Sambal Kick is how I would describe this.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM4.20 (S$1.40) is an Affordable Price for their Signature Gao Gao Kopiloco. Its basically a Classic Ice-Kopi with a More Gao Gao Coffee Powder Flavour. If you are looking for a Sinful Tasting Ice Kopi, I reckon most people will probably have no issues with this one.

Personally for me though, the Amount of Coffee Powder is no longer as Gao Gao as when I first tried it back in 2023. Not sure if its because they have since reduced it to cut cost. Not as "Loco" as I described them in my Past Review.

At the Price of RM5.90 (S$1.90) is a Decent Price for this Sambal Egg. Compared to the one I had in Roast n Coffee, which emphasized more on the Egg, I felt this one emphasized more on their Sambal. And I prefer the Sambal here because of its More Prominent Haebee Flavour which I liked more.

I also appreciate they used a Unique Muffin Bun which is not usually seen in Modern Kopitiam Eateries like this making it rather Unique. The Whole Thing as I described, tastes like a Bigger McMuffin with a Sambal Kick. Not Super Amazing, but I enjoyed this.

Overall I have no issues with this place. In terms of Vibe, this place felt More Open Concept compared to the Enclosed Feel of Roast & Coffee next door. It was interesting that even with a Open-Concept, the Aircon here felt Colder too.

Although their Signature Kopiloco seems to have reduced their Coffee Powder and no longer excited me as before, I can still recommend this place if you're ok with the Prices on their Menu and looking for a Modern Kopitiam Place to chill and relax here in Jalan Tan Hiok Nee. I enjoyed my time here and don't mind come back in the Future (or their Other Branches) to check out their Other Items
