Hahaha during my Exploration of JB, I was already Super Amused to find a 八戒肉骨茶 Ba Jie Bak Kut Teh near KSL City Mall the other time, 😅 and now to find this 唐僧肉骨茶 was beyond Hillarious! 😅 LOL I wonder if I will ever find a 悟空肉骨茶 or 沙僧肉骨茶? maybe even a 白龙马肉骨茶 in the Future? 😅
The name of this Eatery of course refers to the Classic Chinese Novel Journey to the West 西游记 featuring arguably one of the Most Important Protagonist in the Novel: Monk Tripitaka 唐三藏. I was already amused by a BKT 肉骨茶 that featured Pigsy 猪八戒, 😅 and to see this place is even More Amusing because in the Novel, Tripitaka is always being chased by Demons who are always trying to eat him. 😅 I guess we have the chance to do that now! LOL! 😅
Interior of the Eatery
The Place itself is a Relatively Large Eatery with both an Indoor (Air-Conditioned) Section and a Outdoor Seating Area. Air-Con wasn't Cold when I visited but it was still a Relief from the Scorching Hot Sun. 🌞 There weren't much Customers though at 5.00pm on a Saturday when I visited. The Eatery looks like its been around for a Couple of Years at least. 🤔 Cleanly Maintained, the Decor of the Place itself is pretty Spartan actually, Plain and Simple.

The Most Unique Feature in this place is a Wall Art Mural that you can see here. 🖼️ For Non-Mandarin Speakers, its basically spinning a Fictional Tale of how this Eatery was Founded but the way its told is both Super Hillarious and even rather Naughty. 😅 This was Adorably Creative!

The Staffs are Polite and Friendly and I'm surprised that there are No Attempts in Upselling of Extra DLC Ingredients as is Usually the Case for BKT Eateries in JB. 👍 Longtime Readers of this Blog will know that I never add any sort of Chapalang Ingredients for a BKT 🙅♂️ because I prefer to review a BKT at its most Basic Default to see if its worth the Money. If the Basic Default Soup itself cannot make it, adding anything extra is not going to improve anything. 😅
I liked that the Myanmmar Lady whom I ordered from could speak Chinese and I was quite impressed that when I requested for an Additional Small Plate, she even took the Effort to wipe clean for me before handing it to me. 🍽️👍 This was a Small Simple Gesture but I do appreciate the Effort done. 👍 It took about 4 Mins for the Dish to be served up.
The Chilli they have here is a Simple Common Mix of 🌶️ Red + Green Chilli, Minced Garlic and a Typical Black Sauce that you'd normally expect from a BKT Eatery. 🍯
Nothing particularly special about their Sauces or Condiments here. 🤔
🐷🍲 Claypot BKT (Original, 1 Pax, No Rice) = RM19.00
The Amount of Soup given in this Set is roughly about 1 Small Bowl Worth. 🥣
Of course as with any BKT, I dissected the Dish to check its Contents. 🤔

The Dish Consists of:
🐷 1 Pork Rib cut into 2 pieces
🐷 2 Thinner Cuts of Braised Pork Belly
🐷 4 Thicker Cuts of Braised Pork Belly
🟧 1 Square Taupok cut into 2
🟧 3 Sheets of Beancurd Skin
🍄 1 Button Mushroom Sliced
🥬 2 Lettuce Leaf

🍲 Quality of the BKT Soup
The Soup here is definitely Not Klang-Style, but is Braised Herbal. 🤔 Its More Braised than Herbal actually, I would say roughly 95% Braised, 5% Herbal? 🤔 The Herbal is quite Faint in the Background. No Idea what Herb is used, but it has a Sweetish Note. I'm guessing probably 甘草? 🌿🤔
The Main Braised Flavour is Not Bad Tasting. Salty but Not Overly So and Decently Drinkable although it was a Tad Oily. 🤔 I do liked the Braised Pork type of Lor Zhup taste it has. 😋 Overall Not Amazing but Decent.

🐷 Quality of the Pork Rib
Not Amazing, not those Slide off the Bone type of Tender but it was Alright. 🤔 Meaty Porky but not overly Porky. 🐷 Decent and Acceptable though also nothing really special.

🐷 Quality of the Braised Pork Belly
The 2 Thin Cuts were quite Fatty, around 60% Fat, 40% Meat. 🐷😋 Very Standard Braised Pork Belly Taste, Fat is not Firm, Soft, but also Not Melt in Mouth type. I do like that it does help give a Creamier Taste to the Cut due to the Fats. 👍
The 4 Thicker Cuts were More Meaty in Comparison. 🍖 About 20% Fat, 80% Meat. 🐷 Tender and Chewy, Again Not Amazing but Acceptably Decent in Taste.

The Rest of the Ingredients were Very Standard Tasting like how you'd expect from a Regular BKT. 🤔 Acceptable, but also nothing particularly outstanding. I wished they added a Braised Egg into the Mix though for a Better Value. 🥚🤔

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At the Price of RM19.00 (S$5.80) isn't Particulary Cheap or Very Affordable for this 1 Pax Set. 🤔 This was Overall more of a Braised type of BKT rather than Herbal. 🤔
Overall Quality is Nowhere close to Mind-Blowingly Amazing but it was Acceptable. I don't feel its specifically worth the Time and Effort to come to JB just to eat this. 😅 What I do appreciate is that they did not attempt to do any Up-Selling of DLCs only to give 死人脸 like how BKT Eateries usually do. 😅

The Actual Main Appeal for me though is the Name and Theme of this Eatery, especially its Adorable (and Naughty) Wall Mural. 🖼️😅 I thought it was Pretty Creative. 👍 Hahaha now that I've eaten a 八戒肉骨茶 and now 唐僧肉骨茶, I wonder if I will ever find a 悟空肉骨茶 or 沙僧肉骨茶? or maybe even a 白龙马肉骨茶 in the Future? 😅
