This Place came up frequently on my Social Feeds Video Reels as I was doing my research on places to eat in Nusa Bestari. 🤔 Apparently it is quite famous among Locals for their Chicken Rice. 🐔 Its a Large Non-Airconditioned Kopitiam type of Eatery. There weren't any Dine-In customers when I was there at 9.00am on a Saturday although I do notice that there are alot of Takeaway Orders. 🛍️

Very Sian Sian, somewhat Unwelcoming Vibe from the Chinese Owners of this place. 🤔

Most of the Staffs are Myanmmar Folks who are actually Pretty Friendly, Polite and even Smiled at Me. 😄 Interestingly, it was the 2 Local Malaysian Chinese Owners whom I thought have this Sian Sian Look. 😅

I dunno if they were especially busy or what, but the Vibe that day did not feel Welcoming even though I was the Only Dine-In Customer. 🤔 Not a Single Smile from either of the Chinese Owners I even had to self-service grab a Menu. 🤔 Not a Good 1st Customer Impression. Their Myanmmar Staffs are actually much more Friendly and Approachable. 🤔

This was Very Surprising because in the Video Promo Reels about this place, the Owners seems Very Genki and Friendly, yet the Actual Place felt like I'm attending a Funeral Palour. ⚰️😅 For a Dedicated Chicken Rice Eatery, I'm also disappointed to see they don't even bother to provide the Standard Minced Ginger 🫚 and Dark Soy Sauce you'd expect from a Chicken Rice Eatery like this by Default and I had to ask them for it which again elicit a Sian Sian type of Response from them. 🤔 This Place has a Very Downer Vibe for me. 🫤 Anyway it took 5 Mins for everything to be served up.

Quality of the Condiments

🫚 Minced Ginger
This has a somewhat Brownish Look that is infused with Alot of Oil. It has a deep 老姜 sort of Earthy Robustness yet also not Overly Gingery, Tasted Slight Salty. This was a Decent Tasting Minced Ginger Condiment although it is Very Oily. 🤔

🌶️ Chilli
The Chilli they have here has a Slight Sourish Hit with a Gritty Texture. 🌶️ Very Light Tasting Chilli and the Spiciness lingers as a Gentle Heat on the Tongue that doesn't bite. It doesn't have the Type of Classic SG Style Chilli that you'd expect for a Chicken Rice. 🤔 Although Not Amazing, this was Slightly Above Average Quality.

🍲 Quality of the Soup

This came in a Relatively Large Bowl, Clear in Opacity and I was surprised to find a Chicken Feet included. 🤔 Decent Well Boiled Soup with a Presence of Peanuts and Cuttlefish infused within. 🥜🦑 Didn't detect any MSG or if any were used it was probably very little. Pretty Decent Quality tasting Soup. 👍 Chicken Feet was Soft and Tender.

🍚 Quality of the Rice

Amount of Rice is about an Acceptable 1 Bowl. Decent Quality 粒粒分明 and Not the Overly Sticky Texture type. It has the Classic Aroma that you'd expect from a Chicken Rice although not Overly Gao Gao Fragrant. Slightly Salty, not Overly Oily, this wasn't a Very Amazing Quality Chicken Rice. I'd compare this as about On Par with a Typical SG Kopitiam Level of Chicken Rice Stall. 🤔

🐷🐔 Quality of the The Meat Platter

I appreciate that the 摆盘 Presentation of all the Meats were Well-Cut and Decently Well Arranged. 👍
This Meat Platter consists of:
🐷 Siew Yoke = 5 pieces
🐷 Char Siew = 7 pieces 
🐔 Steam Chicken Thigh = 7 pieces
🐔 Roasted Chicken Thigh = 7 pieces

🐷 Quality of the Siew Yoke

Not the type that has a Super Crackling Crispy Skin although it does have a Slight Crunch at least. 🤔 The Cuts given here were More Meaty than Fatty. 🍖 Not Overly Porky in taste, I do notice that this Siew Yoke has a Sweetish Taste Profile. I like its Slight Smokiness. Not Amazing, I would compare these as Slightly Above Average compared to a Regular SG Kopitiam Level. 🤔

🐷 Quality of the Char Siew

Compared to Siew Yoke, their Char Siew were served in Significant Fattier Cuts. Sauce was Sweet but not Overly Sweet. 🍯 Quality definitely cannot compare to KSL City Mall You Kee XO Restaurant Super Melt in Mouth Level. 😅 Again Not Amazing and I feel this is about on par with a SG Kopitiam Level of Char Siew.

🐔 Steamed Chicken (Thigh)

Decently Soft and Smooth Tender, this was an Overweight Chicken although not Super Obese type. 😅 No Fat Globules under the Skin type of Quality. Again Not Amazing, I would say this is about on Par with SG Kopitiam Level.

🐔 Roasted Chicken (Thigh)

Bonier Cuts for this one. 🤔 Meat Texture is about the Same as their Steamed Chicken. Roasted Skin was alright but nothing amazing. Again, about on Par with SG Kopitiam Level.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM6.00 (S$1.90) for the 🐔 Roasted Chicken (Thigh), I would say this was Affordable, but Nothing Particularly Amazing. It was Decent and Tender but was basically on par with a Similar Quality you'd get from a Typical SG Kopitiam level. 🤔

The Combo Meat Platter at RM15.50 (S$4.70) is an Affordable Price for 3 Type of Meats 🐷🐔🍖 together with a Rice 🍚 and Soup. 🍲 But again, although Affordable, this didn't taste Particularly Really Special and is either On Par or just Slightly Above Average to SG Kopitiam Level. 🤔
Overall, I feel this Place is Overall Affordable in Price for the Amount of Food you're getting, but don't expect the Quality here to blow you away. 🤔 All of them are Decent Acceptable in Quality although you do need to keep your Expectations in Check.

What I did not like was the Vibe. The Local Malaysian Chinese Owners here seems to have No Passion for their Own Business. 🤔 Never once have I ever seen a Single Smile from them and even when I went up to pay for the Meal, all I got from them was this Zero Smile Uncomfortable Blank Stare from them like I shouldn't have been here. Wierd. 🫤
Compared to how Genki and Friendly they were on Video Reel Promos of this place, the Actual Place itself felt so Somber. 🪦 Although they were Never Rude or Outright Unfriendly, this place just felt Unwelcoming and my Mood sank lower and lower the longer I was here. 👎 Because of this, unfortunately I'm going to have to give this Place my Lowest Score. 👎 Not a Good 1st Customer Experience. 🫤

I'm very surprised to see that their Myanmar Staffs were so much Friendlier 😅 in comparison and these 2 Malaysian Owners could definitely learn a thing or two about Customer Service from them. 😅 Not a Place that I'm keen to re-visit again. If you do decide to visit this, I hope you have a Better Experience than me. 🤔
