If you are a Regular to JB via the Causeway, you will surely have seen this Eatery just as you exit the Malaysia CIQ Kastam Building and entering into JB Sentral going towards City Square Mall. 🤔 It is located right next to the Ever Popular Rotiboy Shop. Basically a Small Mini 24 Hours Kopitiam.

This is a Fairly Small Eatery with probably less than 10 Tables. The Place is Small, but Relatively Cleanly Kept and Maintained. 👍 The Staffs on duty that day were a Couple of Friendly Young Lads who are Conversant in English, and an Elderly Man doing Cleaning.

Completely Demolished in Google Reviews with only 2.5 Stars, Almost Every Reviewer describes this place like its Hell on Earth. 😅🔥 Everything from the Atrocious Service, to the Cut-Throat High Prices, to the Unhygenic Environment. 😳 One Reviewer even Candidly and Amusingly describes the Coffee here as "Longkang Jui" (Sewage Water). 😅

Interestingly as Horrific as the Reviews are, this Eatery is usually quite Crowded with Customers even on Weekday Mornings whenever I passed by. 🤔 It was Crowded as you can see in the Photo at 7.20am on a Thursday Morning. Is it really as Bad as the Reviews claim? Is their Coffee really "Longkang Jui"? 🤔
Read on to find out.

Don't forget to grab your Utensils and any Sauces from the Sauce Station too. 🍽️ It took about 3 Mins for all my Food Items to be served up.

The Condiments available at the Sauce Station

Chilli Chopped
Nothing Special about this. Its basically Slices of Green Chilli Padi soaked in a Soy Sauce 🌶️

Sambal Hailam Mee
This taste not bad. It has a Noticeable Elevated Level of Spiciness mixed with a Sharp Sourish Tangy and Saltiness. There is also a Very Strong Haebee Presence and has a Gritty Texture. 😋 This is a Surprisingly Decent Sambal Chilli for what it is. 👍

Chicken Rice Chilli Sauce
This is exactly what it is. A Very Typical Chilli Sauce for Chicken Rice. 🌶️ Spiciness is considerably Milder compared to their Sambal. There is a Noticeable Saltiness powered by Soy Sauce. Gritty Mouth Texture.

While it isn't Amazing in any way, I thought this was still a Decent Standard Kopitiam Level of Chicken Rice Chilli. 👍

B2 Roasted Coffee-O (Hot, No Sugar) = RM3.90

Definitely not Longkang Zui lah. 😅 While not Strong, there is a Coffee Aroma available. Strength of the Coffee is not those Smack you Awake type but can still give you quite a Buzz.

Obviously not a Top Class High End Kopi-O-Kosong, but neither is this anywhere close to Longkang Zui. 😅 It tastes like a Very Standard Average Kopitiam Foodcourt type of Kopi-O-Kosong. Nothing Exceptional, but also Not Undrinkable.

BS5 Roti Goyang Hailam = RM6.50

This was something I just randomly chose because I've never heard of it before. 🤔
When the Actual Dish is served up, my Eyes open Big Big as I was Completely Stunned! Wow! 😳 Its 2 Slices of Toasted White Bread with not 1 but 2 Soft-Boiled Eggs! 🍳The Breads are Full Sized, not Sliced in Half like in Singapore Giam Siap Cut Cost type. 😅 They are Slathered Generously with Butter and the Bread Texture is Soft with a Noticeable Saltish taste from the Butter. 🍞

The Soft-Boiled Eggs were Cooked Well. 👍 They were Creamy and Thick and it was Strange to see them presented directly on Bread like this instead of our SG Way of being Uncracked and served in a Separate Container. 🤔 I LOVE the way they do this though because this Scored Very High in Presentation. ❤️ Heck even an Auntie who sat next to me also remarked that this Dish looked Very Impressive. 😄

You can either tear off a Piece of Bread and dip them into the Yolk or you can eat it like a Pizza. 🍕 Oh My Goodness! Eating it Pizza-Style with the Creamy Yolk Flowing Hot directly down my Gullet was a Brand New Experience that I have never tried before! 😋 So Good OMG!! ❤️ Remember to add some of that Sambal into the Yolk too! The Additional Hit of Haebee Spiciness enhances this Dish even more. 🌶️

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At RM3.90 (S$1.20) for the Kopi-O-Kosong is a Reasonable Price for this Standard Average Kopitiam Level Quality. ☕ Again, this is nowhere close to Longkang Jui level. Maybe I was lucky and the Staff brewed better that day? 😅

At RM6.50 (S$2.00) for the Roti Goyang is Absolutely Worth the Money for 2 Soft-Boiled Eggs on 2 Bread Toasts! 👍 Soft Boiled Eggs is something that we've all eaten, but to see it presented this way directly on the Toast was a Fresh Experience for me. Damn Shiok to eat it Pizza Style! 😋 Credits to my Friend Loh Lee Nah, so I learnt that apparently "Goyang" means "Shake" in Malay, which is such an Appropriate Name to give to this Dish! 😄 The 2 Eggs were so Jiggly! Shake ah Shake! 🕺
That said though, while I may have had a Pleasant Experience, this is still a Very Basic Standard Eatery, so don't expect this to be some Michelin High Class Atas Place. 😅 Also, I feel alot of factor is based on Luck and Heng Sway. 😅 I was Lucky that the Staffs brewed a Decent Cup of Coffee and made a Nice Solid Roti Goyang for me that day. 👍 With the Amount of Negative Reviews on Google Maps, I'm guessing those giving Bad Reviews probably weren't as Lucky as me. 😅 I hope Luck is with you if you do decide to visit this. Pray hard that you don't tio a "Longkang Zui" Coffee. Hahaha! 😆

As for the Staff Service Level, I thought they were a Couple of Friendly Lads and they were nice to me. 👍 But perhaps this was because I tried my best to speak Malay with them as best as I could. Politeness goes a Long Way. As I did legit enjoyed my meal, I went up to them to give them a Big Thumbs Up especially for their Roti Goyang. 👍 They were understandably suprised but appreciated my gesture.
I had Very Low Expectations before I came to this place, but they really surprised me with how Decent it was. Nice. 👍
