The Name of this Restaurant "Antipodean" is a Colloquial Term for Residents of Australasia, especially Australia and New Zealand. (Source: Wikipedia)

This is the Earliest Eatery to open in Midvalley Mall at 8.00am. 🌞 Actually they were even Open earlier as the Doors were Open and ready to welcome Customers when I was there at 7.54am. 👍 I even caught them doing some sort of Morning Staff Morale Encouragement Booster Exercise Routine too. 🌞 So Cute.

Interior of the Restaurant

The Restaurant itself is a Rather Big Place, Nicely Renovated with a Classy Higher-End Look with a Outdoor Dining Area. 🍽️ There is also a Small Children Playpen available for you to let your Kids play in. 👦👧 The Place itself is not Air-Conditioned and can feel a Tad Warm even on a Morning. 🌞

I liked the Free Bottle of Plain Water on Every Table for you to Self-Service. 💧

I also liked the Little Coffee Cups they use as a Decoration with a Real Flower in them. 🌼 Surprised to find water inside this Cup so this Flower is actually not just a Decoration but they actually grow it. 🌼 

There weren't Much Customers at 8.30am on a Weekday Morning although I observed a Noticeable Number of Foreign Caucasian Clientele. 🤔






The Staffs themselves are Friendly and Welcoming consisting of both Pinoy and Myanmar Folks. The Pinoy Chap seems to be their Supervisor and speaks Decent English. 🗣️ The Myanmar Staffs tried their Best. 👍

When I shifted my Knife and Fork to take Picture of the Food, 🍽️ one of the Staffs walked by and thought I did not have any Utensils and immediately sprang into action to hand me a new one. Very Attentive Customer Service. Very Nice. 👍

Anyway it took 11 Mins for the Coffee ☕ and interestingly 26 Mins! for the Big Breakfast to be served up. 🍽️🤔 Everything was served up in 26 Mins which is an Unusually Long Wait considering it was Early Morning and there were at most only 4 Tables of Customers at that time. 🤔

Served in a Decent Sized Cup, there is a Nice Milk Coffee Aroma wafting from it. ☕😋 The Main Thing that will catch you eye is of course the Delicately Beautifully Done Coffee Art depicting 2 Swans. 🦢 Not the Standard "Palm-Tree" type of Design, the Art for this one was Exquisite! ❤️ To be fair, I have not drank alot of such Coffee Art myself, but to me, this was a Work of Art. 👨‍🎨👩‍🎨 Even after sitting for 15 Mins while I wait for their Big Breakfast to serve up, the Art did not fade away. Very Impressive. 👍

The Coffee itself has a Gentle but still Strong Coffee Strength that will wake you up gently. ☕ Foamy Rich and Creamy this was a Decent Cup. The Coffee Cookie at the side was a Standard Cookie. 🍪 Not Stale, Thin and Crackly, and Slightly Sweet. Not Bad.

Beautifully Presented on a Large Plate, this felt like a Full and Filling Bountiful Dish. 👍 I liked that the Staff will ask if you want any Sauce of which I declined but later regretted because I should have reviewed those huh? 😅


This Dish consists of:

🥗 Side of Leafy Green Salad
🐷 1 Mid-Sized Pork Sausage
🥔 1 Hash-Brown Cube
🍳 Scrambled Eggs
🍄 Mushrooms
🧈 A Knob of Butter

🧈 Butter

Quite a Large Slab is given. Creamy and Non-Salted, this is Legit Butter and Not Margarine. Not Overly Oily. Not Bad Quality. 👍

🍄 Mushrooms

Slightly Salted, these were a Bunch of Button Mushrooms. One thing to note, is that I feel they taste Noticeably Strong in their Raw Mushroomy Taste 🤔 and cooked in a More Ang Mo Styled of Gravy and Technique. 🍲

For people who don't like their Mushrooms too Raw Tasting you might want to take note of it. 🤔 I'm personally ok with this. 👍 They don't taste Slimy and I appreciated this More Natural and Fresh albeit slightly More Raw Taste of these Mushrooms. 🍄

🍳 Scrambled Eggs

Cooked Decently Well, this was Rich and Creamy and I could distinctly taste the Slightly Salted Butter they melted into this. 🧈😋 Slightly Salty and Not Overly So, I thought this Default Salt Level is just right. 🧂

👍 This is a Good Decent Scrambled Eggs that looked like they used at least 2 Eggs in the Making of it.

🥗 Leafy Salad

Not a Big Portion, this is of course the Palette Cleanser of the Dish. 😋 There is some Slightly Sweet Liquid Drizzled on them 🍯 which is used as a Counter to hit off some of the Slight 菜苦味 Veggie Raw Bitterness that will sometimes shoot thru as you munch this. 🥗




🍞 1 Slice of Toast

This looks like its cut from a Loaf. No idea if they bake this Inhouse but it is Decent Tasting. 😋 Nicely Toasted but what I didn't like though was that it was resting on some Scrambled Egg Juice which made the Bottom Soggy. 💦😅 Spreading some Butter on it and eating it was Fine. Other than the Sogginess, this was a Decent Piece of Toast.

🥔 Hashbrown

Definitely not your Standard Frozen McD type of Hashbrown, these were Definitely Handmade. 👍 Uniquely Cubed, they were Beautifully Pan-Seared on the Sides and the Inner Texture has a Almost Mashed Potato type of Softness with a Few Classic Potato Strands that you'd expect from a Hashbrown. 🥔😋 There is some Herb that is used within with Hints of Black Pepper that doesn't try to Overwhelm the Potato Taste. 🌿 Slightly Salty and Not Overly So, I like the Natural Potatoey Taste of this Hashbrown. Nicely done. 👍

🐷 Pork Sausage

You actually have a Couple of Choices of Meat for this and I chose Pork. 🐷 Not sure if they Tubed this Inhouse or from a Supermarket but this Sausage is not "Bite the Outer Skin Bite and it will Piak" type. 🤔 Slightly Softer in Bite Texture and Noticeably Salty with some Herbs incorporated. 🌿

One thing to note is that the Pigginess for this one is a Tad Elevated and can quickly Jelak if you eat alot of this at one go. 🐷😅 If you are ok with the Noticeable Pigginess for a Sausage, you will probably be able to accept this.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM15.00 (S$4.70) is certainly not cheap for this Cup of Coffee☕🤔  especially if you are someone who prefers a More Classic Kopitiam Type of RM2.00 type of Coffee. For a Mall Cafe Level of Coffee however, I find this Very Decent. ☕👍 The Delicate Coffee Art itself is Impressively done and is not just a Standard Typical "Palm-Tree" Design. 🌴 I appreciate the Care, Love and Skill required to do this. ❤️

The Coffee isn't Super Amazing, but it is Decent and Gently Strong Enough to Gently Wake you up to Savour. ☕👍 Needing to wait 11 Mins for this Coffee however can certainly be improved upon especially this was on a Weekday Morning with Not Much Customers. 🤔

At the Price of RM36.00 (S$11.10) for this Plate of Big Breakfast also isn't Cheap but I felt is worth the Money for the Quality and Amount of Food that is provided. 🍽️👍 This is not your Typical Fast Food McD Big Breakfast, 😅 this is a Big Breakfast made with Fresh Ingredients handled with Effort. ❤️

Eating Everything was Decent. Abit of Protein, 🐷 Abit of Carbs, 🥔 Abit of Veggie Fiber 🥗 makes this a Decent Meal. I especially appreciate the Homemade Hashbrown, 🥔 and the Addition of Butter in the Scrambled Eggs. 🧈🍳 There doesn't seem to be any attempts on trying to Scrimp or Cut Corners. Impressive. 👍

Having said that, this is a Tad More 重口味 Level of Dish. 🤔 The Mushrooms have a Slightly More Raw Taste so you may need to take note if this bothers you. 🍄🤔 The Pork Sausage is also Noticeably More Piggy 🐷 although you can choose some other Meat if you don't want Pork. What I didn't like was the Placement of the Toast where it got soaked by the Scrambled Egg Juice making it a Tad Soggy. 🍞💦

The other perhaps Biggest Issue is the 26 Mins it took to get this Dish served up which felt Unacceptably Long 🕓🤔 especially on a Weekday Morning where there are Not Much Customers around. I can't imagine how long it will take if it was a More Busy Weekend Peak Hour? 🤔

I do appreciate that this Long Wait probably means all the Items are Cooked from Scratch and its probably not some Microwaved or Re-Heated Product 👍 but this Long Wait certainly can be improved upon, especially on a Weekday Morning like this. 🤔

Overall, I have no issues with the Restaurant itself and I'm even impressed at the Service Alertness of the Staff who promptly passed me another Utensil when he saw my Table as he walked by. 🤵‍♂️👍 This is Really Very Commendable. Other than the Issues I mentioned, I generally enjoyed myself and had a Decent Dining Experience here. 😋

If you are ok with the Prices on their Menu, can accept the Slightly More 重口味 for some of their Ingredients and can accept a Close to 30Mins Wait for your Food even on a Weekday Morning, 🕓🤔 I can still recommend this place especially since this is the Earliest Eatery to open at Midvalley Mall at 8.00am for a Solid Western-Styled Breakfast in the Morning. 🌞 The Amount of Culinary Effort in this Big Breakfast is Impressive. 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳👍
