JB Trip Preview: Taman Universiti

Hey Everyone,
Apologies for the Late Post! Today's JB Trip brings me to a Brand New Location: Taman Universiti 大学城 🎓

Probably not a Familiar Suburb for Most Singaporeans, 🤔 the University in the Name refers to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) 🎓 and is a 5-minute drive away from Taman Universiti, hence the name of the town. 🏘️ There are 30,000 students 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓 who mostly live on campus but visit the town to shop. 🛍️ Source: Wikipedia and Image Credit

Interestingly, this Neighbourhood houses the First Aeon Mall in Johor (Formerly Jusco) which opened in 2002. 🛍️ This is a Much Smaller Aeon compared to the others though. Its more like a Small Neighbourhood Sort of Mall. 🛍️🤔 Overall another Quiet Peaceful Neighbourhood on a Weekend as I don't see any Singapore Cars around the Area. 🚗

Here are some Highlights of Today's Trip:

Chef Henry Ribs House is an Eatery usually featured whenever talking about Foods in Taman Universiti. 😋 This is also the First Time I'm eating a Very Unique Fried Lamb Ribs. 🔥🐑 Culinarily Unique Dish, I have never tasted Lamb Ribs being Fried like this before. 🐑🤔 Although rather 冷清清 even on a Saturday, this was a Really Cozy Homely Restoran showcasing Real Culinary Skill and Effort in the Dish. 👍 Very Impressive indeed.


Restoran Anjung Desa is a Very Popular Malay Restoran that I stumbled upon when exploring the Neighbourhood. 👍 Even in the Morning it was already Packed! 😳 Great Variety and Affordable Prices, it was a Friendly and Welcoming Dining Experience. ❤️ Definitely worth a Visit if you're here in Taman Universiti.

Special Mention to the Evening Food Street 美食街 located at the Restoran Number One Kopitiam. 😋
Really Popular and Crowded with the Locals as you can see! 😄
