When I was Walking around Exploring Taichung, I spotted this Adorable Little Mobile Motorcycle Food Stall 🛵 right at a Busy Traffic Junction selling Japanese-Styled Confectionary and I knew I just have to give it a Try! 😋 Run by a Sweet, Friendly and Polite 大姐, I thought the Name of this Stall looked Unique and Adorable. 😅

The Chinese Name "那瑪卡西" is actually a Direct Mandarin Translation of the Japanese Word "Namagashi" (生菓子). The Word itself means "Fresh Sweets" in Japanese and is a Type of Traditional Japanese Wagashi. 🇯🇵🍡 which itself is a General Term for Traditional Japanese Sweets and Candies. (Source: Wikipedia)
The Name of this Stall also suggests that it sells 名古屋 Japan Nagoya-Styled Wagashi. 🇯🇵🏯
Each Item costs TWD25 (S$1.10) so I randomly chose 2 of them to try.

🧈 奶油 (Butter Cream)This is a Japanese-Styled Flat Pancake 🥞 similar to a Dorayaki with a Small Block of Custard Cream wrapped within.
What I'm surprised is that it felt Cold to the Touch. ❄️ This was Surprising because it isn't stored in a Fridge yet it felt Cold. 🤔

Its not a Big Pancake and the Dough had a Nice Firmish Soft Type of Bite Texture. 😋 If you have eaten such Japanese-Styled of Pancake before, you'll know what I mean. What is Unique is that it also had a Very Subtle Taste of Powdered Sugar 🍬 which I don't usually taste for this type of Japanese-Styled Pancake. 😋
The Small Block of Custard Cream within is Thick and Firmish and tasted Very Similar to the Filling in an Egg Tart but without the Egginess. 🥚 Just like its namesake 奶油, 🧈 the Presence of Butter is Prominent but Not Too Overpowering. This Pastry is Definitely Sweet, but not Sickeningly Sweet Type. 👍
Imagine Sinking your Teeth into the Soft Slightly Cold Pancake Texture 🥞 followed by a Burst of Sweet Buttery Creaminess 🧈 and you'll get the Idea how this tastes like. 😋 Not a Particularly Sophisticated Pastry, but I like it. Its that Block of Custard Cream that does it for me. 🧈 I have not eaten such Japanese-Styled Pancake with such a Cream and I thought this Combination worked well. This was not bad. 😋
🫘 红豆 (Red Bean Paste)
Roughly the Size of a Standard Taiwanese Styled Pineapple Cake 凤梨酥, 🍍 this uses the Same Pancake Dough as 奶油 🥞 but Wrapped Tightly Around a Thick Block of Red Adzuki Bean Tau Sah. 🫘

Cut into Small Blocks from an Original Big Cake. Although I couldn't see the Whole Thing, I love the Intricate Patterns etched into the Pancake Dough 🥞 that almost looks like a Japanese Tattoo Irezumi. 👍 I would have loved to see the Full Complete Cake how it actually originally looked like before being cut into Smaller Blocks. ♥️

The Adzuki Bean Paste is Thick, Firm and Solid. 🫘 Also Cold to the Taste, I especially love that the Sweetness is Light and Delicate, and Not in Your Face Type of Overly Sweet. 😋 I really like the Real Adzuki Bean Taste that I could taste in this. This tells me that this thing is Handmade, not some Pre-Made Mix.👍
I also like that despite it being a Red Bean Paste, it is still Moist Enough to go down smoothly down your Throat and not get stuck Halfway down your Throat type. 😅 Eating the Whole Thing, this almost tastes like a Mini Mooncake with a Pancake Texture. 🥞 Decent Tasting. 👍

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
At TWD25 (S$1.10) for Each Item, this wasn't Super Cheap, but I thought the Quality of the Pastries were Decent. ,👍 The Friendly 大姐 say they are all Handmade and I believe her because of how Light and Delicate Tasting the Custard Cream 🧈 and Especially the Adzuki Red Bean Paste Tasted. 🫘 A Pre-Made Mix would have been alot Sweeter.

Obviously because this is a Mobile Food Stand, 🛵 there are No Dining In, but there are a Row of Stone Seats at the Building Nearby where you can Comfortably Sit Down and Enjoy your Pastries. 😋 As I sat and ate while I observed, although there weren't a Super Long Queue, but the Customers were quite Regular. 🤔
From Time to Time, people will just walk past to buy a Couple of them to Dabao. 🛍️
Some will even Ride the Scooters up to the Stall and just order directly while on the Road. 🛵😄

As for me, I thought it was a Good Place to take a Short Break enjoying some Pastries while doing some People Watching 😄 as I see Taiwanese going about their Regular Working Day. 🚶 Not a Die Die Must Come Place obviously, and I have never been to Nagoya Japan 🇯🇵 so I don't know how legit these tasted, but to me, these Pastries were not bad tasting. I really do like how Light Tasting the Fillings Tasted. 😋
Don't let my Average Score deter you. If you are someone who enjoy such Japanese-Styled Wagashi 🍡 and are nearby the Area, why not swing by and give this a Try? 👍 This Stall Lady is Really Nice and Friendly and Deserves your Support. 😄
