Having just only recently came back from Taiwan and seeing this Eatery, I knew I just have to give it a try! 🇹🇼😋
Located near one of the Side Entrances of the Mall. This was a Small Cafe. It adopts a Very Modern Scandi-Ish type of Reno Design. I particularly like the Big Glass Window it has with a Bright Exterior View giving the Whole Place a Very Bright and Clean Modern Cafe Look. 🌞 The Background Music they play here are some Nice and Chill Contemporary Mandarin Pop Songs. 🎵🎶

Staffs are Polite and Friendly and keep to themselves. Not much Customers besides me at 11.00am on a Thursday.
It took 3 Mins for the Asamu Tea, 🧋5 Mins for the Mee Sua 🍜 and 7 Mins for the Braised Meat Rice. 🍚 Everything was served up within 7 Mins.
🌶️ The Chilli Condiment

The Condiments served for both Dishes were the Same. Its a Chinese Style 辣油 with abit of Spicy Bite. 🌶️ Not the Taucheo Type of Chilli that I've tasted everywhere in Taiwan. 🤔

Nevertheless, I have no issues with it as I felt the Chilli Pieces had a Solid Robust Earthy Taste. 👍 Pretty Decent 辣油. If you are ok with such Chinese Style of 辣油, you will likely have no issues with this too. 🌶️

🧋 708 Asamu Milk Tea = RM7.90 (No Sugar)

Ordered this because I've never heard it before. 🤔 No Idea what "Asamu" is. Its nicely Divided into 2 Distinct Layers, both Brown and White.
The Top Brown Section tastes like a Rich and Robust Tasting 红茶 with a Very Prominent Tea Flavour that doesn't taste Dilluted. 😋

The Bottom White Section tastes Very Unique. I think its some sort of Liquid Custard Cream? 🤔 It also has maybe a Hint of Coconut? Not Sweet at all, but a Very Creamy Taste. The Closest thing I can describe how this Tastes is that its like some "Liquid Cake". 🎂 This is a Very Unique taste that I've never tasted before.

Mixing the 2 Sections together produces a Cream Colour that made the Drink look like a Regular Milk Tea 奶茶. 🧋 The Bottom Cream Section takes over Most of the Taste Profile but its Creaminess is Very Much Subdued. I'd describe the Whole Drink tasting like a Creamy Zero-Sugar Cendol with abit of 红茶 Aftertaste. Interesting. 🤔

🍜 540 Oyster & Braised Intestine Mee Sua = RM24.90

I was Most Impressed when this was served up because it was a Huge Bowl! 😳 It was also Well Presented. 👍 As usual, I dissected everything within. The Ingredients consists of:
🍜 Plenty of Mee Sua
🐷 16 Slices of Pig Intestines
🦪 4 Big Fat Oysters
🧄 About 1 Teaspoon of Minced Garlic
🌿 Some Coriander as Garnishing

The Bonito Flake Taste in this Mee Sua Broth is Very Light. 🤔 If I were to compare Bonito Flavour among the 3 Mee Suas I've eaten, 阿忠面线 Ay-Chung would be the Strongest, 面线陈 Vermicelli Chen would be 2nd, and this one would be the Lightest in Flavour. 🤔 The Bite Texture of the Mee Sua itself is Soft and Tender as you'd expect.

Pig Intestines are Nicely Cut and have a Noticeable Stronger Elevated Pigginess if eaten on its own. 🤔 I liked that they have a Fleshy Meaty Bite to them. 😋
The 4 Oysters were Big and Fat, and I thought may even be Bigger than the ones I had in Taiwan. 🤔 Eaten on their own, I thought the Raw Seafoodiness is Strong.

On their Own, each Ingredient felt like they were either Too Light or Too Strong, 🤔 but Mixing and Eating Everything together completes the Transformation. 😋

The Lightness of the Mee Sua is actually not a Flaw because I feel it formed a Neutral Canvas to support both the Intestines and Oysters which when eaten together formed a Decent Balance. 👍

That said, I feel the Bonito Flavour could be a Tad Stronger for this one. 🤔 Overall, I feel this Mee Sua while not Amazing, also won't lose to the ones I had in Taiwan actually. 👍 Because I prefer the Bonito Flake Flavour in my Mee Sua to be on the Lighter Side, I'd still rank this above Ay-Chung, but below Vermicelli Chen in terms of Taste Quality.

🍚 620 Braised Meat Rice = RM14.90

One thing about the 卤肉饭 sold in Taiwan, at least from the Michelin Rated 富鼎王 that I ate in Taichung, is that the Amount of 卤肉 given is at most only 1 Tablespoon with a Very Small Bowl of Rice like 吃不饱 like that. 😅 卤肉饭 in Taiwan feels like you need to order More Side-Dishes in order to have a More Filling Meal. 🤔

In Comparison, the Versions we have Singapore and Malaysia are much More Generous with the Amount of 卤肉 🍖 and feel more like a Full Meal complete with Veggies 🥬 and even Braised Egg 🍳 which is exactly what this one was like.

Presented Beautifully in a Decent Bowl with Lots of 卤肉, Cucumber, 酸菜 and even 1 Full Braised Egg, you will definitely 吃得饱 after this. 😋 Really Nicely Presented, Not even the Michelin Rated 富鼎王 in Taiwan Taichung presented their 卤肉饭 like this. 😅

What sets this 卤肉饭 apart is actually the 卤肉 themselves. 🍖 Instead of the regular Braised Savoury Salty Taste you'd expect when you eat 卤肉, the Version here however tastes more like i'm eating Pork Floss 肉松. 🤔 Completely don't taste like a Conventional Braised Pork 卤肉. 🤔

It really tastes like a Sweetish Pork Floss which I thought was a Pretty Unusual and Unique Taste for a 卤肉. 🤔 I neither Like nor Dislike this Taste. Its just Different I guess. Not sure if this is a Unique Regional Taste or if its a Unique Style by this Eatery. 🤔

Nothing special about the Rice, its as Sticky and Chewy as you'd expect it to taste. I reckon this is probably 台湾珍珠米 Taiwan Pearl Rice. 🍚 I love the 酸菜 and Cucumbers they give here because they helped cut thru the Meatiness and makes this Dish less Jelak to eat. 🥬

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At the Price of RM7.90 (S$2.50) for this Unique Asamu Drink 🧋 isn't particularly Cheap, but I thought still tasted Unique although it isn't something that I'd try again. 🤔

This Drink tasted like a Creamy Zero-Sugar Cendol with abit of 红茶 Aftertaste. If this is something that appeals to you, sure go ahead. 👍

At the Price of RM24.90 (S$7.60) also isn't particularly cheap for this Bowl of Mee Sua, 🍜 but it is still a Very Large Bowl. The Amount of Ingredients feel Acceptable for the Price and as mentioned, I'd rank this above Aychung, but below Vermicelli Chen. 🤔

Whether you like this Mee Sua or not depends on whether you are OK with a Mee Sua that doesn't have a Strong Bonito Flavour because the one here is really Very Light on it. 🤔 I wouldn't call this an Elite Level of Mee Sua, but I feel the quality here won't lose to Taiwan too. 👍

At the Price of RM14.90 (S$4.60) for the Braised Pork Rice 卤肉饭 is also Not Particularly Cheap but the Amount of Food you're getting here I feel is Very Reasonable and Filling. 👍 Presentation of 卤肉饭 is Very Different in Taiwan 🇹🇼 compared to Singapore and Malaysia. 🇸🇬🇲🇾

The 卤肉饭 we have here in Malaysia and Singapore is More Generous with Meat Offerings together with Veggies and even 1 Full Egg, making this a Full Complete Filling Meal by itself. 😋
What will make or break this Dish for you is if you are OK with the Unique "Pork Floss 肉松“ taste of the 卤肉. 🤔 Not sure if this is a Unique Regional Version, or if its a Unique Style of this Eatery itself. 🤔

The Overall Prices of the Dishes here aren't Super Affordable although to be fair this is a Shopping Mall Cafe. I do have to apologize to the Restaurant though because I need to limit my Carb Intake, I did not finish every bit of Mee Sua and Rice. 😅 Hahaha paiseh, I over-estimated on how much I could eat. 😅

Is this a 100% Perfect 1 for 1 Authentic Re-Creation of Taiwanese Food? Of course not, but its still Decent. 👍 If you are in Sutera Mall craving for some Taiwanese Food and are ok with the Prices in their Menu, I can still recommend this place to give it a try as long as you keep your Expectations in Check. 🤔
