This was quite a Big Place, Air-Conditioned but Not Very Cold. ❄️ Initially when i entered there were No One. 🤔 The Only Staff I could was a Very Young Chap sitting behind the Front Counter who was busy engrossed with his Mobile Phone. 😅 I had to approach him to ask for a Menu. 📜 He immediately looked apologetic and quickly handed me one.

When I was at my Seat reading the Menu he actually came over and apologized again say he couldn't attend to me sooner. 😅 I'm impressed by his Sincerity. He's a Honest Looking Lad and since he is Young, I have no issues. i mean it was a Slow Day without much Customers. 😅 Hahaha I would probably have done the same if I was his age tbh. 😅 I appreciate that he at least makes an Effort to Apologize instead of just Bochup Bochup. Not Bad for Service Recovery. 👍
I noticed that in the Menu, Dishes that are listed as "Small" are still meant for 3-4 Pax. 📜🤔 So I enquired if they are able to make a Solo Portion of those Dishes instead. Instead of rejecting me on the spot, he went back to his Boss to check. 👍 Amusingly though his reply was they can make a Smaller Solo Portion but the Price remains the Same. Seriously? 😅 Hahaha no point lah. In this case I just ordered the Usual Small Sized they have then. I was quite Amused at this tbh. 😅 Anyway the Hot Plate Beancurd took 9 Mins, and the Vegetarian Crispy Duck took 10 Mins. Everything was served up in 10 Mins. Acceptable Timing I suppose. 👍

When this was served up, the first thing I smelt was the Savoury Delicious Smell of Bell Pepper pieces 🫑 which really whet my appetite and very 开味. 😋 This was a Very Big Plate and I counted at least over 20 Pieces of Egg Tofu. 👍 Soft to the Bite and Creamy Smooth, they're Very Lovely to eat and I feel are almost no different compared to Normal Non-Vegetarian Versions. 😋

The Bottom of the Pan have a Layer of Egg Omelette. 🍳 with Many Slices of either Shitake or Button Mushrooms 🍄 together with Slices of Vegetarian Fishcakes. 🍥 The Soul of this Dish is Definitely the Gravy. 🍲 Beautifully Hot and Smooth, it tastes Very Savoury without any Taste of Vegetarian Oyster Sauce which I don't like. 😋 This Gravy is the Glue that held everything together. Not Overly Salty, this would be very nice to 下饭 with. 🍚😋

This legit taste very nice and I reckon even Non-Vegetarians will approve of this one. 👍 Personally i feel this is more 红烧豆腐 than 铁板豆腐 altho it is served on a 铁板. 😅 The only critique I have for this Dish is they skip out on the Usual "Theatrics" when 铁板豆腐 is served when its poured sizzling and bubbling right infront of the Customer when first served. 🤔 But other than this Nitpick, I have no issues with this Dish. 👍
Vegetarian Crispy Duck = RM15.90
This Dish is not listed as their Recommended Dishes on the Menu but I ordered it because it is Highly Raved by Google Map Reviewers for this place. 🤔 When this was served up, I was impressed by its Presentation. 👍 Looks Impressive with the Generous Amounts of "Duck Meats" with a Sticky Sauce lum all over it and Garnished with an Iceberg Lettuce at the Side. 🥬

The Sauce they lum all over has a Very Mild Plum Flavour and is Slightly Sweetish. 🍯🤔 I reckon its trying to mimic the Plum Sauce Condiment that are provided by some Roast Duck Eateries. The "Duck" is obviously made out of Beancurd, 🟧 and i must say it ALMOST taste like Meat. 🍖🤔 I haven't eaten alot of Mock Vegetarian Meats, but this is the Closest Approximation of Meat i have tasted so far. 🤔
The Bite Texture was what surprised me. Within its Mostly Soft Chew Upper Layer, there is an Actual Slight Crunch Bite within. 😋 This means they Panfried and Sizzled the Sheet of Beancurd to first get a Crispy Skin 🔥 before they plate it up and lum the Sauce. 🍯 I appreciate the Extra Effort and I find it a Very Clever Technique to mimic a Crunchy Bite. I absolutely love the Creativity in this! ♥️ This Crispy Bite alone warrants its name "Crispy Duck" 🦆😅

That said, as some of you may already have guessed, the Amount of Plum Sauce is a tad Over Excessive. 🍯🤔 Even Real Non-Vegan Roast Duck also don't lum so much Sauce. 😅 I totally get why its there tho, because its main purpose is to help mask the Taste of the Beancurd 🟧🤔 and help contribute to the Illusion that you're eating a Meat. 🍖😅
Personally, if i were to attempt this, i would put Lesser Sauce instead of Completely Drenching it like this. 🍯🤔 Or even better, don't lum any sauce and instead offer the Sauce on the Side for Customers to ownself lum or dip the pieces in. 👍 This will also help keep the Crispiness longer and less Nua Nua. In addition, i feel they should market this as "Char Siew" rather than "Duck" because it kindda look closer to a "Char Siew" actually. Hahaha. 🍖😅 I reckon this Beancurd "Duck" they have can also easily be incorporated into a Vegetarian WTM or any other Vegetarians Dishes that requires Mock Char Siew. 🤔

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
Although the Initial Service faltered and wasn't a Good First Impression for a 1st Time Customer, I appreciated at the Young Lad's attempt at Service Recovery. 👍 He's such a Sincere Honest Looking Chap, its hard not to forgive him. 😅
RM14.90 (S$4.30) for such a Big Generous Plate of Hotplate Tofu was Absolutely Worth the Money. 👍 There are enough here to comfortably feed 2-3 People. 👍
It tastes so good, that I feel even People who don't eat Vegetarian often will also enjoy this. 😋 This Dish would pair very Beautifully with some Rice or Noodles. 🍚🍜
RM15.90 (S$4.60) for that Vegetarian Crispy Duck I feel may not be worth it for some people because at the end of the day, it is basically a Sheet of Beancurd with Plum Sauce after all. 🟧🍯
I personally feel it is worth the money because there is quite alot of Thought that had gone into its Design and there are some Culinary Effort made to it that I appreciated. 👍
The Main Issue I have with this place is that it is not Very Solo Friendly. 🤔
All of their Dishes are Very Big Portion even though they're listed as "Small" on the Menu. 📜🤔
While Complimenting the Eatery Owners, (who looked like a Family running this place), I did raise this Size Issue to them. In fact I also recommended if they could have Smaller Solo Portions, this would actually encourage Customers to order More Dishes instead of just ordering 1 or 2. 👍 If you are looking looking for a Vegetarian Eatery that showcases both Creativity and Culinary Effort in their Dishes, I can recommend this place to try. 👍
