Got to know of this place thru JohorKaki. Like what he mentioned in his Review, this isn't particularly Delicious, Glamorous or Instagrammable. 🤔
This is literally just the Classic Breakfast Dish Economy Noodles 经济面. 🍝 Like Malaysia Styled Cai Fan, you self service and take whatever you want and go to the Cashier to pay. 💵 Even on a Thursday at 8.00am, 🌞 there are noticeably alot of Locals in this place although its not Crowded.

To review this, I took abit of each type of Noodles 🍝 and a Piece of Luncheon Meat to review. 🍖 Didn't really bother to choose any other Extra Toppings because all of them are just Various types of Fried Highly Processed Stuffs. 🤔 I reckon the Chap must be very Amused when he saw my Plate with abit of Everything like this. 😅

🌶️ Sambal Chilli

I agree with Johorkaki that this Sambal Chilli is nice. 🌶️ The Initial Bitefeel I got is like its made out of Many Crushed Prawn Pieces. 🦐
There is a Tinge of Sourness and a Higher than Normal Level of Spiciness that while won't bite your tongue, will linger long. 🌶️ This is quite a Complex Prawn Based Sambal. 🦐🌶️

🍖 Luncheon Meat

This is obviously from a Can. No idea what brand this is, but I find it has a Nice Higher Quality Meatier Taste. 🍖😋 This aint bad tasting as far as Canned Luncheon Meat goes. Not Thickly Sliced but also Not Too Paper Thin Stingy. 👍

The Various Types of Noodles

Fried Bee Hoon

Pretty Standard Taste for a Economy Noodles Bee Hoon. 🤔 Quite light on Soy Sauce, not say 重口味.

Fried Maggie Mee

Nothing special about this. It taste exactly how you'd expect it to taste. 🤔 Light Tasting, not Salty, Soft to the Bite and not Nua Nua.

Fried Kuay Teow

Nothing Special. 🤔 Also taste light, not overly salty, and has a Niam Niam Sticky Texture with an Alkaline Undertone.

Fried Mee

This is the one that stands out among the Noodles. Standard Yellow Noodles 🍝 with a Thick and Saucy Appearance, almost like Malaysia-Styled Black Hokkien Mee. 🇲🇾

This is Popular as I see most Customers choose this one.
🤔
Despite how Dark Coloured and Saucy it looked, 🍯 it is surprisingly quite Light Tasting and Not Salty. There is a Slight Alkaline Undertone Taste to it.

Overall Verdict for the Noodles

I'm abit disappointed that all the Noodles weren't Freshly Piping Hot even at 8.00am when I was there. 🌞🤔 That said, they also weren't Cold either. Just Normal Room Temp. All the Noodles have a Oily and Wet Wet Taste Texture to them. 🤔 They are also all Light in Taste and Not Overly Salty or 重口味.

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

At a Total Combined Price of RM5.20 (S$1.50) including a Piece of Luncheon Meat, I would say that this is Affordable.

Is it worth your Time and Effort to specifically come all the way here to Taman Gaya in Johor Bahru just to eat this? Of Course Not. 🤔 This is just Basic Economy Noodles 经济面. Anyone would also acknowledge that it is not the Healthiest Thing to Eat Regularly even if its Affordable. 🍝😅

I feel the reason this place is Popular with the Locals is not because it really taste very special or nice, but because of its Affordability. 💵🤔 Given that the Cost of an Average Meal in Malaysia JB is at least RM8.00 nowadays, having a Simple Meal that cost RM5.20 with a Piece of Meat albeit a Very Highly Processed one would probably feel like a Good Value for the Locals. 🍖🍝
If anything, this shows how Bad the Food Prices Inflation has become for the Locals in Malaysia. 🇲🇾🤔 Can you imagine needing to pay S$5.20 for a plate of this in Singapore? I certainly wouldn't. 🙅‍♂️

I feel the Sambal is the True Highlight for this place. 🌶️👍 I actually went over to compliment the Stall Owner about it and he was understandably visibly surprised. 😅 He appreciated and say it is Belacan Based. 🌶️
I am personally Very Grateful that he charged me a Reasonable Price for what I took and didn't chop me like a Carrot Head "Tok Cai Tao" even though I was obviously a Singaporean. 🥕😅 He could have easily overcharged me RM10.00 or even more if he wanted instead of RM5.20. 🤔

At the End of the Day though, this is basically Economy Noodles 经济面. 🍝
Nothing More, Nothing Less. Nothing really Special about this. 🤔 Enjoy this in Moderation I suppose.
