The KL Curry Mee ๐ here is Very Highly Praised by Johorkaki and even described several times in his Review as "Crazy Rich". ๐ค

The Actual Place is a Food Stall located within ๅฅฝ่ฎฐ Hoa Kee Kopitiam which itself is quite a Big Place. Although not Full House, it was Quite Crowded with Locals at 9.00am on a Friday. ๐ There are Multiple Food Stalls here providing a Wide Variety of Dishes. ๐
The Chilli that comes with this has a Strong Lemongrass Taste. ๐ถ️ Not Particularly Spicy although the Heat does linger abit. ๐ถ️
Really, I think the whole thing is more a Delivery Package for the Lemongrass.
When the Dish was first served up, I was immediately impressed. ๐ Even for the Small Size I ordered, this was Seriously a Very Big Bowl of Curry Mee ๐ and the Amount of Noodles are Very Generous.
The Curry Broth is described as "Crazy Rich" by Johorkaki. ๐ฒ Appearance wise, it does look Rich and Thick but I personally found the Actual Broth to be Watery with No Gritty Texture. ๐ค Its Creamy and Not Bad tasting and I felt it to taste like a Milder Version of our SG Laksa. ๐ธ๐ฌ๐ค
Don't get me wrong, I agree with Johorkaki on alot of things, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with him on his "Crazy Rich" verdict for this one. ๐ค Coconut Milk is definitely there, but feels Quite Subdued actually. ๐ฅฅ๐ค
Personally I don't feel this is as "Crazy Rich" as he described. In fact, I feel this Broth will actually appeal more for people who don't like Too Strong Coconut Milk for their Curry Mee / Laksa Broth. ๐ฅฅ๐ค
The Ingredient Toppings are Several Pieces of Fried Pork Skin, ๐ท
Tau Pok, ๐ง Green Beans ๐ซ and 2 Small Pieces of Bite Sized Char Siew. ๐ท
This is the First Time I'm seeing Fried Pork Skin used in a Curry Mee / Laksa. ๐ท๐ I don't think this is an Ingredient used in Singapore Laksa and I also don't recall seeing this in ๆ่ฎฐๅคชๅนณ้ฒ่ค็ช่กๅๅฉ้ข which is another JB Curry Mee Franchise I ate the other time in Bukit Indah. ๐ค
This Fried Pork Skin ๐ท Together with Taupok ๐ง were a Very Good Addition because of their Unique Property to suck up the Gravy like a Sponge. ๐ฒ๐ Never knew Fried Pork Skin has such an Absorbent Property like this. It even taste like Fish Maw (Yu Piu / ้ญ้ฐพ) ๐๐ค

The Char Siew were a Fatty Cut and I'm impressed that it is Legit Roasted Type. ๐ฅ๐ท Biting into one gives a Nice Meaty Taste to help break up the Heavy Nature of this Dish. ๐๐ Green Beans are Firm and helps provide a Nice Crunch and also add a Dash of Green Colour to the Overall "Yellowness" of the Dish. ๐ซ๐

At RM9.00 (S$2.60) for such a Big and Filling Bowl of Curry Mee, it is worth the money to try. ๐ People who prefer a Lighter Tasting Laksa/Curry Mee will enjoy this one. That said though, I don't feel it is that Mind-Blowing and Amazing to take the time to come all the way to Taman Gaya just to eat this. ๐ค If you are near the Area though, sure why not. ๐
