This has got to be One of the Most Overtly Chinese Auspicious "Huat Huat" type of Name I've seen so far for a Kopitiam. 🧨🎉 "福氣安康" translates to "Great Blessings and Great Health". The Owner probably drew inspiration from the Many CNY Greetings for this. 👲😅 Older Uncles and Aunties will probably love this place very much. 😅

Its one of those Modern Kopitiam Franchise that are available all around JB but this is one that I haven't encountered yet during my Trips so far. 🤔 Just like Old Town Coffee that I reviewed previously, the latest branch they have here in City Square Mall only opened only a Couple of Months ago. 🤔
Even on a Monday Afternoon when I was there, it was quite Popular and Crowded as you can see with people queuing up for it! 😳 Luckily the Queue moves relatively fast and I was still able to get a Seat in less than 2 Mins of Queuing. 👍

I'd like to take the Opportunity to Compliment the Entrance Welcoming Lady Staff who was Polite, Calm and Collected even though there were a Crowd of Customers. 💁👍 It felt as if she was in Full Control of the Situation. 👍 She's obviously Very Busy, but never lost her Composure and could still Smile at Customers. 😄 She even does Double Duty as a Serving Staff when required. 💁 It was because of her, that I felt this place was very much more Organized and Well-Planned compared to Haphazard Entrance Experience at Old Town Coffee which I reviewed previously. 👍

Interior of the Place

This is Quite a Large Eatery divided into 2 Sections and Nicely Renovated to kind of look like a Classic Old Kopitiam with a Modern Touch to it. ☕ That said, even though in an Air-Conditioned Mall, I thought the Whole Place felt quite Warm and I actually felt abit Sweaty. 🥵 Maybe its because I was seated in the Inner Section where the Serving Kitchen is located. If you can, I would suggest to sit at the Outer Section instead. 🤔

Ordering System is via Online QR Code, 🌐 although Pencil/Paper System is also available. 📝 I do like they have Free WIFI although you have to ask a Staff for the Login Details.
Whenever you need any Service, just press the Bell Button on your Table and the Friendly Staffs will promptly attend to you. 👍 Again, this is pretty much an Efficient Standard System across most JB Modern Kopitiam Franchises which Old Town Coffee sorely lacks in my previous review. 🤔

The 🥪 Sambal Toast was the 1st to be served up after 9 Mins. This was followed by the 🥧 2 Egg Tarts that took 10 Mins. ☕ Kopi-O was surprisingly the Slowest that took 13 Mins.
It took a total of 13 Mins for Everything to be Served Up. Not Bad Timing considering the Crowd of Customers that was there, 👍 but I was surprised the Kopi-O took the Longest. ☕🤔 Normally, Drinks are usually the 1st to be served before all else. 🤔

☕ 001 Kopi-O 咖啡烏 (Hot, No Sugar) = RM3.90

The Kopi-O interestingly comes with 4 Small Cute Baby Fish Biscuits. 🐟😅 This is Very Unique and the First Time i've seen a Modern Kopitiam Franchise do this. 😅 The Roasted Coffee Aroma for this Kopi-O is not very strong and this is Not a Very Strong Coffee. ☕🤔 Compared to Old Town Kopi, I feel this is Considerably Milder and Not as Bitter in Comparison. ☕🤔 This is Coffee meant more to Chill with, not to Wake Up. 😅

Adding the Little Baby Fish Biscuits into the Coffee was Rediculously Adorable though! 🐟❤️ They taste exactly how you would imagine a Generic Biscuit would taste. 😅 I suppose they are trying to Emulate the Old School Style of People in the Past dunking "Hup Seng Soda-Pia" Biscuits into Coffee? 🍪☕ While I'm not a fan of the Coffee, I love the Creativity they have going for this! ❤️

🥪 108 Sambal Egg Cucumber Toast 鸡蛋参巴香烤面包 = RM6.50

This Dish is listed under their Top Picks Bestseller Recommendation list. Firstly, Wow the Toast itself is Thick! 🥪😳 Its 2 Pieces of Thick Bread Toast, not sliced thinly like how some other Toast Franchise tend to do to cut cost. 👍
It comes with 3 Slices of Cucumbers, again not thinly sliced, 🥒 1 Small Egg Omelette (I think they used 1 Egg), 🍳 a Few Pieces of Caramelized Onions 🧅 and some Slathering of Sambal. 🌶️

There aren't alot of Sambal actually, this is not those Thick Thick Gao Gao Alot type. 🌶️🤔 Its Haebee Based, Not Spicy and Tastes more Sweetish. The Haebee Taste is also not Very Strong Gao Gao type. 🤔 The Whole Sambal actually tasted considerably Milder as compared to some other Sambal Toasts I've eaten. 🤔

Biting Everything Together was Satisfying combining the Crunch of the Cucumber, 🥒 the Crispness of the Toast, 🍞 followed by the Soft Egg 🍳 and Topped off with the Sambal. 🌶️

While I appreciated that their Toppings are using Standard Sized Sliced Cuts and there are No Attempts to Cut Thinly to Cut Cost, I felt the Sambal here lacked a Certain Oomph and the Amount of Sambal was abit lacking. 🌶️🤔 But thats just my Opinion because I prefer Sambal Toasts to be alot Spicier 重口味 and Thick Gao Gao type. 🌶️😋 Personally, I feel this will appeal more for people who don't like Too Spicy type of Sambal or Too Much Sambal on their Toast. 🌶️ Overall, this is an Acceptable Sambal Toast although its not my preference.

🥧 118 Signature Sunshine Egg Tart 福氣太阳蛋挞 = RM4.80 each

As with Most of these Modern JB Kopitiams, Egg Tarts are usually their Signature Dish and this is no Different. 🥧🤔 It's styled more towards the Portugeuse-Styled of Egg Tart with a More Flaky Skin rather then using Cookie Type of Tart-Shell. 🥧🤔 No Complaints about the Skin, but I also don't find anything special about it. Very Standard Taste. 🤔

The Amount of Egg Filling is Thick as you can see in the Cross Section in my Photo Collection. 🥚 It's Sweet but Not Overly So. Compared to other Egg Tarts, I feel this is considered one of the Less Sweet ones i've tasted. 🥧🤔 Texture of the Egg Filling is not the Super Soft Type, yet also not as Firm. For some reason though, I felt the Texture of the Egg Filling felt more like Chawanmushi. 😅 Overall its Not Bad, but also Not Particularly Mind Blowingly Amazing for me. 🤔 It just taste like a Very Standard Portugueuse-Styled Egg Tart for me.

🥧 Curry Potato Egg Tart 咖喱马铃薯蛋挞 = RM6.20 each

This was the Newest Item they have and it is featured on their Main Entrance Signboard. 🪧 It's so new that its not even in their Main Menu and you have to specificially write it out on the Paper you're given. 📝🤔
I had the Initial Impression that perhaps they would use Curry Puff Filling and stuff them into a Egg Tart Shell, 🤔 but the Actual Implementation of the Dish itself is Completely Not What I Imagined them to do. 😳 Heck I'd describe their own implementation of this as "Absolutely Insane"! 🤯

The Actual Tart itself as you can see in my Comparison Photo is actually abit Smaller than their Signature Egg Tart which was Admirable because that means they did not re-use their Tart Shell and had to make this from scratch. 🥧👍 I also liked the little flaky bits of what look like Crushed Fried Herbs? 🌿🤔 garnishing the top which made it look more like a Mini Pie than a Egg Tart. 🥧😅

The Filling is a Mix of Potato Filling on Top followed by their Regular Sweet Egg Tart Filling at the Bottom. 🥔🥚 Despite looking exactly like a Curry Puff Filling, it tastes Sweetish, Not Savoury. 😳 I'd describe this as tasting almost like a "Sweetish Custard with a Curry Aftertaste". 🤔
When this is Mixed with their Regular Sweet Egg Tart Filling, I find it Too Wierd a Combination. 😜 I'd describe the Mixed Taste like 2 Different Types of Sweetness with a Curry Aftertaste. 🍲😜

The 2 Tastes in this did not Gel very well for me and Clashed Too Harshly. 😜 I'll admit its not a Taste that I like at First Bite. It's a Very Acquired Taste, but perhaps some people may like it? 🤔 I dunno lah, personally I feel its Combined Obtrusive Vulgar Sweetness Overstayed its Welcome too much. 😅

I appreciate their Attempt at Creativity for this though, and they should not be faulted for trying to innovate and creating something new, 👍 but this is definitely not something I'd order again. 😅
If it were up to me to design this Tart, I'd re-use their Original Egg Tart Shell (to save money without making another Brand New Tart Shell) 🥧🤔 and completely remove their Sweet Egg Tart Filling and fill it with More Conventional Savoury Salty Curry Puff type of Potato Filling. 🤔 Hahaha! Maybe I'll call it a "Egg Tart Curry Puff" instead? 😅

----------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

Total Combined Price of RM24.80 (S$7.20) for everything I ordered was a Reasonable Price although I feel you can skip their Curry Potato Egg Tart 🥧😅 which will shave off S$1.80 off your Total.

Personally I don't feel this Curry Potato Egg Tart is worth the Money for me because I personally don't like the Taste, 😜 and its even more Expensive then their Regular Egg Tart. 💵😅 But again, thats just my Personal Opinion. I do appreciate their Effort in Innovating and Trying Something New. 👍

In fact, from how Creative they were in making that Curry Potato Egg Tart and the Adding of those Super Adorable Baby Fish Biscuits into their Coffee,
❤️ these Dishes show me that this Eatery is Culinarily Very Creative and is Not Afraid to Innovate and Try Something New. 👍 This itself is Very Admirable and they should not be faulted even if an Idea sometimes does not work. 👍

Compared to Old Town Coffee that I reviewed previously, this was a Much More Organized Eatery and I had a Much Better Dining Experience Here. 👍 If you are here in JB City Square Mall looking for an Eatery, I can definitely recommend this place to give it a try. 👍
