Randomly discovered this place on Google Maps that apparently serves Sabah Foods. ðŸ˜‹ Really Friendly Place run by both Sabah ðŸ‡ēðŸ‡ū and Indonesian folks. ðŸ‡ŪðŸ‡Đ The Cook especially is from Sabah so I reckon it should be quite Authentic. 👍 They also have Various Sabah Snacks for Sale. That said, the place did felt abit Stuffy and Warm even though they have Ceiling Fans. ðŸĨĩ

Ngiu Chap is apparently a Classic Food from Sabah Malaysia. ðŸ‡ēðŸ‡ū The Name "Ngiu Chap" is a direct translation from either the Chinese Word "į‰›æ‚" (Mixed Beef) or "į‰›æą" (Beef Sauce). ðŸŪ Different Places seems to have different ways of interpretating it seems. ðŸĪ”

Ngiu Chap (Small) Soup Version, with Mee Licin Noodles = RM12.00

This Chilli has a Very Intense Deep Bitterness using an Unknown Type of Spice. ðŸŒķ️ Its neither Sweet nor Salty and leans more towards Sourish. The Spiciness doesn't hit you immediately but grows on you, and the Heat does Linger to bite your Tongue. ðŸŒķ️

This is a Very Deep and Complex Chilli.

This Dish is exactly what it is, a Mixed Beef Broth normally served with Noodles.
ðŸŪ🍜 The Classic Noodles used for Ngiu Chap is Mee Hoon but I was recommended to choose Mee Licin here. 👍 Normally I try not to add any Carbs, but I have never eaten "Mee Licin" before so I didn't mind giving it a try. Its like a Slightly Thicker Version of Mee Hoon and is Very Soft and Tender and slides down my Throat easily. 🍜😋 Amount given is Filling and Acceptable for the Price.

The Beef Broth does not exactly taste like Chinese-Styled Beef Noodle Soup despite it's name. ðŸŪðŸĪ” I mean it has a Deep Beefy Essence in it, but I feel it leans more towards the Sweeter Side. Slightly Thick in Viscosity but still Liquidy. This is a Well Made Beef Broth although somewhat Sweetish. ðŸŪðŸē

Amount of Beef Parts impressed me for the Small Bowl I ordered. ðŸŪ👍 There are at least 3 Beef Balls, Pieces of Tendons, Tripe, Meat and Various other Beef Spare Parts. ðŸ–

The Beef Balls have a Firm Bitefeel with Noticeably Lots of į‰›č·Ÿ. ðŸŪ Its Juicy and tastes Well Marinated with Spices. This tastes Handmade and not a Packaged Product. ðŸ‘

The Various Meats are Firm but still Tender to the Bite. ðŸ– Some Slices tastes Particularly Smooth which have probably gone thru the Velveting Process. 👍 There are so many Variety of Beef Parts in the Bowl, it almost felt like a Mini Beef Parts Buffet. ðŸŪ😅

The Dish on a Whole is Very Well Made, although I felt the Broth did start getting abit too Jelak near to the end of the Meal for me due to its Sweetness. ðŸēðŸĪ” One thing I also noticed is the lack of Vegetables in the Bowl and I wished they added some Salted Mustard Greens é…ļ菜 which would have given in another Dimension. ðŸĨŽ Overall, I felt Ngiu Chap is like a Fusion of both Chinese and Malay Cooking. ðŸēðŸĪ” The Dish has a Chinese Origin but the Inherent Taste feels like it has a more Malay Influence. 👍

Conclusion and Closing Thoughts

If you have never tried Ngiu Chap before, I can recommend this place if you're near the area. At RM12.00 (S$3.50) This is Worth the Money to come give it a try. 👍 I've never eaten Authentic Sabah Ngiu Chap before, so I don't know how authentic it is, but it is a Well Made Dish. Staffs are Friendly and made me feel Welcome eating here. ðŸ˜„
