Randomly found this place on Google Maps so I thought I'd give it a try. I liked the look of their Signboard for some reason. There was abit of a minor goof as they forgot my Plain Water though it was quickly rectified. Anyway, Wow.. OMG the Hokkien Mee Sauce was so Gao and Thick and the Portion for "Small" felt very generous. As a Big Eater like me, this was filling. Tasted so Good!
Hokkien mee is Salty yet not Overly Salty. Oily but 油而不膩. Throughout the whole dish, the Pork Lard is so very Fragrant yet not Overpowering. It was very enjoyable to taste Bits of Crispy Pork Lard alternating with the Smooth Bite-Feel of the Noodles. The Whole dish elevated to another level when paired with their Chilli which has a very Strong Hae Bee taste. This KL Hokkien Mee is A MUST TRY!!
The Kampung Chicken looked very nice in other people's reviews, however...I didn't enjoy it. Priced at RM38.00 felt expensive. It didn't went down smooth for me. Cold, not heavily sauced and tasted very Chickeny. I'll be honest this is the first time I'm eating Kampung Chicken. Is the meat supposed to be tough? Because it's Tough. Not as Tough as 老母鸡 but tougher bite feel compared to normal chicken. Very Strong Raw Chicken taste. The other thing that turned me off was the Chicken Skin as it was so Dry. Compared to the KSL Mall Soya Sauce Chicken I reviewed previously which I could easily finish half a Chicken, I struggled to even finish this one. I'm not a fan of this Interpretation of Kampung Chicken.
